Wife's car driven into then they drove off
That's the one mate, doesn't look anything special but rare as hens teeth outside Japan and NZ. That's why it cost so much to insure it, and why we ended up having to take the policy out with Adrian Flux

Wife's car driven into then they drove off
gotcha' the drama we're going to face with my wife's car is that it's the only Nissan Wingroad in the UK, so a new rear bumper would have to be imported from Japan or NZ. Then the paint would have to be colour matched etc, etc the last thing we want is a perfectly good car being written off by the insurance company just because it's too costly to repair the damage caused by some geriatric coffin dodger with a severe moral fibre deficiancy

don't think we could wait a couple of years in this instance, the culprit must have been knocking on for 90 years old as it is

Wife's car driven into then they drove off
^^^ cheers bud might be useful to get the 'official' line on what should be done by the police in these situations. My wife will pop back down to the police station tomorrow, maybe there'll be someone on duty who actually knows what day of the week it is. The thing is, if the police do nothing when everything that they need is handed to them on a plate, it doesn't really inspire much confidence for the occassions when they will actually have to do the leg work themselves

Wife's car driven into then they drove off
Well my wife's just got back from the Police station and she's not too impressed. The police officer on the desk didn't exactly inspire confidence when my wife asked where they would be taking the issue, she was told that a form would be filled out and sent to the 'accident department'? my wife then asked if a police officer would be paying the culprit a visit and was told 'probably not'? to that my wife asked the question 'well isn't it a criminal offence to leave the scene of an accident without leaving contact details' of which the response was 'I don't know'?????? All that was missing was the comical 'computer says no!' sketch just to finish it off Do the police just employ the cleaner on weekends to sit behind the desk or something! We've just contacted the witness direct and he informed us that the culprit was fully aware that they had damaged our car as they reversed and then pulled forward to inspect the extent of the damage I'm not gonna turn this into an OAP witch hunt but 'that' sort of gives an indication of who the culprit was not a happy teddy at the mo'

Will do bud, but I reckon it'll be some sort of pathetic 'I didn't realise' excuse. Yeah, didn't realise that you half ripped another cars bumper off....really???

Wife's car driven into then they drove off
I know there have been a few of these 'hit and run' incidents reported over the past few months; with the majority of culprits never to be seen again. Hopefully this one will have a happy ending with the individual responsible being banged to rights. In a nut shell: My wife came home half an hour ago and said that somebody had driven into her car. She was in Sainsbury's doing the weekly shopping at the time, with the car parked up outside. When she returned to the car she found a note pinned to the windscreen stating that 'your car has been hit please report to the security officer' It would appear that one of those really nice people; you know the type, one of those 'I'm gonna drive into your car and cause damage but will just leave off' types. As luck would have it, the security guard and another bystander, witnessed what had happened and took down the culprits details. Time, date, make, model and VRN (effectively everything that the Police will need to pursue the individual responsible) Hereford Police are obviously having quite a quiet day today as they asked my wife to pop straight down to the Police station with all of the details. The witness left a name and contact telephone number so that the Police can take a statement. Obviously this person will be recieving a nice thank you gift from us both for taking the time to do the right thing. Invaluable information, as without it, we would have no option other than to claim off our own insurance. Sarah's on her way to the Police station now with details in hand Not really a Z related story but one that I'm sure a lot of members can empathise with. accidents do happen of course, but people who cause damage and drive away without even leaving a note should face the full wrath of the law, in my opinion.

Big brake advice
Just replied on BP, all sounding good for the Skyline mate Accusump and switch to the MOTEC Forgot about the ROTA's sprouting legs chief, my bad :hammer: Go see a voodoo witch doctor with a pic of them and get some mad black magic curse put on them! Ref your PM about the lambo door kit being used on your Skyline as 'suicide doors' that open backwards and downwards....not really sure bud, don't think that's ever been done before? I reckon you should stick with your 18's though mate, I reckon 15's with chrome spinners wouldn't look right on your Skyline; especially on track, but I could be wrong bud, it's your car after all and maybe the CO2 dischargers under the sills would hide them well enough to avoid causing offence to passers by

