Sorry to butt in.. Just out of curiosity, why would nobody fit a dump valve?.. I can't see any immediate benefits from it myself, but is there some specific reason as to why others wouldn't?.. CheerZ

Yeah it was just steam, it's never done it before.. and it didn't do it today either... it was just an extremely hot day and I had went for a good run - I haven't seen those 2 pipes that go to the heater matrix, could someone tell me where to look please & would that affect the cabin temp? Finally, how much would a rocker cover gasket cost if it needed replacing?

The l.e.d's are the sidelight bulbs, I bought them to go with the Hids, because normal sidelight bulbs are more 'yellowish' and I Could Not! be doing with the stark contrast lol Thanks Gary :D yeah the panels are pretty sweet!

Took my Z out for a spin up the motorway on the hottest recorded day of the year!.. Got to where I wanted to be.. parked up & just popped the bonnet to help it cool down, but as I did that I noticed there was a kind of white smoke/steam coming from the back of the engine.. or the top?.. I have attached a pic of an engine to show you where I mean & replicated the smoke. :D Any ideas what this could be?

It's just after I saw the sig you made for yassa; I think it looks quite nice.. although I am eventually going to get an OEM third brake light strip when I upgrade my spoiler..

Before I rip this thing off.. I would just like to know & make sure it is colour coded underneath & a good clean afterwards will make it look decent... Has anyone took theres off already?.. can someone tell me what is underneath.. I have attached a pic so you know what I mean CheerZ

Just thought I would post some pics of my exhaust...not like you can see much of it however, but it's a Fujitsubo Giken Kogoyo exhaust. It sounds really nice, not loud at all, no rasp.. just perfect IMO. I have also added pictures of my car to the "Rides" section for the first time too if anybody fancy's checking them out! Cheers! cheers Si, I have seen the 8 spokes you are on about.. pretty nasty IMO.. but i'm guessing if these are an anniversary they will not only be hard to get ahold of.. but a little pricey too maybe..

so are those 350 rims not a stock colour?.. they look like a 'shadow chrome' ?.. I think it would go quite nice for the setup I have in mind :).. also are they 17's?

Could someone tell me the sizes of the standard brakes on the Z and how many Pot they are.. Front & rear. Also, what the difference is between the alluminium and Iron brakes, and why they changed them?.. Finally, I am gauging interest in an upgraded brake kit, so far the skyline idea takes me fancy, as it's genuine nissan and I don't think it will be as much as a hassle with ABS/Brake line fitment & standard fitment.. But I have seen people on here fitting Evo 7,8,9 e.t.c. I'm not wanting Super 8 pot braking power, just an upgrade from what I have, whilst keeping it either Nissan/brembo.. What prices would I be looking at & will an increase in the amount of Brake Pots require an increase in brake fluid?.. Please let me know! Thanks Guys!

Well, I hope your right Si with regards to them being on the up. I'm very enthusiastic about my Z, just like the rest of you guys. It was just the comments like "Why did you get one?!" and "You should of gotten a Skyline" which makes me think, - Do people really have no clue!? It's weird though, because I read about these cars becoming rarer/classics.. then I see some Z's that are worth more in scrap/parts than as a whole..The Z's image needs a big boost IMO

I think I will give it a Top up and check the belt, i've got it sussed now.. or so I think.. it happens when the car is cold, and also at low speeds.. just need to work out how to check the belt.. everything else i've read about this car seems to be an engine out job lol - hopefully this isn't lol - Thanks for the help guys!

Everywhere I go, people always ask Why I bought the 300zx!.. It really irritates me. Every car show I have been to, their's hardly any 300zx's there.. The cars which get the most praise which really boils my piss are the Supra's and the Odd Skyline... My 3 best friends have jap cars, One has a Supra, one has a GTO and the other an Rx7.. So we are always arguing over who has the best motor.. But, I know the 300zx is the best of the 3 in every way, and I know I am going to sound biased as I own one, but still... The Rx7 with it's wacky engine.. and cramped interior doesn't do it for me.. The Supra is a good car but I still feel that fast and the furious done it the world of good, boosting up prices and popularity, just like the Rx7 for that matter. The GTO, just looks like an MR2 on steroids, and is technically a dodge stealth.. For me, the 300zx has the nicest styling (Exterior and Interior), and thus being further complimented by lamborghini even taking the headlight design into it's diablos.. The Interior is far nicer than any GTO/Supra/Rx7, roomier, better feeling, and passengers have more comfort.. albeit the rear seats are cramped.. but nowhere near as bad as the other 3. I'm no expert when it comes to Engines, but I reckon the VG30DETT is far superior in terms of strength to the other 3. Anyways, my gripe is that the 300zx is such a great car, and a Classic, but the other cars of the same "league" and "generation" The supras, gtos and Rx7s.. just seem to get more praise?.. When they are no where near as good and dont offer the same standards as the ZX... What happened for the 300zx to never get asmuch hype as the others?... Back to what I said earlier about car shows, nobody seems to know much about the ZX either, people always ask me "How Fast is it" and "You don't see many of these around".. I hope the put a ZX in the next fast and furious movie, because I can guarantee everyone will want one and our re-sale prices if we ever chose to sell will rocket up... But I can't see it happening...
