Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
Of the £50k+ that I've forked out, Chris had £10k (for his rebuilt engine, AEM EMS & TEIN coilovers + EDFC) Now I can't/won't say at this point that the engine in my car is not the engine that was featured in TOTAL NISSAN, and I don't want to come across as if that is fact or what I am suggesting. I am however more than a little concerned that the ZTECH website has been closed down and haven't been able to get hold of Chris since last year. My car was never completed even though it was at ZTECH from Oct '08 until ZTECH moved last year; when I had to go pick it up on a trailer (not exactly how I pictured my 'Z' reunion after handing over £10k) It was agreed that my car would go back to ZTECH to be finished, once they had re-established the business at Chris' home and once I'd got back from Afghan late '09. The car never went back to ZTECH; maybe e-mails addresses have changed, maybe phone numbers have changed, I don't know, but I've never had a reply? Which is a shame as I always found Chris to be a decent enough bloke... The deal was £8k + my engine for the magazine featured engine (+ £2k for the other parts mentioned). It was agreed that the fitting of the aftermarket parts that I had already bought to go on my 'Z', would be inclusive and fitted by ZTECH at the same time as the coilovers (these included brakes, HICAS eliminator, front & rear upper arms, traction arms, strut braces, anti roll bars, tension rods, boost controller, turbo timer) I'd bought a set of Volk Racing rims to replace the set of brand new BK Racing rims & tyres that were already fitted. I agreed to trade the BK Racing rims & tyres for the fitting of my carbon seats (which I dropped off after the initial deal was made) + (how I heard it) a set of leather door cards. (though apparently the leather door cards weren't agreed on and I'd agreed to trade a brand new set of rims ad tyres just for fitting a pair of seats? Not sure about that, but regardless...the seats were never fitted so it doesn't really matter a f**k I suppose eh) I have no way of checking that the engine internals are forged Carrillo rods/Arias pistons etc, without stripping the engine down, which leaves me with a dilemma. I've never stripped down a VG30DETT and don't really want to remove it from the car, just to check that the parts are all as listed in TOTAL NISSAN. Not too keen on letting my car out of my sight now if I'm honest Any suggestions????

Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
My whole car situation is getting f***ing ridiculous! I've now spent well in excess of £50,000 on two different cars since Jan '08 and still don't have a driveable car to show for it (and even that figure is sadly a bit on the conservative side) I hate the fact that a lot of people generally think that because you are polite and well mannered, that you can be taken for a mug Stupid, stupid people :cursing: they'll just have to learn the hard way

Are ZTECH still trading? The website has been closed down and I can't get hold of Chris on (07968) 166640

Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
This is what I need to establish before ripping faces off, did I or did I not get the 'all singing all dancing' gucci engine, built up of new forged parts/turbo's etc that is featured in TOTAL NISSAN. I paid £8,000 up front for the engine (px with my old engine), and handed over an extra £2,000 at the same time, on additional parts (AEM EMS, TEIN coilovers + EDFC etc) If the engine in my car isn't the same as the engine featured in TOTAL NISSAN; and also shown in the e-mail pics sent to me, then heads will roll!

Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
Just wondering if anybody has a copy of TOTAL NISSAN magazine that ran a feature on ZTECH back in 2008 I think it was Edition 2 I believe (has a picture of the JAPSPEED drift car on the front cover) If so could they post up the engine spec list????

Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
My old VG30DETT engine was removed from my 'Z' and taken px against Chris' (ZTECH) rebuilt engine? (This engine is being stripped down shortly to confirm what's what). If I remember correctly the car that my old engine went into had the VRN: OIL---- I remember being a bit peeved' at the time as I'd paid Chris a shit load of cash up front and for months my car sat in one corner whilst my 'new' engine sat in the other not making much pogress; even though my old engine had been whipped out, sold, fitted into another car and moved on pretty quick. As my car was never finished and had to be trailored off the old premises, I'm just a bit concerned that the ZTECH website has recently gone offline. There are isues that I need to resolve but don't have an address or current contact number for Chris. All advice has been taken on board, and it's very much appreciated. I'm reserving judgement until I speak face to face and can confirm all facts. I know it sounds familiar, but it would be interesting to know what was bought, what was paid and by who and when.

Does my bum look fat in this???
Not sure about that mate, can't really tell but the last thing you want is to look like 'SHAMU' from sea world eh!

Altering pump for hicas removal
Just as a matter of interest mate, how long did it take to complete with the engine removed (and how does this compare to when the engine is still fitted?)

Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
That would be a long old (not to mention costly) drive from NI, just to get a replacement lump dropped in. Maybe the guy who owns it lives this side of the water now? I was just curious as to how much he was charged for the engine and what other work he had done at the same time

Does my bum look fat in this???
To be honest mate, that doesn't look too bad to me, it's a lot better looking than some of the rears out there; not sure what others think mind you. It could do with a set of these though :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Vehicle registration 'oil' (ztech)????
Bit of a strange question this, but here go's: Does anybody own/or know somebody who owns a Z32 TT that was down at ZTECH about 2 years back (before they moved) having a replacement engine fitted? I believe it was on Northern Ireland plates: 'OIL ----'

Z32 tt carbon drift build
Yep, you can't argue with a 40kg weight loss by simply removing some pointless excess (Labour have just lost 90kg if that's the case, hey Gordie'.....well, probably closer to 110kg I reckon) As it'll need touching up inside anyway; once the sound deadening is removed, I'm considering going for a full matt black interior, just to be a bit different

Z32 tt carbon drift build
Everything that's not required mate (especially sound deadening!!!) is coming out shortly or has already been removed, I'm just having to work on it whenever I get the chance and just keep chipping away. If I want to stand a chance of getting the car ready by the end of this summer I need to really pull my finger out

Z32 tt carbon drift build
I got back from work this afternoon and found a nice big box waiting for me Out with the carbon fibre buckets and in with a set of SPARCO's I just need to pick up an extra set of side rails now, so that I can bolt them in place The GREDDY oil catch can arrived yesterday so I'm just looking at options for mounting points. As the red top race battery is going behind the passenger seat, the now empty space would appear to be an ideal place to secure the can. As shown previously by Mark's (silverbullet) setup

Z32 tt carbon drift build
These aren't completed yet but at least I've finally managed to get round to finishing the initial test fit of the drivers side front carbon fibre overfender and its a pretty good fit. I've always planned to use hex bolts to secure the overfenders in place, but think that standard washers are a bit shite looking, therefore I went on a rummage, looking for suitable alternatives. I now plan to use the heads (?) from the hex bolts that hold the cam covers in place I've primered and black laquered one as a tester and think that it's both practical and also adds to the purposeful look of the overfenders The hex bolt sits nicely inside the 'head' The only drawback to this is that I need to source '16' heads for each front fender and probably the same for the rear

Dump valves for ZX TT?
Not sure about DV30's but I've currently got a pair of BAILEY 'EVO' bov's fitted; however I plan to switch shortly to HKS SSQV's. I ran the BAILEY's on my original engine for about 20 miles and they seemed pretty decent, though to be fair I can only compare them to the stock recirc' valves that I'd just removed.

Fast & The Furious Storyline inspiration
Good find mate, that's quite an interesting read. Who would have thought that the guy who inspired the character of Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) was actually a Kwik Fit tyre fitter from Dagenham called John......amazing stuff :whistling: Lost his first race though  ......that'll teach him for taking his car to get set up by a specialist working from a barn just outside Swindon! I'm only messing mate, good stuff bud

Nice Z
Not for me sorry bud 'Covered in stickers and has two big fat pipes out the back'........that'll explain the near $16k price tag then?

Z32 tt carbon drift build
I agree mate, the bolt on look isn't to everybody's taste but the way I'm looking at it is....it's a track car (road legal yes but primarily built for track)....if I have a big off on track or get a bit too close to the opposition and damage something whilst getting sideways, it doesn't really matter because I can just beat it out, unbolt the damaged part and replace it with another one (I'll just have to knock up a mould beforehand and carry a few spares in the truck) To be fair the majority of self funded drift cars are usually held together with plasti' ties by the end of the season. Not to mention the fact that the final aggressive 'don't f**k with me' look of raw carbon on track animal, places a severe eliment of doubt in the minds of the country's wealthy flash ba***rd drivers

BRAND NEW SERIES of Wheeler Dealers.
I must admit, I do like the programme but not sure how much more poetic license the producers could throw at it (ie. initial budget of £5k) -car bought on an 'internet auction site' (just call it ebay for f**k sake man!) and costs £3k -parts cost £1k -respray cost £1k -4 weeks labour apparently costs f**k all! Mike advertises car on 'specialist website' for £7k first guy to turn up makes an offer of £5000 Mike agrees to 'meets in the middle' and sells car for £5100????? "Hold out your hand fella.....you've bought yourself a car!....and Ed and I have made a tidy profit, but what's more is we've saved another classic car from the scrap heap" (Uuhmm Mike.......a shite white rusty Peugeot 205 GTI isn't a classic car in the strictest sense mate, but it makes for good TV so I'm happy fella) :thumbup1:

Z32 tt carbon drift build
I was chatting to a bloke on the Supra forum about something completely different and he made a random comment about carbon fibre parts and how costly they were. He was gutted as he'd just shelled out a couple of grand getting his mk IV Supra sorted only to write it off a few weeks later in the wet. He'd sourced these carbon overfenders; that were now no use to him, and was looking to trawl back some cash so that he could start afresh. I'd seen them before but only in FRP. I got wind that envy performance were selling them on their website for £900 and thought that I'd give them a crack on my Z32. I offered him a rediculously low 'instant bank payment' and his mrs replied to the e-mail accepting the offer. They arrived a few days later and I got to work sizing them up. I've seen the FRP type blended in on Z32's before and they looked pretty decent to be fair (better in my lowly opinion than some of the gash FRP wide body kits currently available for the Z32....no offence intended as I know that overfenders are not to everyones taste) so to get a full set in carbon fibre was a result; and as they serve a purpose (and I like the purposeful 'bolt on' look), they won't be blended in, simply hex bolted on enabling a wider stance all round