Big brake advice
Yep, shakedown 'til breakdown! I would say to check out your 0-62mph time and 30m, 60m etc...... but to be fair, if you make it to the first corner I'll be impressed, and if the whole car makes it to the second corner.....well, you might just have a good'en there that's worthy of giving Peter's GT3 an ass whooping at Goodwood Like I said on BP....if the Skyline spontaniously combusts, make sure you grab me your Bosch 044 before that go's up aswell chief Then you could take the money from the sale of the fuel pump and buy yourself another Z32 (not far off the truth I suppose when you consider the way that they're priced at the mo') I also reckon your ROTA's look shit on a blue car so you should donate them to a worthy cause (ie. me) with some of that nice track rubber you keep talking about........I'll even throw in that lambo door kit that you are constantly PM'ing me about for your new NA Auto :tt2:

Big brake advice
^^^^^just to add on this one, my original 18's wouldn't accomodate my big brake kit but my 18" RAYS take them just fine (so it does depend on the manufacturer of the rims) 18" RAYS + Ksport 12 pots (380mm discs) + Ksport 6 pots (356mm discs) = Good fit

MAP SENSOR (3.5 bar 0r 5 bar)???
That would seem to be the obvious answer mate basically I've already got an AEM 3.5 bar map sensor to run with my AEM EMS however, I would assume (rightly or wrongly???) that an AEM 5 bar map sensor would be an upgrade? initially I figured that a 5 bar would just offer scope for more boost (though not sure that my 'Z' will need 3.5 bar of boost let alone 5 bar, so that made me think that maybe there was some other benefits to be gained from having a more capable sensor) pro's and con's....still drawing a blank on this one

MAP SENSOR (3.5 bar 0r 5 bar)???
Just a quick question Can anybody explain the pros and cons of running a 5 bar map sensor over a 3.5 bar map sensor? cheers

Z32 tt carbon drift build
I've just removed the rest of the intake pipes by torchlight. I must have OCD or something, I just can't leave the 'Z' alone At least now I can drop them down to the workshop first thing and the guys can get cracking on the custom pipes using the stock pipes as a rough guide for angles etc

Z32 tt carbon drift build
Yet another day of stripping out the clutter from the Z's engine bay Having seen how clear my mate's PS13 engine bay is I've made it my mission to customise mine and make it equally as simple To that end all of the intake/intercooler pipes etc have now been binned ready for a local fabrication specialist to make up some custom pipework. It came as no surprise to see how much pipework came out of the 'Z' The original idea was to fit the right hand filter in the recess that has been created by removing the battery tray and then try to fit the left hand filter in the slightly smaller recess created by removing the EGR and AIV solenoid etc. however it became clear that to fit the filters in these locations would require an acute bend in the pipework, not to mention the obvious heat issues associated with being located at the rear of the engine bay. It was therefore descided to run a custom pipe from each turbo's intake, through the opening at the rear of the headlights and then fix both filters in place underneath the headlights (slightly forward of where the smics usually sit) The rear section of the stock plastic/rubberised intake pipe will be completely removed as soon as the custom pipework has been made this is where the two oil coolers were going to be located once the fmic was fitted. It looks promising that this will still be achievable, with the use of some well placed brackets. This will ensure that both filters and oil coolers will recieve maximum air flow from the side vents on the front bumper. All of the stock intercooler pipework has now been removed so that the custom pipework for the fmic can be fitted, the custom pipework will take the most direct route to the turbo's and throttle chambers Note: the small rear sections of pipe have temporarily been left in place attached to the turbo's, to help protect them from debris and water ingress, whilst work is ongoing in the engine bay. The guy who will be making the intake and intercooler pipework will also be making the side exit exhaust system (it is yet to be determined whether or not the Labree down pipes will remain or whether they will be replaced by a complete custom down pipe setup) Whilst the front of the engine bay is clear I'll take the opportunity to get in amongst it and clean up 20 odd years of accumulated grit and grime the work continues........

Yeah Ludlow's only about 20 odd miles away if you're ever down this way, stop in for a brew mate as for the 'Z', there's nothing really wrong with it; well nothing that a kilo or two of PE4 wouldn't square away :hammer:
