  1. buy a proper trolley jack not these skinny minny things from halfauds clarke do a good one for around £50 heavy duty with quick lift action
  2. leave box in PITA when reinstalling as a pair :)
  3. Never understand why people remove the plenum when pulling the engine WTF you on :smash:  :) like you say its not rocket science but your better off saying that when you have stripped and rebuilt an engine! iv seen someone who pays someone else to rebuild an engine, cant beat DIY more satisfaction.
  4. always worth replacing a timing part, cheaper than a set of replacment heads :(

    midland turbo cough
  6. i did not mean NA master cylinders and clutch boosters in one meaning, sorry andy it was probably the way i put it! i meant NA master cylinders and TT clutch boosters are like rocking horse shit, so hes better buying a new part infact **** the idea of an NA pedal just buy a ****ing clutch booster for your TT :wack:
  7. nope anyone got theres yet ^bumpage^
  8. also you may have to alter the pipework from the master cylinder as it enters at a differant angle on the NA setup, you could go custom braided line with m10 x1mm each end from slave-master, but just find a clutch booster, new idealy as both NA master cylinders and clutch boosters are rocking horse shit :)
  9. thats what a clutch booster aids, it takes the energy out of your leg and is assited via intake pressure, so your thinking the opposite using a TT clutch with a NA master cylinder will mean no assistance= hard pedal as old zed has already said :) not much fun in traffic, you will also walk wonky down the high street as one leg will be stronger than the other ;) LOL from all the that leg work just to clarify its the master cylinder from an NA which you need, this then passes through the firewall and connects to the pedal via clevis pin, but you will also need an NA pedal as this has the two threaded bolts that pass from master to pedal greg
  10. thanks steve ;) si, sorry iv not called, but seemed to have a better connection now!and been hectic with my new job greg
  11. thats nothing try an RPS MAX clutch with no clutch booster assistance, i tell ya you would get out the car in traffic and call the RAC to get you LMAO
  12. happy birthday dudes :)
  13. it doesnt really matter what bank you fit however the lead on the OS bank is longer to attach to the side of the bank , but they work the same which ever way around you fit them. so think short lead passenger side and longer lead driverside NA and TT are the same.
  14. it wont mak a blind bit of differance if for example the mating surface between the head and cam is damaged, every pully or oil seal you fit, it will always leak! so it could be that! or if your using cheap non OEM cam seals, they tend to act like a sieve  finally on a standard engine an aftermarket ajustable pully will effect performance and you will loose the low end grunt without VVTC there is a way of keeping vvt however fitting a perm feed to it may cause engine issues in the longterm especially oil starvation to the topend, vvt works at certain rpm intervals if its permanantly working then work it out.
  15. do you mean it sounds like when you open a can of fizzy pop, as thats normal its just pressure escaping most cars will do it, unless theres a leak in the systym or IIRC carbon cannister is removed. Then its just fine ;)
  16. no toolbars si and still real slow dial up as per PM il be in touch cheers bud greg
  17. evening, any pc gurus who can help will be mucho appreciated! Basically iv been waiting for my broadband connection to take place, and in the meantime iv been using tiscali pay as you go 56k dial rubbish! However my broadband package has arrived over the last couple of days, so iv removed the dial up conection dowloaded the install CD and fitted my new voyager 2110 wireless ADSL router. After lots of ducking about getting the connection started im online! However the connection is meant to be 8meg but looking on network connections im only getting 4.1meg but seems to be improving, now here is the problem firstly the connection is real slow only slightly better than dial up! and at the top of IE page it says IE is powered by tiscali when infact im using talktalk so WTF iv deleted every part of the tiscali dial up package yet this leads me to believe that the dial up is still in use when it cant be as my line is free for making and recieving calls  even 4meg should be fast  cheers greg
  18. Incase stu dont reply in his case the circlip/s failed and damaged his block so i dont think he would recomend them, for an alternative arias make a nice set of pistons and the circlips wind in rather than press in, meaning you can connect them to the rods in a matter of seconds rather than minutes/hours lol they cost a bit more, but peace for mind and all that. cheerz, greg
  19. happy birthday to the both of you for yesterday! ;)
  20. sounds like your mechanic has got a couple of hoses confused OS rear of plenum, it could be he has connected your boost gauge hose somewhere else easy fix although easier when you know where they are. if the hose has come off the egr unit itself it can be a pain to reach down the back to reconect it, but it is there and curable! best bit of advice is to get yourself to one of the nereast traders to yourself, have a look in the traders section, it should only take someone who knows where they all go 5min to check and reconnect. as for oil leak, if the heads have been removed then i expect one of the oil feeds is leaking from NS or OS turbo but again can be diagnosed from underside of car on a ramp or axle stands, it could even be the oil return which is a simple fix. HTH greg
  21. traggic, condonences to all
  22. sounds great but with air rushing back through the blades causes some stall and slight lag, TBH not really that noticable, and also in time it will damage shafts with time but it does sound better than any recirc or DV ;)
  23. greggoldrick@aol.com greg300zx@hotmail.com il let you know via email ANOTHER ONE ON THE WAY :smw: :o :D
