  1. The sensors in the turbo manifold are O2/lambda sensors and need to be there. The ones in the Cats are temp sensors and can be junked.
  2. What makes you think it's a 'bmark' chip and what does the label look like ?

Welcome back Harve, for his now annual "hello again" post ! :D
  4. If you have poor earths on the car (and fancy a bit of bling) then they may make a difference to smoothness of running etc.
  5. Technically, it's only the throttle bodies that are heated rather than cooled. I guess it's to prevent throttle body icing.
  6. And this :- http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=880107
  7. We're both a bit far away for you ! Think I read this :- http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/16304.html before I did mine.
  8. It's only bypassing the hoses under the plenum, not the heater matrix ones at the back. I did mine but the plenum was off at the time which makes it a bit easier.
  9. Yes, that is the correct plug on the AAC. Have you checked for vacumn leaks ?
  10. We can try and have a look this evening Joel.
  11. You wouldn't be the first person this has happened to !
  12. I'll see how it goes. The dust shield is already history, have to make room for the larger discs. The handbrake shoe pin thing is tight - damn tight, but I think I can get away without removing it.
  13. Sounds like we have the same problem, drivers side OK, passenger side stuck. So can you beat hell out of it without damaging the diff ? I can deal with sacrificing a driveshaft if I have to.
  14. Well that explains the smoke then !

Can't make it I'm afraid. Z is still in bits. :(
  17. As a guide the CAS adjustment screw should be smack in the middle of the slot when the timing is at 15 deg BTDC. If it's not then something else is wrong somewhere.
  18. Need to get my hubs off and one of the driveshafts is stuck - proper stuck. The manual says 'a few light taps with a hammer to loosen off the splines or resort to a puller'. Well I moved from light taps to carefully directed thuds with a sledgehammer and have now bent a 2 jaw puller as well. The splines are clearly rusted on, although the other side which had just the merest dust of surface rust came off easily. Any ideas ? Current plan of last resort is to try and remove the hub & driveshaft in one piece and either see if they can be separated then or buy new ones from a breaker ...
  19. I've fixed a few of these, generally a bit of a fiddly pig to do. What tends to happen is that the central connector under the socket snaps off the board. If you can get a new socket it's a pretty straightforward replacement.
  20. Actually you came to Karen's house in Middlewich, I live in Essex, but I'm generally in the NW about every other weekend.
  21. No, that's just for you sweetie ! xxx
