  1. I can do it if you want. Drop me a line.
  2. Be great if you could, cheers.
  3. Has anyone looked at offset grinding the crank pins on a VG30 to stroke it? Saves the extortionate cost of a new crank, and if you're having forged rods anyway then it wouldn't cost much to have the size of the big end reduced.
  4. Anyone know off what diameter the solid brake lines on a Z are? Need to order some tube to start bypassing the ABS.
  5. Velcro bit gives access to where the brake lines come through the bulkhead.
  6. And they're set to trigger at the speed limit on the signs like the M25 :(
  7. Wasn't talking about yours Ian, it's just my take on it, never wished you anything but luck with it. I personally hate turbo engines because of the way they deliver the power. As I said personal preference. You're right, there's no way an NA (unless its an 11 litre) is going to deliver the sort of torque yours will. On the other hand, there's no way an turbo can deliver the sort of response and drivablity of an NA, which is why I'm building mine.
  8. Nice one! It's amazing how much metal you get per £ for chevy stuff ain't it. Remember buying pistons for an LS6 big block and couldn't believe the size of them. What capacity is it going to be now?
  9. Yes, NA engines neve generate the same sort of torque as charged ones, VG with boost upgrade will monster it for torque. Some of the VH's with non-standard headers / cams are making 400-450bhp depending on spec though.
  10. I'll tell you in a few months! There are some fairly expensive bits like Dry sump pump, ECU, throttle bodies, exhaust manifolds etc. Labour, I probably wouldn't do it for less that £2.5k if someone asked because it's such a ball ache.
  11. Funny you should mention that .... Doing this my self at the minute, but TBH if you're not going to do the work yourself, then it's going to be very expensive. It's by no means a straightforward swap. Having said that it will still cost less than a full VG build up including manifolds, intercoolers etc. It's horses for courses really and depends what you want from your car. If you want numbers to impress people with and bragging rights down the pub, then stick to the turbo. If you want a car that drives well and has that immediate throttle response and linearity that a turdo engine can just never have, then go for the V8. Fuel consuption won't increase either. The VH45 is lighter, and NA engines need less fuel for the same air flow than turbos (ratio is about 4.7/5.7 from memory).
  12. As far as I know they don't like Z's much.
  13. I actually saw a reduction in MAF reading going from 15 to 17psi, so suggest about 15 is the limit on the sort of flowrate of a 3l.
  14. Any thermocouple into the plenum would be OK. SPA do universal temp gauges. Use a dual one and put one on either side of the intercoolers. Was always going to do that before I got p'd off with turbo engines.
  15. I put one in Leigh (friday)'s car ages ago. Pretty useful little bit of kit.
  16. Mmmmm bling that's actually useful. Nice.
  17. Cool, glad you got it sorted.
  18. Just thought why not! CR is up from 10.2 to 11.2:1 too + custom rods to get nice high rev limit :) Unfortunately it's only 4.999l though.
  19. Nah, bored it to 98mm for 5l now :)
  20. If you need a hand with the wiring, drop me a line, happy to help. Nice sig BTW, you just had to go 100 better didn't you
  21. Bloody hell, bet that was a bit scary!
  22. Any of the traders on here do Cusco stuff?
