Update painted engine parts
I just had to take another look at that engine pic in the first post, how the hell did you get it like that? Are those water pipes alloy or something.....that looks brand new!

Update painted engine parts
That's an extremely clean and bling engine you've got there matey, definately liking the yellow, and obviously a hell of a lot of effort gone into it so hat off to you chief. I'll be honest I'm not entirely sold on the raised chrome-like lettering as they are currently, though maybe if they were slightly sunk into a slightly oversized matching recess (if that makes sense), but of course that is just my oppinion. Top work fella'

Benefits of switching to Q45 throttle chambers
Yeah, kinda' lost heart there for a bit with this build mate, and the zed has just sat on the back burner for what seemed like an age. I'll be honest, I almost canned it completely and considered just buying an R32 GTR that I spotted on Pistonheads which had already been built to a very high spec, but obviously I didn't do that in the end (and I've even re-subscribed!!) Circumstances have changed for the better in the last week or so and things are starting to look pretty good for the future now. You know what they say, when one door closes, another always opens....well it's sort of like that. I'm gonna hold off until there's really something to report on the build and will then kick off a new build thread Ref mapping the AEM, I've heard good things about Greg up at Pro-tuner, and to be fair it's a pretty decent setup that he's running up there, with a lot of the top teams in BDC/EDC getting there cars mapped by him. I dropped a friends PS13 up there a while back and he's done a blinding job on that, so I think I'll give him a go The future's bright, the futures.....well..... not orange, more lumi yellow!

Benefits of switching to Q45 throttle chambers
After much discussion with a number of guys I opted for this setup (which is very similar to the Group N rally car that the fuel cell came from. 2 x Facett Red Tops as lifter pumps, feeding an ATL 1.5ltr swirl pot.Titan Motorsports have recommended that I use a Fuelab Prodigy Fuel Pump rated at 140GPH/1300HP and a Fuelab 818 filter with a 75 micron stainless steel element, this filter I have been informed will support 200 gallons/Hr, so well capable for my needs The Facet pumps are spec'd (per pump) as follows: Part No: RTW506 Spec: 'Competition' Pump: (480532E) Voltage: 12v Earth: Neg Pressure: 6.0 - 8.0 Flow rate (US Gallon/Hr): 40 Dry prime: Height in mtrs: 0.6 Thread size NPTF: 1/4 Operating temp: -60C +43C Power range (BHP): 200+ This is the colour that I've setled on.... it's a flat matt lumi yellow, that will contrast nicely with the bare carbon. Very distinctive, so ideal for advertising my new company name, logo and sponsors...

Benefits of switching to Q45 throttle chambers
Stripped I stripped the door skins, but still too heavy and a tad too much flex so its gonna' be either Escort Racing FRP doors (which are for SWB so would need a bit of work) or Final Konnexion FRP doors (which don't have a B pillar so both SWB & LWB)

Benefits of switching to Q45 throttle chambers
Yes mate, I'm talking Q45 throttle bodiesn not MAF's have made some progress on the old girl, pretty much everything that could be stripped has been, and she's almost ready to go to sand blast all excess brackets etc have been removed, now getting started on the last few where the dash used to be, then its just a case of subframes off (they're getting blasted also) and engine on a stand....jobs a good 'en Typically the attic space above the garage as well as the garage itself; that I had cleared out, has now suddenly filled up with boxes full of car parts.... old looms out ready to be used as a template. Dave Rowe (see this months Total Nissan mag) would appear to be the man for the job and have been playing about with different locations for the oil cooler and have settled on building it into the front bumper, forward of the fmic Here's the engine spec list as it stands Engine specification: 3.0 ltr V6, 24 valve, variable valve timing, twin turbo. -Re-bored block with 20 thou' oversized JE-Arias forged pistons -Carrillo Super A-beam forged con rods -Twin Garrett T3 GT675-RS Roller bearing turbos -Dual HKS intakes -Twin ARC bov's *from BNR34 GTR, now being mounted on custom intake hard pipes* -Accusump (3 qrt) -ARC oil cooler off BNR34 GTR -GREX sandwich plate -ARC relocation plate off BNR34 GTR -Braided oil lines -Greddy oil catch tank -Greddy 3 row fmic -Greddy large racing radiator off track G50 -Greddy silicone couplers -Flexihose radiator pipework -ARP Cylinder head and main stud bolt kit -New valves re-seated with new hydraulic lifters -complete lower engine balance (crank, flywheel, pulleys with rods, pistons) -Full Nissan engine gasket set -New EFI wiring loom *Dave Rowe* -New oil and water pump -Nismo thermostat -Cometic steel head gasket -Power Enterprises kevlar timing belt with Nissan V belts -Nissan series 2 Power transistor unit -Z1 Motorsport 3rd stage clutch and lightened and balanced flywheel -Set of 4 Unorthodox Racing lightened and balanced pulleys *the 2 that were diffy (cheers Ztech....not!) are now on order* -Samco hose kit with plenum water bypass -Fuelab prodigy fuel pump *on order from titan* -Fuelab high flow fuel filter -Braided fuel hoses -ATL fuel cell -ATL 1.5ltr swirl pot -Turbosmart FRP-800 -ATL safety valve -Labree 5 bolt aluminium divorced down pipes & custom side exit front pipes -JECS 1000cc injectors now on order to replace current Nismo 740cc injectors with lower plenum -300 degree fuel rail now on order to replace current 1995 fuel rail and connectors -AEM EMS (v1) -Twin AEM wide band UEGO/LAMBDA sensors -AEM 5 bar map sensor -AEM water meth injection kit (1 gallon tank) -AEM 8 channel ignition module -Greddy Profec spec s boost controller -Greddy turbo timer Loads more but will get a new build thread going, now that its back on track (no pun intended) New colour for the zed has been chosen. Not to everyones taste, its a tad....shall we say...loud New Enkei's (9J & 10J) going for refurb (white centres) The 9J's will be kept for spares and the 10J's are going on the front. New rear fenders are planned, so just bought these SSR's, which are very similar to the Enkei's, from Dino (Japan Dyno) 11.5's should fill the new rear arches out nicely...(again refurbed chrome with white anodised centres) As some scumbag has just robbed my previous set of Sparco's I've just bought a nice Sparco kevlar with OMP rails

