  1. I used to use Hyperformance, before I realised there were other more competitive companies. One year they basically added about £500 to my premium "because they'd stopped dealing with Norwich Union" and the only alternative was more expensive. I had to wonder, which broker would stop dealing with one of the largest insurance companies in the UK ?
  2. Also, the heat may affect the component in the gauge, leading to a less reliable reading when it gets hot (and old).
  3. You want to be careful about rust around the suspension mounting, it could be more seriuos than it looks and it could be an expensive MOT failure (not to mention potentially unsafe).
  4. Traditional advice was that on freshly applied paint you should use nothing more than cold water for a couple of months, until it's hardened properly, unless of course it was baked on. Dunno whether that's any different form 2-pack etc
  5. You need to give me the text and contact details etc that you want added to the info section. Plus Macca needs to post his introduction part.
  6. Sorry mate, have been busy trying to resurect my dead Xantia and Mike is off on holiday !
  7. Nice - you obviously didn't let Jock spray it for you ! :D LOL
  8. If you're going to re-install an original chip, then go for as late a one as possible. Taking into account the changes over the years such as EGR etc.
  9. A poor old disabled pensioner with a 500+bhp motor ! LOL :D
  10. Obviously the roundabout things ! Plebs who drive at 30mph on 60 mph country roads at night and then 50mph through 30mph villages just because there are street lights.
  11. No, just a bit more 'up front' than normal ! :D
  12. LOL. Wish I still had that Mac1 Stilton beast pic ..... ;)
  13. I tried cleaning mine and a) it wasn't dirty and b) it made no difference anyway. The problem, which would normally be displayed by any diag tool such as ConZult, techtom etc, is that the electrical connection is poor. So cleaning the contacts is what you really need to do. However, I reckon that is virtually impossible whilst it's still on the car.
  14. Mike, Emailed you the info on Saturday.
  15. Sorry, can't remember, it's a while since I last removed it.
  16. You have to get the battery out, but apart from that it's just perseverence. I would recommend buying new rubber hoses, that way you can cut the old ones off, which will have gone very hard by now.

Wouldn't have thought that ally was the ideal material to make props, but I guess it could be done. Will probably end up weighing nearly as much as a steel one though.
  18. Looks like you've been sorted. Welcome !

  20. Hey, self emptying ashtray and bin etc - cool !
  21. Both sides when the fuses are intact ! LOL :D
  22. Chris, I'll sort you one out and bung it in the internal mail, unless you just want me to send you the .iso and then you can burn it yourself.
  23. I'm off to Philadelphia on Monday, will be back Friday/Saturday morning though ...
