QueasyJet aren't much better. I have often noticed that their scales read quite differently to my very accurate bathroom scales at home.
  2. Yep, that's probably Crucials biggest selling point for non-experts - their Memory Assessment Tool.
  3. I was under the impression that the auto/learning mode didn't work with twin turbos - could be wrong though ....
  4. ECU pin seven is the tacho wire and is yellow with red spots/stripes. It is located four wires to the left of the centre bolt on the top row (viewing the loom with the bolt section raised upward) Note: this refers to looking at the ECU with harness connected from the harness/wiring side - ensure you note the raised section around the bolt- and correspond to the correct ECU wire double checking the colour is correct. You don't need to disconnect the ECU loom from the ECU, just remove the white plastic protector.
  5. At no point did he say this was running from a car -he said a 12v supply ! ;)
  6. Reckon you got that wrong in some way, I think it's 100 ohm for each row of 5 LEDs.
  7. If that's the spec, then that's what you need. It is arguable that Crucial could be better quality though than some nondescript stuff from an unknown retailer.
  8. Well if you've swapped the gauge then that's not the problem. Check the wiring and the connection to the sensor itself.
  9. How about this bloke who was on the telly last night, and yet 'kept his private life a secret from his workmates" ! http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/reality-tv/mr-miss-world-coming-to-channel-4/ http://www.talenttv.com/our_productions_mr_miss_world.php Some of them were 'frighteningly attractive' ! :hurl:

  11. Well if the standard resistor is 1/8 Watt and you are going to run 8-10 LEDs off it, then you should replace it with a 1 Watt version.
  12. Thinking about it, you could probably use one if you wired them in parallel, but it would have to be a much higher wattage rating. At least I think that would work ....
  13. Error codes is first obviously. Could check for boost leaks, water temp sensor and coil pack connectors as well though ...
  14. It's gonna look like the space shuttle in there !
  15. Not a problem. Welcome back !
  16. No it wasn't, that was just coincidence. It did strike me as ironic at the time though ... ;)
  17. Have we heard from this guy yet ?
  18. Another Z with electrical problems ! :D http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6559373.stm
  19. If you have a chip that was originally based on an auto map, then that could cause the code 54 - nothing to worry about.
  20. If there was nothing from the starter motor when turning the key then it's not the PTU. Sounds more like an alarm/imobiliser glitch to me.
  21. Try Mike Feeney, he might have swapped his for an aftermarket one.
  22. If it's red and flickers then it could be either handbrake warning or brake fluid level.
  23. MJP / Mike Feeney. The valves are quite cheap (£10 perhaps?) and the pipes will come separately.
  24. Get Greddy used to use those chips, dunno who made the for him though.
  25. Don't worry about the 'black water', water is a byproduct of burning petrol. When it's hot you don't notice the steam, but what you're getting is the steam condensing in the cold exhaust and washing out some soot.