Benefits of switching to Q45 throttle chambers
Could anybody explain in simple terms the pro's and con's of switching to Q45 throttle chambers/bodies from Z32 TT type I've been offered 2 x Q45's at a decent price but am curious to see what the benefit would be. Aren't the Q45 slightly bigger (supposedly 90mm'ish?) and are they a direct one for one replacement? cheers

justice the marine way
Now you know that if that was in the UK, some poor bootie' would be getting strung up for GBH and the 'assailant' would be getting a tax payer funded holiday to Greece by way of compensation....

Ztech number ?
The bottom part is 1 piece, yes I can see that you can run 3 belts off it but still it is 'a' (ie. one) pulley surely? and though it's not Ztech's problem that I never recieved my RX7 from a particular cnut of an import company... Ztech were fully aware that I had just been ripped off and promised a good honest service. All I want is for them to finish what they started and give me the engine I paid for.
-
Ztech number ?
In a nut shell......a lot! but to be quite frank, all I want is for Chris to look at the e-mails and pics that he sent me from when we were discussing me buying his engine back in '08, then I want him to look at the spec list that he featured in Total Nissan from that same year (of which he gave me the copy showing 'my engine'; which I'm looking at right now), then I want him to look at the lump that's sat in my engine bay (pictured below) and compare them. Now to be fair to Ztech, they have never declared that the car was finished and I would hope that they would have ensured that everything was sorted had the circumstances faired differently as it stands I have a bare shell up on stands on my drive (apart from the engine/trans soon to be removed) with sub frames stripped, all of which are going for sand blasting locally within the next week or so all of the other parts have had to be stripped off the car and are now in storage, these will be re-fitted (by myself!) once the car is back from having the cage welded in and painted. I have some issues where a number of these parts, when fitted by Ztech, weren't fitted correctly in as much as there were nuts missing off some components whilst others were not tightened, however I understand that the car was never declared finished and I'm assuming that all of these issues would have been sorted prior to me putting my kids in the car! I had some reservations last year about the engine but when Chris phoned my house he offered to strip the engine in front of me and show me in person the forged internals, and that is exactly what I want him to do. The engine will be coming out very shortly, all witnessed and documented on video so there's no chance of it being suggested that it's not the engine that Ztech supplied, then we can discuss what needs doing. With regards to a lot of the work, I'm not overly arsed because it's been stripped for track, so I have no requirement for leather interior or bespoke seat rails, I'll just put it down to mis fortune on both our parts. However one place where I refuse to budge is on the engine that I bought off Ztech. I want to know 100% that I have what I am supposed to have before I go spending any more money on it Direct quote from Total Nissan Magazine: Ztech feature- Engine specification: 3.0 ltr V6, 24 valve, variable valve timing, twin turbo. Re-bored block with 20 thou' oversized JE-Arias forged pistons Carrillo Super A-beam forged con rods ARP Cylinder head and main stud bolt kit New valves re-seated with new hydraulic lifters complete lower engine balance (crank, flywheel, pulleys with rods, pistons) Full Nissan engine gasket set New EFI wiring loom New oil and water pump Nismo thermostat Cometic steel head gasket Power Enterprises kevlar timing belt with Nissan V belts Nissan series 2 Power transistor unit Z1 Motorsport 3rd stage clutch and lightened and balanced flywheel Set of 4 Unorthodox Racing lightened and balanced pulleys Samco hose kit with plenum water bypass 2 x Garrett T3 GT675-RS Roller bearing turbos Labree 5 bolt aluminium divorced down pipes Nismo 740cc injectors with lower plenum 1995 fuel rail and connectors Now I already know that the wiring loom is not new, which I was of the understanding that it would be and was sent pictures as such which is again another kick in the teeth when I re-read the article and it states the following.... (Ref fitting of a new wiring loom following an engine rebuild) Quote from Chris "We consider this to be an essential component for change during an engine build" (Ref the set of 4 Unorthodox Racing pulleys) There are only 2????? The pics that I recieved by email showed the full set of 4, and the spec list states 4 however there are only 2 fitted to the engine in my car, now I'm sure that this effects the belt length required (or not)???? There are a number of differences, there are no braided lines on my engine shown in the pics, water intake/outlet pipes are different???? However I understand that Mick was working on a lot of cars at the same time and may have missed bits/fitted the wrong parts, I don't know but I just want to speak to Chris about it and sort something out

Ztech number ?
agreed, in '08 Chris did come across as a very genuine and helpful guy hence why I trusted him with my car. As far as I am led to believe, through no fault of his own, his circumstances changed for the worse in '09. I recieved a phonecall from Chris and told to collect my car before the baillifs came around to Ztech premises. Down to Swindon I went and managed to get the zed onto the trailor (I even lent the trailor to him that day to help him out with shifting other customers zeds). A very sombre day for all, but he promised to finish my car as soon as he got back on his feet....which was great because I'd just been stung for a shit load of money by another company (in excess of £20k lost through a dodgy import company). I'd given Chris £10k to sort out my zed (I bought/swapped his engine with mine, some rims & tyres had some parts fitted plus bought some engine management etc, plus made a deal for some fabrication work to be done etc), now I need to talk with him in person to discuss all of the above. After my last request in 2010 for a contact number Chris phoned my house to say that he and/or his old mechanic Mick, would finish the work that he had already been paid for.......the problem is I can't get hold of him (Chris) and have had no reply to any emails, texts, voicemails etc. All I want is the work that I've already paid for completed, I'm not going to slate him or hold a grudge because there's no point. My car was perfect when I dropped it off and never missed a beat, hence why there's some lucky sod out there with my old lump powering their zed. Whereas mine has been sat, undriveable for the past 3 years! hence why I'm asking for a recent contact number

UK's SWEETEST SWB Z31 FOR SALE ON DW
I've been following this build on Driftworks for a while now, and spotted it a few months back in either Banzai or JP magazine. Sadly the guy is selling it and moving on so might be a nice new project for somebody to take on. A very, very rare SWB Z31....if I had the time and space I wouldn't mind taking this on myself...but not gonna' happen I'm afraid. To be fair, it looks a lot tidier than a few Z32's I've seen recently http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/146238-88-z31-300zx-turbo-swb-2-seater-supa-dupa-rare.html

Eyes peeled: Rare 'do luck rims' stolen
Just trying to help this guy get his rims back/stop the thief from selling them on. The fella's not part of the Zed scene but still, I figure we should all pull together to stop these robbing fookers' in their tracks and hopefully bring them to justice....not to mention, wouldn't want a forum member to un-knowingly buy them and then either mistakingly get blamed for the theft or get in trouble with PC plod (not that they'll actually do anything....) http://www.driftworks.com/forum/other-chat/146315-urgent-stolen-do-luck-double-6s.html cheers

fast5
Thoroughly enjoyed this and highly recomended; though obviously it has to be watched for what it is. Loads of cars, loads of smashes and loads of action....though I couldn't help being a bit of a spotter.... I understand the storyline that this is a prequal etc (hence Hans character having not yet been toasted in Tokyo, however...) Tokyo Drift was made in 2006 if I remember correctly...... Now the Nissan GTR and the CF Ltd Edition CCRX wasn't released until after that.....Holywood eh? Like I said, spotter (I'll get my coat)

Ztech number ?
Straight over my head, sorry?

Ztech number ?
Cheers fella'.......but unless Chris has actually been topped by an unhappy customer ^^^^^^ doesn't really help me

Ztech number ?
To be honest £4,000 for 700 miles is a lot better than my £10,000 for '0' miles, but to be fair I'm just trying to find Chris so we can sort it out. It's only been 3 years now and last time I posted up about it on here somebody got in touch with Chris and he phoned my home number the following day. Now I'm still waiting for the work to be finished, and haven't had a reply to any of the e-mails or mobile voicemails that I've left? any ideas on how to contact him or his old mechanic Mick?
-
Ztech number ?
OK. I've found an advert in the back of Banzai for Ztech but it's coming up as an Orange mobile voicemail...if anybody knows Chris can you ask him to give me a bell please (Tony ref his engine) cheers

Ztech number ?
Old thread...but does anybody have a current contact number/address for Chris at Ztech? cheers
