AndyP, I Was talking to my friend there again and from what he keeps explaining, it does sound like a fuel problem or starvation of some kind. Thats also a Good idea greg!! Think I'll run a Diagnostics check first either via the foot well ECU or as V6Power explained. Then try everything else from there!

I would hope for his sake it's not the belts!

That is handy!!!! I think I need to purchase one of those data scan systems that have been mentiond too. Just to have handy.

Just waiting to see if he's going have the car brought to my place and I'll give all those points a look over. Can anyone tell me how to do the manual Diagnostics check via the box on the passanger side foot well? I believe I have to turn a screw either clockwise or anti clockwise and count the flashing Red and LED lights.

I havent had a chance to look at the car yet myself. But going by conversation with him, the car turns over fine but just wont start. He said the car has been running perfect up until today. No problems at all, and even as he was driving it today it was running fine. He was doing a long drive, roughly constant for about 1h 30mins and then as he was slowing down to pull into a car park in a travel stop it just startedloosing power then came to a slow halt and wouldnt fire up again. I Was talking to Smithy of Smithys Place, and he reckons it could be the PTU, AMF or carnk angle sensor.

A friend of mine ran into a bit of bother today. He has a series 1 UK manual. It was driving fine for the most part of the day until he was pulling into a car park and the car started to loose power. He tried to give it some throttle but it just jerked slightly and wouldn’t take any power. The car then came to a slow stop. It didn’t over heat, good oil pressure and plenty of water in the radiator. Any suggestions??

The UK clocks will fit straight into an imported car and everything will work just perfect like the UK cars. I've had a few imports and always sourced the UK clocks for them and never had any problems. Just keep in mind if you have a series 1 then you need the series 1 clocks, and likewise if you have a series 2.

Old zed, I'll take the blower motor off you as I may have to go down the route. Can you email me so I can get some details please?? I'm not getting any air through my interior vents. It just stopped working tonight and came to a very calm halt. The unit works fine all the buttons and display work but just no air??? I have looked at the fuses at the drivers side foot well all seem fine, looked under the bonnet fuse box, no fuses blown there so anyone got any ideas??

You beat me to the post!!! Was watching it too. Didnt think much of the wheels on the black Z? But first time i've seen the Z on a TV show since top gear. And even then, that top gear wasnt really about the 300ZX. Just comparing the speed difference between the 300 and 350.

It's def not the manifold, had a look underneath and it's good and tight. There seems to be a gap or gasket gone where the turbo is? If you reach down you can feel a gap. Maybe I'm away off on that part or its nothing? Very hard to do anything on these cars without a garage lift at home!! Also coil packs need replaced too. Smoke coming from 1 side only. Not alot of smoke though.

The symptons is very loud noise up beside the manifold, loss of power, some smoking. It's seems to be the turbo on the passanger side too. Car starts and drives ok, just low boost and loud.

So quite a bit of work involved then!!! Not much change from £1000 I would say. I think I might dismantle this one too.

Well I have a 1990 Jap Twin Turbo auto, that needs a new water pump and turbo fitted. Can anyone advise on how difficult a job this is to do?? Also rough guide what a mechanic should charge to do it as I have the parts ok?? Would this be a possible DIY job? I'm condesedering breaking the car if my mechanic is talking big £££££££££!!!!!

Well that is true!! But you cant take the Z to bed lol!! No matter how much you might like too it's not possible. Might sound tacky and cheesie but women do like a romantic at heart. Plus who knows, she might give you as much pleasure as your Z!!! lol

I'll tell you how to do it mate. This is old bull style!! lol. You obviously know where she works?? So what you do is. For one week seven day, you send her a rose. Starting with one for the first day, then as the days grow you send her the amount accordingly. i.e. second day two roses, 3rd day 3 roses etc etc. But as each days go by you send her a partial story of how you seen her and how amazing she looked. But remember to keep it short and sweet to build it up to the final 7th day with bouquet of roses and asking her out!! Just call me the love doctor!!! lol!!

I'm in Limavady 300Zxxx. A few of my other Z's through the years went your direction. I used have a Yellow UK 300ZX that went that way. Was badged 400ZX as it was 400BHP at that time, it was also a MAX POWER featured car and was in the max Power video with a few other Z's. There was a purple strosek car featured with it belonging to a guy who had a didability and had steering wheel controls! On another note, chunk and crew, I'll do my best along with 300zxxx to get the parts off that SWB. But 300z xxx is right, the guy who has the car is the type of person that wants an offer and he will just say yes or no!! There was a story once, where someone went to Eddie Torrens looking for a headlight, Eddie Torrens gave him a price, the guy turned around and said "I can get it £20 cheaper at another breakers", so eddie in turn smashed the headlight and told the guy to go and f****ng buy it there then!!! MAD MAN!!!

Yeah I can take care of stripping the car no problem!! And delivery!! Just dont mention my name if you want the parts cheap lol!!!
