Im sorry, but it makes absolutally no sense to delete a region because its members didnt attend the meets set up by its REO. Bar the national meets, the Surrey Rolling Road and Virginia Waters meet was probably the two most attended Non National meets in the WHOLE country. It has been a loooooooong time since ive seen any other region hold meets with 15+ zeds at meets. Through the whole time i ran the SC section, the most i ever managed to gather was 11 at Goodwood, every other meet was between 3 and 6 cars. No offence to ivan, but maybe a new REO was needed to freshen up the region with some new ideas and meets. To delete such a huge region just doesnt make sense, and how in gods name does it "clutter up to forum" when we have soooooooooooo many other regions and sub forums, getting rid of a couple of regions isnt going to make the slightest dent in decluttering the forum

SC Crew, Due to a large amount of significant events within my personal life, i am no longer able to provide the commitment that i feel an REO should be able to provide the the regions memebers. As a result i shall be stepping down as your REO with immeadiate effect I know i havent been the most popular REO, but i have enjoyed the time i have had within the role. Get some pics up, tbh the way youve described it it sounds more like micro blisters within the paint rather than orange peel. Orange peel can be sorted using wet and dry, you want to start with something very very weak, ie 3000 grit. You always start with the weakest combination and see where you stand, then step it up if it doesnt have the desired effect. Microblisters on the other hand are a different kettle of fish. If theyre in the clear coat, you should be ok if your VERY carefull, if its in the colour coat, the only solution is a respray. HTH Nick

Got to sort out cam cambelt idler, and looking into some suspension parts, and saving hard for my brake upgrade and wheels

If the fuel hasnt already seeped passed the rings and you get the starter motor fitted, then ive always used the "blow it out" technique" ie, pull the coils and spark plugs out and turn the engine over, and itll blow the fuel out the spark plug hole, crude but effective

Defi gauges (water temp, boost, oil temp) fitted because stock gauges are shite

To be honest mate, your going to get so many suggestions, your head will spin. I think the most popular are: Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Bridgestone RE050 Toyo Proxes T1-R Continental Sport Contact 2 Falken FK452 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 Personally ive ran the falkens for the last year, and for a budget performance tyre, theyre pretty dam good, but dont seem to give the same feedback that the higher end tyres do. Ive just had the PS 2's fitted today, and they feel really good so far, but time will tell. TBH it depends on you budget. I dont think i explained the point we noticed with the ABS too well, its not how quick the ABS kicked in, i would say on all three cars observing from the outside, the ABS kicked in at the correct time. The big, no, mahoooosive difference was the speed in which the abs operated on the zed in comparison to the merc. The zed was a very noticeable (from inside and standing outside) on-of-on-of-on-of, whilst the merc was sooooooooooo quick at applying releasing and reapplying, it was easily milliseconds between each application of the brakes. I can only tell you that i know my brakes are in good working order, like i said before, i gave the average results instead of the best performance that was recorded. Agreed a few of us may have "like new brakes", but the vast majority of zed owners dont, so this deffinatly gives info to the masses more than anything else. Thats EXACTLY what all 3 of us said. The whole point of this was giving people independant results of 3 random zeds, all 3 of which are in a dam sight better condition than some of the zeds that are floating about (no offence intended), an independant test against a brand new vehicle, and the differences found between them

After mondays reconstruction day the the Collision Investigation Unit at TRL, one of the tests that were conducted was the braking abilities of the 300zx. The standard was set by a fully laiden 58 reg Mercedes Vito van, with a gross weight of 3 tonnes. 3 300zx's were used in the test. I cannot personally vouch for the condition of the other 2 zeds brakes, but i can confirm that following a check 6 weeks ago, my brakes are in full working condition with no seized pistons etc etc etc. The conditions were slightly damp, and the same bit of tarmac was used for the runs, so therefore i have given the average figures. The test was conducted at 30mph, using a fixed braking point for each run. Here are the Results: Merc Vito Van generated 0.96G's The average braking force generated was 0.69G's and a braking distance a ful 14 FEET FURTHER that the Vito Van. Now thinking it isnt unusual to see these types of vehicles in the outside lane of the motorway, i think its pretty disconcerting to know that it will stop 14 feet shorter than you at just 30mph, never mind average cruising speeds in the outside lane of a motorway!!!!! The biggest thing we notice was how inadequate the zeds ABS system is in comparison to a modern car, the zeds abs is sooooooooo slow at braking and releasing in comparison to a modern car. TBH i find the Scooby STi seats bloody comfy and very supportive

You now have the have a Flourescent jacket, first aid kit and a reflective hazard triangle, which i think im right in thinking the last two is standard equipment in the boot of the beemer (i know it has been for the last 4 years). You also need a Green Card as well
