R34 gtr 'arc' oil cooler on a z32 tt?
I'm considering making an offer on a secondhand 'ARC' oil cooler for an R34 GTR I'm guessing that the sandwich plate is going to be different however I think that the 'HEL' sandwich plate that I've already got for the Z32 would be compatable, as the braided hoses look like a fairly standard fit any suggestions?

Ignition module (stock ptu, hks or aem)
Rgr, so the ignition modules are amps for the stock PTU....makes more sense now. Series 2 it is then :thumbup1: Any ideas if the either AEM or HKS ignition modules are better than than the other, or much of a muchness?

Ignition module (stock ptu, hks or aem)
I'll be purchasing one of these two (either HKS or AEM) within the next week or so but would like to get some info beforehand on which is the better option Just pulled this off the net http://www.mdsmarthome.com/z/Z%20Tech/Z%20Tech%20PDF's/PTU%20Repair.pdf Very interesting read for owners of Z's with a Type 1 PTU, so I figured that I'd pre-empt before my stock Type 1 PTU gave up the ghost

Fmic/rad/oil cooler setup for track use
That setup has been adopted by a few track cars now (and drag cars for that matter) Adequate directed airflow is obviously key, but it would appear to be very effective when done correctly Now looking at stats for front exit exhausts, before the fabricator; who's already been found and is willing to do the work, gets started on the car. (Quite handy as he's also the guy that MOT's my cars!)

AB-FLUG dash cluster on eBay
As the speedo reads in KPH, to be honest, I reckon if you can spell 'AB FLUG' then all you need is one of these........and you've saved yourself at least £79

ebay aftermarket radiators
Let's be fair it's a bit of an unjust, bold statement to say that all e-bay radiators are shite That's a bit of a generalisation in my opinion Some of the cheaper tat are constructed from poor quality materials but at the same time a lot of them are quite reasonable quality for the money Of course there's an element of risk buying a cheapo' rad from China but that's not to say that for normal day to day use, where the car isn't being thrashed, the cheap rad might hold up just fine (as stated already) Not to mention that there are plenty of decent 'used' rads on ebay (the TOYO rad mentioned previously for example) TOYO (not to be mistaken for KOYO) do make decent kit, in fact a lot of 4x4's use them and before that statement gets slated, the wagons that run TOYO rads generally live a harsh existance in hot sandy climates; Oman, Saudi and Afghan for example and they run just fine just my 2p worth

Go buy her a new one from Halfords you tight arse :tt2:

Z32 tt carbon drift build
I've been trying to clear this one up with the company that supplied them (PERFORMANCE NISSAN US) via e-mail. This is what I've got back so far: Q - could you confirm please that the NISSAN MOTORSPORT strut braces that you sell; to fit the Nissan 300zx (Z32) are genuine NISMO parts? A - No, they are not Nismo, to add to confusion, these are sold by Nissan motorsports USA but are not Nismo. They are products made for them but are not true Nismo (JDM) parts. Think of it as like a sublet work by a third party maker making stuff for you to sell on your catalog. ^^^^^^^ So far, this is what I've got back off the by way of explaination. They were packaged together and I am 99% certain that the additional cardboard packaging that they were protected by for overseas shipping had the NISMO mark on it (though it's been a while now so possibly could have read NISSAN MOTORSPORTS???) though I am 100% certain that the packaging stated 'Genuine Nissan Parts'. This is what I've found on the net so far with regards to NISSAN MOTORSPORTS USA and NISSAN MOTORSPORTS JAPAN (NISMO) "Nissan Motorsports USA was the old Nissan Competition Department which is not part of Nismo (Nissan Motorsports Japan)". surely if the parts are advertised as NISSAN MOTORSPORTS parts, the customer is going to assume that the parts are genuine NISMO parts, so as you say, it's mis leading and surely isn't right. Especially when you consider that the NISSAN MOTORSPORTS products are actually the most expensive that they offer at: 54420-Z32SB NISSAN 300ZX 1990-1996 Front Strut Brace $229.99 55420-Z32SB NISSAN 300ZX 1990-1996 Rear Strut Brace $249.99 So effectively $480 US + shipping and tax on top That's a whole lot of cash to spend on kit that isn't what you think it is

Nismo/nissan motorsports usa
Does anybody know the difference between Nissan Motorsports Japan (NISMO)and Nissan Motorsports USA (apart from the obvious geographical difference) From what I can gather Nissan Motorsports USA was the old Nissan Competition Department which is not part of Nismo (Nissan Motorsports Japan). Are they just seperate departments of Nissan???

