  1. If it's an eggy smell then it's bound to be something to do with sulphur in the fuel. UK fuel has less sulphur these days so just thrash the car around on Optimax for a couple of weeks and I'm sure most of the smell will go away, certainly when the car is hot anyway. Better still, get de-cat pipes.
  2. Yep, double check the earth connections on the battery and to the bodywork.
  3. Yes, I have and it wasn't too difficult. In fact the inside wasn't even dirty so it was mostly a waste of time, except that it gives you the oppotunity to clean the green crud off the electrical connections. Top tip is to take the battery out to gain access.
  4. IIRC Japan does not use salt on the roads, hence much less rust.
  5. It's not pinking a bit, is it ?
  6. Sorted. PM/email Herman your address etd for the membership pack.
  7. Think I'd go for one of these :- http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/c765uz.html
  8. Can you use normal mild steel arc rods on stainless ?
  9. Fitting is not too difficult, but getting the camber set correctly is the tricky part. So you either need to attempt to measure it yourself, install the correct shims, measure again and then take it for the alignment centre, or find a very patient alignment centre and get them to do it for you.
  10. ... I think. Well near to M5 junct 27 anyway.
  11. Bunch of saddos talking about dishwashers etc. :D However, I believe they can be very useful for washing stuff like gearbox castings etc when the Mrs is out shopping ! ;)
  12. Isn't there a risk of scrtaching the paint if a little bit of grit remains ?
  13. G ??? BGS or something similar. Sure I recognised that plate, so it must be someone from here.
  14. Checked back and I actually emailed Mike on the 18th, so he must have missed it. Following up ...
  15. You did too and I paid it in. I'm sure I asked Mike to do the honours but there is just a possibility that I forgot, if so, very sorry. Will sort it ASAP.
  16. A fairly common problem around the wilds of Herts and Essex, especially along the country roads. Sometimes see a whole herd of them here.
  17. OK, Mike should sort you out soon then.
  18. How did you pay ? Paypal ?
  19. Too right, thinking of going back to my original for some 'exclusivity' ! LOL :D
  20. Mine didn't come colour coded and the part numbers are here :- http://www.300zx.org.uk/common_part_nos.htm Incidentally, I think I had the first 99 spec fitted in the country - so you're all a bunch of copy cats - yah, boo sucks !
  21. But you said :- So am I misunderstanding something or is there a terminology difference between thicker/thinner and viscosity ? So colder means thinner on startup and warmer means flows better (= lower viscosity or thinner)
  22. OK, soooooo ... why do manuals always suggest that you change the oil when warm/hot, so that it flows out better ? Or is this just a historical thing from the dim and distant past before decent multigrades were developed ?
  23. Tried them last year but they wouldn't even quote on a Zed !
  24. Well the Z has become my daily driver since my Xantia munched it's head gasket a week or so ago. 130,000 miles and was going strong until that point. Fixing the gasket was easy until I discovered that one of the head bolts had already been sheared off by a previous mechanic, who also manged to put the wrong length bolt in one hole which has broken through the crank casing into one of the waterways. So right now it a very dead and sad looking paperweight. Need another engine, plus the inclination and enthusium to fit it ......
