  1. thats the way ive always done it topless
  2. That would be the simplest solution, an air lock in the matrix, well at least ive got something to try tomorrow. Cheers bud, sometimes it takes someone else to state the obvious for you to realise its there
  3. Just a quick reminder that today is Jap Meet at Reading. Bring a wooly jumper, it aint going to be warm!
  4. Nope. It does blow warm air, but only what i would call luke warm. And it doesnt appear to be loosing any coolant anywhere either
  5. Thermostat did cross my mind, but couldnt think of anyway it could link to the heater problem. TBH i dont know if it always been like this, but it has since ive owned it. The defi gauges have a record function, but they were reset just after i bought it, and even then i think it only peaked at 88c.
  6. Peeps, Ive got a very odd problem with my cooling system. It APPEARS to be too efficient. I think i'm right in that the quoted number by nissan for the running temp of the engine is mid 80's degrees C. Now at motorway cruising speed (70 - 75 mph), the car is only getting up to 70c, and the oil temp is only getting to 80c. These reading are being taken from Defi gauges with the appropriate aftermarket sensors, so at the moment ive got no reason the disbeleive the gauges Now the problem with this is that, being a fooking cold time of year, the heater barely gets luke warm, so im freezing my ass off inside the car. the other concern i have is that the oil isnt getting to proper working temperature which may be causing damage to the engine. Any one got any ideas on: a) what is causing this and b) how to remidy it Cheers Nick
  7. Reading is on the M4 poppet! What were you doing around my way without coming round!!!
  8. Yeah i like them, but not a 300. It just looks soooo tacky
  9. Im currently using the Meg's 3 stage in restoring the paint on my zed, and its very good, but the paint cleaner isnt quiet abrasive enough to remove the swirls. Im going to try meg's #4 next and see how it comes along.
  10. Just to give you an idea of what im up against when i say the paint is covered in swirl marks, heres a few pics i took in todays lovely sunshine Boot lid... Rear quarter panel... Drivers Door... Bonnet...  So i wasnt exadurating when i said it was cleaned with a brillo pad!  This is what ive managed to do with the bonnet so far. It looks ok on my camera, but to the naked eye under bright light, there is still signs of swirl marks When i get round to sunbscribing, ill start a journal on this for anyone who is interested in restoring their paint and body work Cheers for the kind comments, fooking love this car Nick
  11. I OWN A ZED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought Col_Almera's zed on Saturday, and by the time i got home (i had come straight of a night duty to go see the car) i was so tired, the excitment level was pretty low. Since then, and alot of sleep, ive just remembered how awesome these cars are! It needs a fair bit of work doing, all of which cosmetic, the whole of the car is covered in swirl marks (looks like someone has cleaned it with a brilo pad!), the wheels need a dam good polish and there is the beginings of a hole is the drivers bolster which i want to get repaired. But as a whole im very happy with this one, and its mechanically sound. Ill post some pics after ive sorted the body work out, with before and after shots, and ill see some of you at the Reading and Phoenix meets in the near future. Happy Days Nick
  12. This morning was lovely as well. I love a morning frost!
  13. Coz hes not subscribed fella
  14. I realise that most are going to the Viginia Water meet, but the phoenix is still on this month. So onto the details SUNDAY the 2rd March from 4pm The Phoenix Inn London Road Phoenix Green Hartley Wintney Hampshire RG27 8RT Here is a link to the pubs web site, which has got a map to help with those not local to the area. http://www.phoenixinn.co.uk/index.html The pub has a long standing tradition of holding car club meets, ranging from the Model T owners club to the Holden Owners Club. Its kiddy friendly, and serves outstanding food. Any questions, dont hesitate to post on here, and I hope to see you there Nick
  15. Ive seen it when leigh had it. Ive not even got the zed yet, but it all depends what i can get for the exhaust that is on it.... good try tho!
  16. Try ZXmech, he's just set up just down the road from us in Andover. But i am hearing good things about ztech again, so it may be worth popping down there again HTH
  17. Apart from the single exit that Leon made, ive never been a fan of custom made exhausts. Ive never seen one that has "factory" quality that you get with someone like BB. My old man has a GTO with custom pipes, and the baffles rattle like a *******. it sounds aweful
  18. I was waiting for that!!!!  Its got a kaikimoto twin exit on it at the moment, and it just doesnt look right. If i had the money i know exactly which exhaust i would put on it. And im fairly sure its the one youd put on yours as well Si. Take a guess.....
  19. Cheers Si. wont be too fussed about the front as ill be changing it to an AbFlug type 4, but i have no intention of putting on skirts. I may modify the rear to it suits a single exhaust like Leigh did, but the stone guard has just got to go!
  20. Something i will be deffinatly be doing on the next zed, getting rid of that horrid stone guard. But, what is the bloody stuff made from? can it just be sanded off/rubbed back so that a fresh smooth paint can go over the top, or is there more to it? How much should i expect to have it done? I know MrFungal himself has had it done, but did they tell you how they did it Si? Cheers in advance Nick
  21. This is a side on view of the same kit on a different car. My fave wide arche kit by absolutally miles!
