  1. It's just the same as a normal one, only it had red lettering? http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/images/063l.jpg one for sale too; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-300ZX-Z32-90-96-JDM-CENTER-PANEL-LAMP-NEW-99-JSPEC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZQ7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2em63Q2el1177QQhashZitem1c0ab2b5caQQitemZ120438568394QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ebayphotohosting
  2. about the 'Stance' do they have a shorter wheelbase than the 350?
  3. Much nicer than the 350Z, I live next to the Nissan site at Sunderland, and I have heard news that Nissan has a few there for a local meeting I attend in the Nissan grounds, I will get some pictures taken for you guys if you're interested as I have yet to see one myself, but I am hoping to have a good look around one of those little beauties :D - Still prefer the Z32 though :D
  4. yes, very nice. I will be interested if there is a 2+2 made available.
  5. If money isn't an object, IMO Tvr Spectraflare style paint is the best, I have always been a fan of flips, because you can't get bored of the colour. But I do think Bayside Blue is a gorgeous colour on an R34, not convinced on the 300zx though... I also think super bright whites and pearls look nice, but it's all personal preference really, at the moment Renaultsport are making some nice colours, they do some beautiful colours on there Clios and Meganes, especially the Liquid Yellow Gold :D - Which I possibly will be getting mine sprayed ...
  6. 300zx_dre: 22 : 89 JDM TT: Full no claims + clean licence. 10k miles, £800 fully comprehensive. Admiral.
  7. The GTR might be amazing or whatever, but the 300zx and GTR are non-comparable, as they are in different leagues and manufactured in different eras, for me the 300zx has unique looks and styling. The closest thing you could compare it to now is obviously the 370Z and they look pretty similar to a GTR, but the 370z is alot cheaper and not much slower, has a better heritage and possibly a nicer dash :D - Z cars for Me!
  8. Honda Crx-del sol SiR Mugen Import. 1.6 180bhp. I loved this little baby, it had so many cool features, such as the first ever transtop electric roof, and the rear window going down :D also the bullet proof B series honda engine & a unique look to it. Never failed me ever that car, 100% reliable. :(
  9. I think the new GTR looks like the 350z and R34's illegitamate lovechild, it has a 350z front end with a fatter R34 arse end.. I still prefer the R34.
  10. That's brill thanks for the information Jeff - Also, am I right in thinking that shift solenoid B controls 3rd and 4th gear.. I am clutching at straws but I wanna make sure I am in the right direction.
  11. I can't get 3rd and 4th gear, looking through the manual, I have found 3 unit solenoid shift set, how would you test this set?.. rather than taking the gearbox to bits, is there any easy way to test it?.. and does the autobox ecu control it?.. Is it the ecu that controls the gears at speed range?.. and is it 3rd & 4th gear? Thanks
  12. Has anyone got any advice on how to check the shift solenoids and where they are found + pictures or links with how to check them please. i know how to do the autobox diagnostics and I have the online manual link, but hopefully somebody on here may be able to help me a little more clearer. Any help appreciated! Thanks
  13. Can someone help with this I need to know what E24 is; & E107; In Automatic Section, Pages 57 & 61 http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi And where they are. Thanks!
  14. I have been using the autobox diagnstics test, and i'm no expert when it comes to something like a "line pressure solenoid" or a "clutch overrun solenoid"... It's all well & good being able to identify what the fault code is, but if you are new to the car and don't know what those parts are, where they are located and what you should do next... it's as good as.... Is there anywhere that has a guide to where all the line pressure solenoids and solenoids and circuits e.t.c that are mentioned in the gearbox diag?
  15. I pressed my switch down to make the rear wiper do a little sweep.. then the button which I pressed down gently made a click, and now it wont let me do the sweep anymore lol, it's broken!!! I'm guessing I need to pull the pod off and clip something back in?? any advice appreciated
  16. My car is pretty much spot on in everyway, exterior, interior.. except this bloody auto gearbox which as I have mentioned in the help section. I'm debating on getting a manual conversion, but was wondering if this is really solving the problem, also what will insurance be like when they realise it's been tinkered with in way that it's no-longer an auto.. and will this affect re-sale?.. Also, I don't really want to sell the car, because of a) prices at the moment b) the auto/man conv is almost half of what the car is worth... Obviously it's fate rests in my hands (or wallet) until I decide whether it's worth keeping and restoring, or getting something else and live happy in the safe knowledge that I owned one of these great cars. Can anyone who can answer any of the above please let me know your thoughts, I would also like to hear from those who have had auto/manual conversion & what there thoughts are. Thanks in advance. André
  17. cheers m8, i'll keep it in mind, i'm just tryin to go through all the possible electrical / solenoid faults first.. before I fork out for another auto box .. any info on line pressure solenoids would still be useful from anyone reading this thread! :D
  18. sounds very similar to the fault i'm having, altho i've now lost 3rd. i'm hoping to find some info relating to line pressure solenoid, but as for damage to the box, we can only pray they are fine and it's just an electrical fault...
  19. Hey, thanks very much Uno, i've had the car Apart, cleaned the Solenoid out and tested it, was reading 13ohms, so it's within range. Just done another diagnostics test, got 10 flashes now lol... It's saying "Line Pressure Solenoid" What is this one?.. can I access it and could somebody give me some information on it please.. Thanks!
  20. I have just done a diagnostics test, i'm getting 7 flashes = Lock up Solenoid. What does this mean guys?
  21. I know the manual route seems like the only way forward, but it's alot of money which I wont get back, although I will have my Z in perfect order.. It's an awkward situation, possibly the worst.. it really irritates me :(
  22. Yeah, It makes sense to look for something electronic, but I have tried driving it in 2nd then dropping it into D, in an attempt to get it to go into 3rd.. Overdrive still works... it's just not making the switch over to 3rd and the higher gears.. :( I'll have to send jeff a msg about this solenoid, unless anyone else knows anything?
  23. Thanks very much for all the advice guys! - It's really very much appreciated, Oh the trials and tribulations of a Z owner :-/ When something like this goes wrong with a car it's always very tempting to just say Sod it! and sell it! But this is the car i've always wanted, I just hope the Manual conversion is gonna be the end to all my woes!.. Are the Manuals on Z's anygood? lol.. They aren't prone to braking down, or super heavy clutches? lol.. Also, who is the best person to get the conversion done by?.. I'm assuming Jeff??
