  2. he has a fettish for carbon whats wrong with that lol hes trying to make the car lighter, so his big frame dont hinder performance :x: :duffer:
  3. and a V for get out my friggin way :D
  4. thats why he has no hair the wind has blown it away! :nelson:
  5. the older the car the more likely electrical connectors become brittle, the amount of early 300s with broken brittle looms are more aparent its the norm with a v6 engine and lack of room means heat kills hoses and connectors, as birks has said early S1 ptus can fail, but a series 2 ptu can be brought for around $150 so no major concern, they say real early 300s 89-90 had bottom end failures but im sure they used the same bearings as later models, and no proof other than age or mileage would say differant, best thing to do is buy the best you can find, dont rush in to it, take someone with you who knows what there looking at, and finally read a buyers guide to check yourself for any niggles, at the end of the day its a car and does the same thing as any other one! t-tops can leak but its not down age as such more chance some leak and some go on for 15-20 years with no faults, check for damp in footwells or on seats and behind a-pillar trims not a major problem, and fairly straight forward to fix
  6. well yeh, but you will end up with loss of hearing from his exhausts

your right but it all depends on how much of a life the car has had! and how well its been serviced, turbos dont last forever though obviously! such a job is engine out, so cars get slated for that very reason, there no differant to say a skyline except most jobs are more simple in the fact you have more room and less cuts on your fingers.
  8. yeh the valves have been swapped over mate 80bhp in a 1500kg car would be awesome marcus :D 60bhp per ton :duffer:
  9. its normal to rev high from cold until the iac settles, it basically works like a thermostat once engine reaches temprature it will setlle down and ajust itself, if idle remains high once up to temp, it might be worth cleaning the throttle bodies out http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/tb/tb.html ajusting the IAA scew may help settle the RPM @idle if at operating temp its stil to high it should idle between 750-900rpm http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/iaa/iaa.html greg
  10. :p rolling shell then?get that astra engine in to it, might be slow, but at least it will go :D

court or caught? yes to both counts your honour :D
  12. because they can bud, its crap really, its like some turbo companys charge £200 for a recon unit and others £400 for a recon unit, all the parts come from a main company like say for instance turbo tecnics supply midland turbo yet midland charge less than turbo tecnics work that out  on a smaller scale you pay less for a Baily dump valve opposed to a HKS one so its down to brands and because us the public will pay! :(

  17. its fine to add a small cup ful maybe the size of your nans teacup lol, leave in for 30mins make sure you empty it out though as before long it will eat engine seals. Its certainly fine iv done it a few times and it does work sometimes, depending oh now severe, i would do an oil change anyway but i would defiantly try the ATF take the revs up to around3-4k rpm sometimes it can clear up tapping within mins, so worth a go!not guaranteed but again worth a shot ;)
  18. shes still warm alright!, she called dyno rod and got me so yep shes still warm :D
  19. thats better you can see through the wrinkles really :duffer: tell her you need to come back soon for a service every 6months, make sure its al working like it says on the tin
  20. try a small cup of ATF bud, get engine up to temp, leave runnng for a short while, drain out and replace oil and filter. Sometimes helps quiten the lifters, only takes 1 to be sticky, and can be very noisy! failing that you could disconnect the vvt leads one by one, if noise dissapears then you can pinpont to a vvt problem opposed to a lifter one.
  21. :D and get a hand job :D bud give in to the grey hanging fish flaps. and think of the mofo :nelson:
