  1. :confused1:Cheers bud, that was my understanding also, ie. that the closer the bov/s are to the throttle body the better....however the last few posts on the 'old thread' sort of turned that on its head and contradict this stating that if the bov's are located close to the throttle body then it actually has a detrimental effect on a Z's performance??? :confused1: Does anybody know if this is fact (indicating that the Z32 is very different to the majority of motors) or unproven? I've seen a few examples of bov's on Z32's inner hard pipes, outer hard pipes and in the stock recirc location. **and please this is a genuine query of bov location on a VG30DETT and not a debate on the pro's and cons of Bov (with their pointless whooshing noise yada, yada etc) vs stock recircs** all info welcome, there's obviously a genuine reason for the question being asked
  2. Did we come to a final conclusion on this old thread ref BOV location (inner pipe/outer pipe or stock recirc location) or does anybody have any updated techical data/details to varify best BOV location for high power Z32 application? My understanding is 600 brake max's out stock recircs, and BOV's (all stupid noises etc aside) are of benefit when you go above a certain power figure?

  4. 'Monster' was running an Autobahn fmic and was achieving nigh on 600 brake on his 'Z' Never used their kit myself but might be worth pm'ing him for info.
  5. Serious amount of work gone in there, but I personally feel to make it really work, they need to pull it all together by connecting the front wide arches to the rear wide arches in order to avoid that 'Leepu's chop shop/RTA side impact effect' that you get from certain angles. Maybe a GT side splitter or similar; and obviously sort out the Nissan Micra exhausts! But fair play, it's unique and credit to the amount of work and design flair that's gone into it.
  6. Just wondering if anybody has come across this setup before. This is an ATL fuel cell that was previously fitted to a Cosworth rally car. I bought it a while back and am in the process of fitting it and plumbing everything in (hence the hole where my 'Z' used to have a boot floor) The company ran a twin Facet lifter pump set up running to a large fuel filter. This 'I believe' filtered fuel to the primary Bosch 044 fuel pump which ran to a primary high flow fuel filter/FPR etc. The vent hose was cut whilst the cell was being removed from the previous car, as was a second hose that runs from the initial fuel filter. Any suggestions where to run the vent hose and the second fuel hose?? I was informed that this particular fuel cell is baffled and has an internal swirl pot, however I'm waiting on confirmation from ATL as to whether I actually need to run a separate swirl pot. (here's a very basic diagram of the layout as I understand it)
  7. Up for grabs on Pistonheads now......at last, a 'Z' in the classifieds that will sell for more than £500 and a packet of crisps! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2147992.htm
  8. Someone tell Leepu and Bernie........they'll get it back on the road.........well kinda' road legal, would probably end up as some sort of 6 wheeled, half track ice cream van/track car/amphibious people carrier!
  9. I remember seeing Rocket Ronnie's R33 GTR up for sale a while back; £40k I believe..... sadly, the 209 mph TOTB legend is no more Hopefully the new owner will breathe some life back into the old girl and have it ripping up the tarmac again in the near future http://www.skyline-owners-club.com/forums/33856-ex-abbey-motorsport-rocket-ronnie-shell.html
  10. Technically not street legal but still a Z32 none the less a 7.09 second pass is still impressive.....and I believe this also got into the 6's What's the quickest recorded UK quarter mile time?
  11. Might sound bizarre but they're off a Jag
  12. Any ideas if it's possible to get a rim with a PCD of (120) fit a Z32 (114.3)?
  13. Any ideas why somebody would opt for a section of wire mesh jubilee clipped onto the turbo intake as opposed to a regular cone filter, surely this wouldn't provide anywhere near adequate filtration? What are the pro's and con's of this set up?
  14. Quick question fellas' HICAS has been removed and all associated pipework has been stripped out. This pipe sits just above the PAS reservoir, can it now be binned? It runs just under the brake master cylinder.
  15. My German's a tad rusty but I'm assuming that it's being sold off for charity/was unveiled at a charity event, hence http://www.charity-challenge.de?
  16. Quick update: my wife phoned me whilst I was in work to say that a Police car had just turned up outside our house. Great I thought, at least they're going to eventually bring us some good news. WRONG!!! Apparently they had recieved a complaint from my next door neighbours elderly mother saying that 'my' truck was parked over my neighbours driveway and they were blocked in. The Police had come to investigate! Quite calmly my wife showed the Police officer (a young woman) where my truck was parked. The Police officer immediately agreed that my truck was parked in a designated parking space and was in no way obstructing my neighbours drive. Pointing out in fact that even though the 'granny annexe' had been built behind the designated parking space, I had made additional effort to ensure that their driveway wasn't blocked, even though I would have been well within my rights to do so. The Police officer re-visiting the old coffin dodger explaining that she had in fact wasted Police time and pointed out to her that my truck was not in any way blocking the drive. The Police officer returned to face the wrath of my wife. By this stage my wife was fuming, and quite abruptly pointed out the fact that she couldn't believe that even though (1) The Police couldn't bother their arse to investigate the damage caused to my wifes car the previous week despite having all of the evidence, eye winess accounts etc readily available (2) Couldn't bother their arse to investigate a previous incident when I was working away and whilst she was 30+ weeks pregnant she was driving when a passenger sat in the rear of a car pulled up alongside and opened fire through the window with a high power air rifle, penetrating the side of my wife's car and causing her to crash. After questioning by the Police, the driver of the car wouldn't disclose who the passenger who pulled the trigger was, the Police claimed that they couldn't persue it any further and finally (3) After being presented with all of the evidence showing how a company had de-frauded me of £20,000 and subsequently the tax payer of £250,000+, the Police claimed that it was outside of their remit and so couldn't persue it further, even though they admitted that they could see clearly what the individuals/company had done and were in fact, still doing! but they were prepared to come out of their way to investigate a report of a 'car parked over someones f***ing driveway!!!' and that sirs, ladies and gents is why this country is so well and truely F****D!!! God forbid you pop down the shops for a pint of milk and come back 10 minutes later to find squatters in your house, attempt to remove them physically and you're going down for at least 5 years in pokey! Makes you wonder why we bother risking all, just to have the piss taken when back on home soil
  17. ^^^^^^^Same, though over the past year or so I've tended more and more to have a look first to see what's actually featured, as they have been known to go a bit Scooby/EVO/Civic biased over recent years (obviously with the exception of Total Nissan that is)
  18. That's how it all starts mate......watch your back!!!
  19. ^^^^^^ make sure the hand brake's off next time chief
  20. Maybe it was a mini cooper with a VG30DETT conversions, so don't be too dis-heartened bud
  21. Any ideas if it's worth completely removing the ABS for track use?
