Z32 tt carbon drift build
Sorry fellas, not been on here much due to big changes in life, mostly due to an out of the blue shafting from the government, with its weird and wonderful views on ways to save money (governments promise of a job for life regardless of injuries - my arse!), anyway this build is well and truly up in the air (well, up on axle stands to be more precise). I had to face the reality a few months back that there wasn't a hope in hell of this being ready for the summer as I'd hoped so am now well into the process of stripping it back down to a bare shell. It'll either get acid dipped or blasted, then primered and repainted in a different colour which I've already chosen. I'm going to bin the drift build plans and plan for a more traditional track setup The engine/trans will be coming out in the next week or so and I'll take the time to strip and rebuild the block in slow time. Hopefully the internals are what Ztech said they are... Once the future is clearer and I know what's happening financially, the build will be able to pick up momentum again Oh yeah, and I just got backoff my family hols' today and some scumbag has had my pair of Sparco's away.....thank God for pikeys eh!

Is there any particular reason why this book is so expensive? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nissan-300ZX-Enthusiasts-Companion-enthusiasts/dp/0947981527/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1293204104&sr=1-1

Offset question
Cheers bud as a matter of interest do you know how much leeway/adjustment for offset the following front components will give? I've got: -Driftworks front upper adjustable arms -Driftworks front lower adjustable arms -Driftworks adjustable tension arms -SPL V5 outer tie rod ends -Tein Z33 inner tie rods Am I right to assume that aside from the obvious camber and toe adjustment, the above will allow a small degree of 'pushing outwards of the wheel' to compensate for offset?

Offset question
I've got a pair of rims, 18" x 10" wide (ET +45) on the rear of my zed. They sit flush to the rear arch nicely (with big brake discs fitted and no spacer required). I've got a pair of 18" x 9" wide (ET +45) to go on the front, though I can't be sure that they'll sit flush/too far out/too far in of the front arches as the whole front suspension has been removed. (Q1) Do these offsets and dimensions sound about right for the front? cheers

MOT Advice - tailgate with spoiler mounting holes
Yep, had this recently with my Hilux; no sharp edges but still different opinions by two different garages. I took my truck into work recently and got it up on the ramps, then had one of the LAD guys check it over for his un-biased oppinion. To be fair, he spent a good hour going over it and said that mechanically it would be fine apart from an O/S track rod end and upper ball joint which would need replacing. With that knowledge in hand I booked it into Kwik Fit, who had an offer on. Low and behold it failed on 7 points. I went back to the LAD guy and asked his opinion on what Kwik Fit had picked it up on. He walked and talked me through the 'Kwik Fit Fictitious List' showing clearly what was and was not wrong with the truck and went to great lengths to demonstrate how the Kwik Fit examiner had been wrong to fail it on 6 of the 7 points, highlighting that the upper ball joint that he had pointed out during his initial inspection, hadn't actually been picked up on by Kwik Fit? I didn't return to Kwik Fit, I booked it in with another garage, that wasn't so local, for another MOT, and would you believe it, it failed on an O/S track rod end and an upper ball joint as predicted by the LAD guy. The replacement parts were ordered and paid for + £55 labour, job done. Kwik Fit later stated that it would only charge 50% of the original price for the re-test and were investigating?

Bnr34 gtr arc and z32 mocal sandwich plate
Thought so, however just found this link on GTROC http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/TRUST-0-C-Oil-Block-E-G-Type-F-60mm-26621 does this attach to the block or the filter?

Bnr34 gtr arc and z32 mocal sandwich plate
Could somebody shed some light on this please? I've fitted an ARC oil cooler off a BNR34 GTR to my 'Z'. It came with, what I initially thought was a sandwich plate for the oil filter, but having just compared it to the HEL/MOCAL sandwich plate that I bought previously, I now think that the ARC part is for re-locating the oil filter from its original location and not a normal sandwich plate. Here's a pic of the HEL/MOCAL sandwich plate and here's a pic of the ARC part that I believe is for relocating the filter from the stock position If this is the case then wouldn't a blanking plate with AN ports (if that's the correct terminology) be required also, attaching where the sandwich plate would normally have been fitted?

Autoart/minichamps???
I'm open to offers on all of these really The 1:18 scale Autoart M3, NSX and Corvette are starting from about £60-£80 each on fleebay which is less than RRP (unless prices for Autoart have reduced drastically over the last 3 years or so). shipping from the States is about £30 each. For cash, I'd be after half retail or there abouts on each of these as I said, I'm happy to trade any of these for interesting Jap car bits also. I'm after a second hand AEM AFR gauge (don't need the Bosch sensor as I've got a spare) obviously I'm happy to throw a bit of cash into the deal. I'm also looking for a good condition viscous fan (actual fan blades), set of Carbing strut braces, again got cash ready, AEM aquamist gauge, water/meth kit, Nitrous, accusump but will consider all offers.....
