  1. Cool, in that case, yes it's just a carb balancer you use. It will sound awesome, believe me, just got my VH45DE running on ITB's, video here; http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ncxR7xNcSfI no trumpets on them yet but made the flange pattern same as jenvey so I can use theirs.
  2. Nice work! To sync the bodies, presuming you can't get it to idle well enough without the maf to use a flow gauge type balancer then you can compare the vacuum readings from each runner. You obviously need to have a vacuum tapping on the runners then use a DP meter or manometer to equalise all the other bodies to the master.
  3. That's what people call them! They're Z centre 6 pot 'lambo' lights http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_24_57&products_id=51
  4. Got those ;):D Will be the only thing about the outside of my car you're going to like si! Wait until you see them with the matt black re-spray, monster bonnet vent, bonnet pins and caravan lights. You'll not sleep for weeks!
  5. No, being dry sumped I'd already run the pump up manually with a drill then on the starter motor many times to build up pressure and check the lubrication. Also, if you notice how long it takes to catch, that's because I'm holding the ignition kill and not letting it fire until the oil pressure is up as measured from the main engine gallery. It's almost a full on race build, big cams, soild lifters, big clearences, will always be noisey. You ever heard a lambo V12 running, believe me it sounds much worse! No way I'm selling it, deffo a keeper this one ;)
  6. Glad you all like it! Sync the TB's just using a carb balancer, yeah. Set it up running on a smooth low speed then just set the opening to give equal flow on each cyl.
  7. Cheers for all the comments guys, still smiling Just normal top end noise on this engine. Cams are massive 280°@50thou lift with very aggressive ramp and soild lifters so will always be noisey. There is a little bit of clicking as some spitback still on one cyl, haven't synched the throttle bodies yet other than by eye so I think that one is running a little lean on idle compared to the others.
  8. Friday's is still very much a work in progress but it's coming along, will be done for the end of next year at the latest I'd think.
  9. Oh, earlier vid of robs when not mapped at all:
  10. Excellent, be an interesting comparison either way. You doing full on drag suspension etc? I'm keeping mine very much track biased so will prob have pathetic 60' times as no squat. We'll deffo have to run side by side, double thunder :hyper:
  11. Nice, is that Gavin Balmer's old car? Will kick my ass if it is, was properly set up for the strip as I remember!
  12. Lol, you should hear it from close up, that's pretty much just induction on the video. Rob has some more, hopefully he'll post them up soon.
  13. First video I managed to get. This is after initial running to get everything up to temp, check for leaks etc. and do some very, very basic mapping to at least let it rev a bit without stalling. Still some big flatspots even with no load but that'll all get sorted soon. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ncxR7xNcSfI Cheers to Rob (dunkzxtt) for helping out today too :duffer:
  14. On full throttle on boost you want 11-12AFR ideally, any leaner is trouble.
  15. Cheers for all the comments guys. As for the questions: Took about 2 weeks to do all together from design to fully welded up. Contact details: Alunox exhausts, wrexham, 01978366774 And, yes they're for my V8 300zx (or 500zx) -- WHICH NOW RUNS :duffer::duffer::duffer: Fitted the manifolds this weekend and got it started finally! A few bits to heat-shield / tidy up / re-fit but was so good to hear it run. Has a very hard edged exhaust note for a big V8 and the way it revs up is just crazy.
  16. Hopefully fitting them tomorrow and starting up if nothing fouls with them or needs modded to get them in. As ever, quality of Leon's work is outstanding :D
  17. Have you thought about welding them yourself? You can get a DC tig set off ebay for about £80 which will do good welds on SS with a little practice. I'd never welded before I started doing the oil lines etc on mine and they've all gone OK, no leaks and by the end they even looked neat.
  18. I'd heard Lennie Kravitz was doing it?!
  19. It'll be fine. I have a manual conversion kit for sale if you're interested drop me a PM.
  20. Graham Bell's books are very good. Four stroke performance tuning and Modern engine tuning.
  21. Yeah, he's got the collectors perfectly horizontal by the end of the box. Exhaust will go from the 2 3" collector outlets to a single 4" pipe with one silenced output and one with the silencer bypass valve on it. Should be like armaggedon with that open. Yes, the bends are to equalise the length although as Rob says, they're spread roughly an inch each way of 1m to spread the tuned width a little.
  22. Went to see Leon today and he's got started on the manifolds! Excellent job as always, he's managed to get the exact length / diameter I wanted in there and yet still make it so you can fit them without pulling the engine. Should be done by next week then can fire it up!!!!

  24. I'm selling a nice set of recaros at the minute, some pics in the for sale section.
