  1. I may have a look at mine at the weekend. It is possible that this was a bit of a manufacturing defect/tolerance/finishing thing on this guys car. If it was such an obvious problem on all cars then I'm sure that people would have noticed it in the past. I have heard of people boring out the throttle bodies, so it was been looked at in the past.
  2. Details and pretty pics here :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/ma/012.gif (RTFM - LOL ;))
  3. That would be the same waiter who just broke the law by taking the card away and not scanning the card in front of you ! Still it will all change soon and we will have a development of the French system where people will enter a PIN into an electronic gadget, rather than sign a piece of paper.

I think SE quote 'from' £125, but that may be the basic cost, more will be if it is custom mapped. See the attachment below for how you choose between JWT and SE. Done with my car on the same dyno, same day, runs a couple of minutes apart, car setup is very similar to yours by the sound of it, had an auto box at the time though. Don't have a direct comparision for the MINES or any others, BUT AFAIK all Jap chips will be mapped for their 100RON fuel, Optimax is 98.5, mine runs on std unleaded, 95RON.
  5. Virtually impossible unless you happen to have a contact in Japan. However it is possible to verify whether the car it was it says on the VIN plate. If you email me a photo of that plate then I can do that for you.
  6. The white (silver?) instrument cover ?

SE do 'standard' chips which would be appropriate for a given car setup. Basic model is just exhaust and intake + boost upgrade, just like JWT. Only as you already the the ECU socketed then it'll be a damn sight cheaper.

Would the Blitz ECU be setup for UK fuel ? If not it's probably better to avoid it. Quite a few people here will have JWT and a few others will have SE, there will even be a couple of MINES. I *know* the SE ones are setup for UK fuel and mine runs very nicely thank you.
  9. They tend to have colossal torque, but the BHP is not that high. Friend of mine had a 5.0l Mustang (one of the ones that looked a bit like a Ford Escort) and it was only 150BHP.
  10. That makes sense to me - I always make more mistakes when dawdling.
  11. It stops sparking !
  12. What the car or the women ? ;)
  13. Friend of mine used to have a nasty little King Charles spaniel that used to jump up and try to bite your nuts. It became known as Fidel. As in Fidel Castro, the dick taker ! :D
  14. Oi, Macca, who you ****ing calling a Hippo !?! LOL :)
  15. How much difference do you expect it to make ? The car won't run perfectly with either a dead O2 sensor or them disconnected. Resetting the ECU after disconnection may make more difference, but you really want to get the dead'un replaced ASAP.
  16. It's usually nothing to do with the resistors. What I usually do is resolder every joint on the board, paying special attention to the links between the double sided board - the quality of manufacturing on most of the clocks is terrible !
  17. Just as a slightly gay guess I'd say that it's an aftermarket switch for something like one of those little electric parking aerial type thinks that they often use in Japan
  18. Would be much funnier if your name was Barfield ! LOL :D
  19. IIRC AON are the underwriters for the Lifesure 'classic' policy, which does permit travel to/from work ?!?
  20. Yes, green light on the LH side of the dash IIRC
  21. Just to make you feel better .... it is possible that the faulty injector has caused lean running, over heating and burnt valve ... Has he proven that the injector works ?

I suspect there may be a bit of urban legend in this story now. I used to live in Hatfield and the whole area was pretty much dominated by the aircraft industy (De Haviland/Hawker Sidley/British Aerospace etc) and about 15 years ago I heard exactly the same story only with the RR changed to BA.
  23. I have the same problem, but I think mine is because the neutral switch on the gearbox has not been connected and the car permanently thinks it's in neutral, so the cruise is disabled.
  24. How many of them are fakes ! LOL :D
