compression test
because the compression gauge holds its peak reading until you release the pressure by pressing the little button on the side

compression test
First of all, do it when the engine is warm. Secondly remove the fuse for the fuel, its in the little fuse box in the top left hand corner of the engine in a row of 4 or 5 fuses, its the one on the far right. Oh and do them on full throttle, ie then you turn the engine over do it with the accelerator on the floor. You should only need the to the engine over 4 or 5 cycles for it to show full compression. If you get a low reading on a cylinder (anything below 140psi), poor a tiny bit of oil into the cylinder. If this improves the reading, your looking at piston rings, if not i think its headgasket or poor valve seating. HTH and fingers crossed for you fella

Product Test: Meguair's Hot Rims wheel cleaner
I would say yes it is, because it is a foam rather than a liquid, and stays as a foam as you agitate it. I have double checked the back of the bottle, and it says ALL painted, powder coated, polished, unpolished and aluminium wheels, unlike Wonder Wheels, which i believe says is not safe to use on split rims. HTH

Product Test: Meguair's Hot Rims wheel cleaner
This may be helpfull to some and not others, but hey, i thought id do it anyway. Im normally a "wonder wheels" faithfull but i thought id try something new on my wheels. I'm pretty fond of the whole Meguair's range so i thought id give their "Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner" a crack. Firstly, i know my wheels dont appear that dirty. But all the brake dust and grime you can see on the wheel is well and truely ground in and not something that would come off with a wipe with a sponge (trust me i tried :headvswal ) Right, i started off with just giving the wheel a good rinse with the hose to get rid of any of the loose debris that was sitting on the surface of the wheel ...and a close up showing the ground in kack Then i sprayed on the wheel cleaner, which comes out as a foam.. I let this soak for about 30 - 45 seconds (Bottle recommends 15 - 30 but i decided to spark up a fag :x: ) I then used a wheels brush to agitate the cleaner. This foamed up even more, just like wonder wheels does when you use the brush. I then gave it a good rinse.. and the results after 1 use of the stuff.. ^^^^ Also notice the brake caliper, it has cleaned them up as well^^^ As you can see on this one, the brake dust has corroded the wheels quiet badly on the painted part of the wheels causing pitting, but TBH you have to look closely to really notice You can also see that it has left some of the corroding behind on the "polished" part of the rim, but overall it has made a good dent in removing alot of the corrosion. My verdict, to be honest, I find it alot less work using this rather than wonder wheels, and i think the whole process is quicker, especially as the cleaner already comes out as a foam and requires less aggitation than wonder wheels. The next step of sorting these wheels out will be to attack them with 1200 grade Wet and Dry. Once ive done that, ill do a side by side comparison of Autosol and Meguairs NXT Gen metal wax. Hope this has provided some people food for thought when they choose there next wheel cleaning product. Cheers Nick

Stuck at Gatwick
it got worse, made the mistake of coming home via the A3. Jesus wept the road works down there are insane. Its just chicane after chicane of cones after scamera after bloody scamera. Normally it wouldnt bother me, but being so tired it just wound me up. And then Basil Brush and Bambi decided to join in on the fun and try and get a look inside my bonnet. Yesterday was NOT a good day. Now to wash the car and relax

SC Convoy to Z008
Guys and Gals, As its only a couple on months away now, i thought it may be nice if we could get a decent convoy together for the trip to Z008. Now obviously some people will be going on the Friday, some will be going on the Saturday and the rest only going for the sunday. To give an idea of numbers without having to traul through the pages and pages of the Z008 thread, can i ask ALL SC members who are planning to go to Z008 add themselves to the below lists so I can see which days are worth setting up convoys for. Friday 1. 2. 3. Saturday 1. Nickz32 2. 3. Sunday 1. 2. 3. Cheers :nana2:

To Buy Or Not To Buy
Not wanting to be a kill joy mate, but at 17 years old you should be looking a building up your driving experience in lesser power cars before jumping into a zed. The last thing me or anyone else would want to see is another lad killed or seriously injured in a powerfull car. There a well known phrase that is often used in my line of work "Driving ability does not increase with wallet size". Yes, you may be able to afford to buy insure and run something like a zed, but unless you have built up a some proper experience in driving performance vehicles, and i dont mean " i drove my mates skyline once", im talking advanced training, your taking a very very big risk. The main point im trying to make, is think very seriously at what your contemplating, and just ask yourself are you really prepared for driving a high performance vehicle, and if you come to the answer of yes, please FFS be sensible and stay safe, because this car WILL bite. engagement ring
Just a quick note, IF you do go for platinum, you will HAVE to have platinum wedding ring and eternity ring. Platinum will eat away at any gold ring. Not 100% sure why, but i have seen the result of platinum and gold together and it does just eat away at the gold. Best of luck to you mate, took my 4 years to decide to propose to missus. Ended up buying a ring in Mexico, whilst on holiday, for a months wages, got it valued here at 4x of what i paid for it.

Peeps, Just a quick reminder. This months reading Jap Meet is on the TUESDAY the 18th March from 1830 onwards. Its located off Jnc 11 M4 and head towards Reading Town Centre along the A33. Look for Reading Gate Retail Park as B&Q, in front of Reading Madjeski Football Stadium. I wont be able to make this one unfortunatly due to work commitments, but hopefully some of you will be able to make it. We had 7 zeds last month which was a good showing, hopefully we can get a few more this month. Cheers Nick
