  1. Well actually we should all know who the garage is but still people are taking their motors there. I have never personally dealt with them however I bought a modified zed from a forum member and I picked the car up from the said garage. On the face of it the mechanics were Ok with a few obvious issues however within a very short space of time it became quite clear the workmanship was shoddy at best. Ultimately I took the car to Dan at Advanced Motorsports (not cheap but first class quality control) and probably spent about £7K just putting crappy workmanship right. At the end of the day I haven't complained about it. Let's face it I'm a big boy now and no-one forced me to buy the motor so I've just got on with it. I do feel for you though Jaffa because it's apparent you have not gone cheap and have spent a lot of money on quality parts. If you had taken this lot to AME or one of the well known and respected zed mechanics you would now be smiling big time!! It's a crying shame that you're selling your zed parts too. As a matter of interest I note that you are considering buying a NSX. For what it's worth I have driven modified motors of one kind or another since the late seventies (yes I am an old geezer). They are ALL a pain in the butt and will always cost an arm and a leg. However, with the parts you have and with a good workshop I reckon you could have ended up with something quite sensational.
  2. Well if you insist on modifying the car you might as well stick with the zed. Take a nice standard NSX and wipe it's value with mods. I've owned a lot of modified vehicles since the late seventies and each and every one has cost me a fortune. If I was going to buy the Honda I'd defo keep it standard though. I personally prefer the zed in the looks department but there is no denying the Honda quality which is second to none IMO.
  3. To get the vert running perfectly I'll need to change the idle control system which is bought and ready to fit however I'd be happy to drive it Spain and back without it :) To make the red one perfect I've just gotta figure out how to stop hard pipes coming off at boost  I'd drive that to Spain and back as well :D It's hard to call with modified cars because there's always another tweak round the corner but I am satisfied with the reliability.
  4. Yes it is. Just forgot to re-subscribe lol Thanks Kim
  5. As title i can't send PMs and am in the middle of a transaction. Any ideas why anyone? Cheers
  6. I've had a look and it does look like just what I want. I'm up for either a 4 or possibly 6 point MSA approved T45 with harness bar. Prices look about right too. Perhaps when you get back I can call you and firm up some details. Like I said, I'll be taking a couple of weeks off very shortly to install ICE so would like this at the same time and get it done too :) Cheers Bob
  7. I think he means pix 'and' prices  Me too.
  8. Hi John, yes ideally I would like rear only with a harness bar something like this. Also am removing seats but leaving frame so that I fit amps there (probably). Do you have any pix of one? I definitely want one and sooner the better as taking a week off soon to fit the ICE. Cheers Bob
  9. I asked Slick Pete but not doing any more unfortunately. That looks just about right though :)
  10. Hi John, do you have any more info on this one? I'm going to start on interior soon so need to make a decision about roll cage and may well go the full route. I really liked the look of the full Next Miracle Cross bar and it would do the job nicely but reckon by the time you add shipping it would be crazy money. Cheers
  11. Thanks for all the input guys. Will the 6 point from Alunox be rear only? I'm not too keen on having it at the front. last time I had a roll cage in my Capri I used to bang my head on it every time I went over a bump  I had to tie foam to it and looked a bit naff :)
  12. Rather than poach another thread can anyone tell me where to get a rear roll cage for my 91 J spec? I'll be removing rear seats so access not a problem and possibly be fitting racing harness to it. Cheers
  13. I like the idea of this for my car. I'll be removing rear seats and fitting ICE so a rear four point cage would be ideal. Any ideas where to get one for a 91 J spec? A four point harness would be good too. Is there one which uses inertia reel technology or is that asking too much? :) Cheers
  14. Correct it was CJ's and is currently undergoing various upgrade/mods which will hopefully make it not only fast but reliable too ;) Then I'll weigh it down with big ICE install and slow it down it bit too :D
  15. This pic from L&J Audio car is sort of what I'm looking to do with the zed :D
  16. Thanks zero, looks good to me. I'm thinking of placing my 2 (maybe 3) amps in the boot as they look pretty cool, removing the rear seats and fitting two subs there. Mids and tweeters in regular locations in doors probably. I need to speak to an expert really to make sure my idea works OK.
  17. I've bought all the bits and am ready to start a new ICE install. I've also got myself a new interior so it will all go in together hopefully. I haven't quite decided how I want to fit it and how to arrange the various speakers etc so any help would be appreciated. Any links to any nice zed installs would be great. The components I have are: Pioneer DEX P90RS and DEQ P90 processor 2 X Diamond Audio D7401 amps (maybe a third if necessary) 2 X Diamond Audio Subs TDX12D4 Pair of Pioneer TS-M01RSII speakers with TS-T01RSII tweeters. I can do some work myself but if anyone knows a good amateur installer in or around southampton who wants to earn some dosh that would be brilliant. Cheers
  18. Hi, does anyone know which and where is the fuse for the fuel pump on a 91 J Spec. Also motor appears to be overfuelling. Can anyone tell me what direction on the screw to reduce fuel? Cheers
  19. Hi mate, where did you buy the loom from as I'm looking for a new one? Cheers
  20. Might have been me as I've been tootling round the town last few weeks. Weather permitting will be doing some more 'testing' next few weekends
  21. Chrome plates now removed and VIN number apparent. Many thanks, now I can sleep easy :)
  22. I have got some chrome plates there. Will take em off to have a gander. You're a gent and a scholar :)