Z32 tt carbon drift build
Cheers John First off, welcome to the forum bud. I appreciate you responding so quick and for your input on the build. Loads for me to think about there Reference the KSPORT brakes, they've been a topic of conversation with other members for the last couple of weeks and will need to be addressed in the near future The GT wing bracing has been considered and a chassis/floor pan mounted configuration is being looked at as an option. I imported both strut braces via PERFORMANCE NISSAN in the US Both came in NISMO packaging, however if NISMO didn't make strut braces/bars then I'm gonna' obviously have to take issue with the company http://www.mynismo.com/ NISSAN MOTORSPORTS Strut Bars NISSAN MOTORSPORTS front and rear strut braces. Please allow 30 days for delivery after purchase as these parts are special order only and not in stock. Part numbers: 54420-Z32SB NISSAN 300ZX 1990-1996 Front Strut Brace $229.99 55420-Z32SB NISSAN 300ZX 1990-1996 Rear Strut Brace $249.99 Still loads to do yet obviously and loads more food for thought. I'll be scrutinising your build; carbon targa panels were intended so good to know that it's a proven option We'll get there :thumbup1:

Unique autosports time attack z32 tt
Just read through the whole build, a very interesting read showing a lot of trial and error/R & D. Interesting that they've opted to test a number of fmic setups for track use over the smic configuration

K-Sport brakes!
I've got KSPORT 12 pots for the front and KSPORT 6 pots for the rear. The car hasn't driven with these fitted yet so I can't comment on their performance but I will say this, I bought them direct from APEX PERFORMANCE who at the time were the official UK distributor for KSPORT, and the customer service is absolute dog shite. The pads, despite never being driven on, have a 1mm split that runs through them and must be a bad batch/quality control issue. Initially they tried to say that it was just the paint cracking as the pics that I sent weren't that clear? Despite saying that they would send replacements last year, they haven't bothered their arse. I sent another e-mail last week and haven't even recieved a response to that. Overall, not impressed at all I've heard different opinions on KSPORT as a brand and will hold judgement until I can thrash them around the track

[quote name= Like you really should pay attention to a film as shit as that?[/quote] Like I said (reference the Fiat comment), it was a bit blase' and no doubt fuelled by a large eliment of jealousy on the mechanics part, however he does have a point Technically Fiat do own Ferrari, whether Ferrari lovers/owners like it or not, in exactly the same way that VW built the Bugatti Veyron. Nobody's suggesting that a VW Golf GTi is on par with a 268 mph Supercar; that would be rediculous, but the point made by the guy is exactly the same http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat Fiat is the largest vehicle manufacturer in Italy, with a range of cars starting from small Fiat city cars to sports cars made by Ferrari, and vans and trucks ranging from the Ducato to Iveco commercial trucks. Besides Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A, the Fiat Group automotive companies include Ferrari S.p.A., Iveco S.p.A. and Maserati S.p.A. The Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A. companies include: Abarth & C. S.p.A., Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A., Fiat Automobiles S.p.A., Fiat Professional and Lancia Automobiles S.p.A.. Ferrari S.p.A. is 85% owned by the Fiat Group. The European Car of the Year award, Europe's premier automotive trophy for the past 40 years, has been awarded twelve times to the Fiat Group, more than any other manufacturer. Most recently the Fiat Nuova 500 has won the award for European Car of the Year 2008. And as for film 'The Fast and the Furious', I'm not for one minute suggesting that I'm an avid supporter of the film - the acting's crap - the car designs are dated - the brand advertising throughout is annoying as fook' - the characters are pretty flimsy (though we've already established that they are based on real life characters) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=138942&highlight=fast+furious however the fact remains that everytime I see a Ferrari at a set of traffic lights I can't help but think of 'that' scene and place the driver into that typical stereotype; rightly or wrongly, it doesn't matter.- Fmic/rad/oil cooler setup for track use
This 'V' configuration is taken from an Australian Time Attack S14 running an RB26DETT conversion I'm now seriously considering fitting a full underbody tray/diffuser and running a similar 'V' configuration on my 'Z' ('MONSTER' your imput also, please bud) :thumbup1:- Unique autosports time attack z32 tt
Anybody got any more spec details on this 'Z'? Youtube clip: All I know is it's a 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo run in Time Attack by Unique Auto Sports and produces approx 576 rwhp- 500bhp TT Best exhaust???
^^^^^^ Posting at 2 O'clock on a Saturday morning We seriously all need to get out more I think- Ferrari 348tb
It's like one of the guys on an episode of 'The Garage' said, "It's just a big Fiat!" just without the Fiat servicing price tag A bit of a blase' statement for sure but he's got a point There's a 355 parked up in Hereford at the mo; don't get me wrong it looks nice and I've heard it around town and it sounds sweet, but I still can't shake that image in my head of the knobber in 'The Fast and the Furious' - Ferrari 348tb
