non fault accidents (re insurance)
its all down to statistics. Its something to do with if your involved in ANY accident, your apparantly more likely to be involved in another accident within 5 years..... or something like that

Redline MT90 or Royal Purple Syncromax?...
I will be trying Royal Purple engine oil on my next change, which will probably be before Le Man. Out of all the forums ive looked at, ive not read a single bad remark about it. I would do the 'box and diff oils, but they were only changed 20 months ago.

FAO stella
Try keith micheals mate. I went to look at one very similar to this before deciding on the zed again. I got insurance to just below a grand, 25, 5 years NCB, IAM member, no claims or points

Any Martial Artists in here?
I saw that a few hours after i wrote it, was suffering the effects of an ingredient of Mai Tai's, ALCOHOL! If Pay Pall worked id subscribe and be able to edit it! I was trained by Kevin Brewerton whilst doing my 10 years of Lau Gar. Never bothered with belts, couldnt be arsed with the assesments, was more interested in the techniques instead of the bragging rights of what belt i was!

For those that like lag
Not laggy enough for me to be honest. Ive ordered one of these, but fitting in the zed could be an issue...

heater problems, still!!!! gggrrr
Right the heater matrix pipes (ones going through te bulk head) one should be hot and the other warm, but properly warm, not luke warm. TBH mate have you done a proper coolant drain and refil as per the Nissan workshop manual?? I would do that before spending any money on replacing parts. May be worth looking into the possibility of a heater matrix change mate.

Any Martial Artists in here?
Did tae kwon do for 3 years Mai Tai kickboxing for 10 years at the same time as doing Lau Gar kung foo. Knee, ankle and back injuries have taken there toll and i have lost alot of my flexability, so i dont do it any more

Why cant people do things fooking properly!
Ive decided that i am going to move my turbo timer and defi control panel from its current position, sticky taped underneath the heater/washer pod, to in the little cubby hole underneath my head unit. So i take of the panel underneath the steering column off. AND MY FOOKING LORD!!!!! Its a complete mess, the wiring has been completely bodged, scotch blocks, black electric tape, the works. Why is it when people who spend a decent amount of money on good quality kit, and then feel the "that will do" Rover type attitude when it comes to wiring will do. It fooking annoys me!   :headvswal

Ebay bucket seats
Have a word, they cost me £300 a seat!
-
Why so much tax on a GTR?
because they want to price it as a supercar, make it more exclusive.

FAO Stenorth!
Complete thread hi jack i know leigh, but that exhaust that ste has got for sale that he bought from you.... Did you get it from Leon directly or was there some other arrangement. Only reason i ask is i would like to speak to him in the future and discuss a potential design with him. Can you drop me an email fella on torque0fthedevil@hotmail.co.uk Cheers

Ebay bucket seats
I used to have Cobra Daytona in my old pug 205 gti track/road car. For short journeys and track work they were spot on, but anything longer than an hour, because the lumbar supports were so supportive it used to give me back ache right by my kidneys. I have heard good things about OMP seats tho

Any reason NOT to buy this?
Now way in a million years has that car only done 27,000 kilometers!!!! Yea, ok you could say it has been garaged and cherised for all of its life, but i would disagree. Look at the over all condition of the car. Engine bay is minging. The seats have been replaced with leather ones, and as mentioned, without changing the door panels. Just from the pictures you can seen how cracked the leather is in the seats. If you look closely ou can see bubbling in the black lower part of the spoiler. My personal opinion, dont bother

New Turbo Advice Please...
Ill be keeping an eye on your motor then joel. Ideally id love to be able to run mid 400bhp figures reliably, so at the moment GT525's are looking ideal for the job. Keep us updated matey

Few questions
not sure about GTRs, but i know GTS-Ts fit fine
-
airlock in cooling system...maybe?
do you get gurglling when the engine is running? I get it when i turn the engine off, which you can only hear inside the car. But mines a series 4, so i didnt think they had AIV's?!? I did have an air lock, which i thought i got out as my heater is now working again.

Yeah, ive pretty much planned my road trip in '09 with it in conjunction with M'soft Autoroute. My zed is too recent to be on it, but i can see my FireBlade outside my house. Great little gadget!

Ways to up boost
Thats very true. well it may just be the case, that purely and simply, i have strong engine. And thats something i dont intend on winging about!!! :duffer: To be honest, upping the boost is the very last thing i intend to do (unlike last time where i was a power hungry 21 year old). This time everything is going to be in place before upping the boost, ie 555's uprated SMIC's, Full GTR brake set up etc. Looks like i may have struck gold with this one, but only time will tell :wack:

Ways to up boost
See i knew 9 psi was standard, hence saying the boost has been upped. Im taking my readings of defi gauges, and it boosts consistantly a 10.5 psi, and holds at this setting rather than a small amount of overboost then dropping down to 9 psi, regardless of the ambient temperature. Ill have to look at the ecu tomorrow. Has any one got a picture showing the difference between the 16bit and 32bit ecu's. As mentioned by Ste, would be interested to see. TBH this car is deffinatly quicker than my old zed when they were both at this state of tune (filter and cat back exhaust). My old zed dyno'd at 296bhp fwhp and this one has been dyno'd and 310 fwhp, so this extra 15 hp has got to have come from somewhere (cant remember what the torque figure was on my old one, but ive got the dyno sheet for this car somewhere so ill have a look in the morning) cheers for the responses Nick
