  1. Hence why it is my run around car while i build my zed :thumbup::thumbup:
  2. You can always lock it with the keys if needed for a quick run in. The thing i like about my turbo timer is it will work out how much time it needs to cool down as it is connected into all the relevant wires to work this out and you just have to calibrate it a little. Therefore im not waiting say 2 minutes as i know when i pull up how much time i need and can get out the car when it is on say 10 seconds
  3. Had a drive of it myself and all checked out fine. I had my checklist from the gto site and all looked good
  4. Temperature gauge is a good indication. Once the car is at working temp then you cant start pushing a bit more. Its pretty much makes sense you wouldnt drive off and start flooring her straight away. As for cool down see the other thread as to what mine reads from different driving situations.
  5. Well i think they are good as i can be happy that my turbos have cooled down before i turn the car off and hence prevent damage. If i have just come off the motorway and pull up straight away it will be on about 2 minutes but then again by the time you have come off and got to where ever you are parking mine is normally down to zero or about 30 seconds. I too cant arm the alarm but i dont jump out the car as soon as i park ready to head off so as i walk away i arm the car once its stopped.
  6. welcome mate :)
  7. I might take the GTO down there :)
  8. where is the rad and where do u live? Ah just looked thats the wrong side of London to me
  9. I emailed a few people looking for a dog and all the emails were very similar to this and everyone seems to be relocating to shetlands islands from the emails i got. Thats alot of dogs on one island
  10. Someone showed this the other day and i thought it looked like a zed why drive on the grass crazy stuff
  11. Im working tomorrow which is a pain but i dont get bank holidays off anyway its the joys of working in the Army :(
  12. Wow thats impressive im good but not that good
  13. Just put a deposit down on a GTO took the buyers guide with me and was a very genuine guy. The car checks out fine with no turbo issues and a couple of faults that will be quite easy to sort and we dealed on £1000. I know that people that are aware will find this very cheap however the car checked out fine and this is a genuine bargin so im very chuffed with myself. Couldnt see me driving about in an economical car anyway :) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230516583396&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  14. I was looking at a GTO as a second car as my main money is being focused on my other zed so i will looking at a mk1 and saw that the tubs are different between UK and JDM
  15. From what i have found difference between JDM GTO and UK 3000GT is the turbos with the JDM one having smaller tubs. Obviously spool up times are gonna be different does that mean different powers as well?
  16. Its horrible ruins the lines of a zed and hopefully the only ever one made!!!! It wasnt me Si made me say it :lol::lol: Its different reminds me of one of the Abflug ones and gives a good unique look. If everyone went for the same it would be no fun
  17. havent seen it thanks alot Dave :)
  18. its 3 litre twin turbo just been and had a look at it but the guy had just popped out. It needs a good clean but looks like an older sensible person that drives it so hopefully not been thrashed. The local car wash place near me is very good for 50 quid and will polish and hover and all sorts so could get it looking new. There is no mods on it what so ever got standard alloys on it and all. Was imported in 95 so hasnt had all our salt over it for many years. He wants a grand after a guy from Scotland offered him a grand and then realised that it wasnt Royston near Barnsley. Will have to start to negotiate only wanted to pay out 800.
  19. Ah ive been looking at a soarer too. Its completely standard from what i have seen and on 98k miles which some of them are miles so does seem to be quite good. Maybe i have found a good deal gonna go interrogate him :)
  20. Hey folks im just looking at the above car its an import in 1995 twin turbo manual. Was after pointers of common faults to look out for as im sure there is a few people on here that have had them or have got them. Im a mechanic so you dont need to break it right down i was just after common problems. Oh i do now that the active spoiler light is coming on but it isnt working if anyone had any clues on this and the passenger window isnt woring probably but i am more than capable of sorting the window :) Thanks for the help Marty
  21. It will be black once ive built mine :)
  22. I was just thinking the same thing and trying to work the years out :confused1:
  23. Thats a good price im looking at that for about 4 meters too. I think ill get 5 just to be safe as thats all the stock he has and will do for the future if i need to do anything else
  24. Oh right i did see it then yes. The spoiler is £180 from Abflug ill see what they can do for postage and also another firm in Japan and i understand about import tax but i will wait to hear from them first.
