  1. then the black Porsche Cayenne manual drove past.......
  2. I'm just sat here surfing t'interweb trying to find (to no avail) a wiring diagram for my Toyota Granvia (everything on the van is in Japanese) and in the background I've got 'A Car is Reborn' on TV. Mark (the host) is rebuilding an E type Jag, which after taking the shell back to bare metal, showed a lot of pretty bad repair work that had been carried out over the years. Well he's just taken it to a classic car body repair specialist who's used a process called 'Lead Loading' to repair parts of the damaged shell. Very expensive and time consuming, but by the looks of the end result it's well worth the effort. It just got me thinking about how car enthusiasts generally opt for the cheaper body filler repair, which has become the norm as opposed to the older and more traditional methods of lead loading and panel beating. Obviously there's a huge difference in the value between a zed and an E type, let alone its final post restoration value and obviously there's a difference in modern metals used in car construction these days anyway, back to searching for wiring diagrams......
  3. Can you post the vid up bud?
  4. I know a couple of lads based down at Tidworth/Bulford who'd probably do it for you mate I could always ask
  5. We have a 'was it you?' section....didn't know that
  6. This is....... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-FORD-KA-SPORT-SE-Sport-KA-/130540291548?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1e64cec5dc or did I misunderstand the question.........
  7. The young lad looks chuffed to nuts with the trophy....good effort bud *Come to think of it, that garage setup on your lawn looks more professional than some of the now defunct so called zed specialists!*
  8. ^^^^ see I've learnt something new again, as I had a guy in the states tell me previously that the carbon fuel filler door that he was selling would only fit a SWB. I ended up waiting 3 weeks for him to get a LWB version in stock....
  9. Long runs maybe, sea walks always see me off.
  10. How is it a pointless topic? As we are constantly reminded in the real world, you can drive a 200+mph hyper car on the road but the law limits you to 70 mph, therefore 0-62 mph statistics of our cars is actually quite relevent and useful to know as that is a realistic benchmark for real world driving of a zed. Granted 50-120 mph stats would be useful info also, especially for overtakes etc but still, I disagree that the topic of 0-62 mph is pointless. Crack on with the 50-120 sprints (assuming its not an import that's restricted in which case you won't ever get to your 120 mph target anyway). IMHO all info with regards to the zed is good knowledge to have tucked away in the back of your mind........ now does anybody know the weight difference in ounces between a SWB fuel cover and a LWB fuel cover????:whistling:
  11. Nah, I want something with a bit of power.................
  12. In theory would a SWB TT be slightly quicker 0-62 in a straight line, than an identically spec'd LWB TT and would the SWB have a shorter braking distance? **does anybody have any real world experience of a similar comparison (spec for spec) cheers
  13. Now that would make me laugh.....I wonder how long it would take for him to clock the wind up Maybe ask if you can meet up down at the slip way and ask him to help you load the trailor into the boat... :boat::boat::boat::boat::boat::boat:
  14. Yeah I know what you're saying mate, I've already politely asked what extra work has been done for him to have increased the price by £2,000 and that was the come back. Exactly as you say 'CAPS LOCK ON!!!' very aggresive... The guy needs to have a word with himself, he'll need to learn eventually for the sake of his business I would have gone to around £8,000 for a cash purchase; which is still probably a little over the odds to be fair You'll probably find that the guy has owned that particular RIB from new and has been trying to sell it since 1987.....his rudeness has obviously put a lot of people off over the years
  15. Yeah I've come across plenty of those 'up their own arse' types down at Sand Banks, more money than sense, a lot of them Jetty's from their backgarden, which obviously means (in their eyes at least) that they have right of way with regards to anything wet at the end of their garden.... Quite laughable when 4 grey RIBs or MIBs go tearing past....and we even get paid for it, much to their annoyance how dare we use their water!!
  16. Have you considered the SPL kit that GONZO12C is selling at a bargain reduced price.....do away with it altogether http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/300zx-SPL-Hicas-eliminator-best-kit-there-/110708281777?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c6ba51b1
  17. Original ebay ad at £10,000 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300562487708&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT latest ebay ad now £12,000 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300572357050&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  18. Just wanted to have a bit of a vent after a recent encounter with some arrogant p**ck on ebay who thought he was being clever In a nut shell, I've been looking for an ex military RIB (boat) to use as part of a new business venture and I found one for sale on ebay up for £10,000. Now £10,000 is quite steep for what is effectively a 20+ year old boat that looks slightly worse for wear, though not a ludicrously high price as there's always scope for barter anyway, I asked a few questions and was waiting on some more detailed pics, in the meantime the listing ended and unfortunately had recieved no pics I carried on searching and recently noticed that the RIB had been relisted but the price has now been increased to £12,000, which of course the seller is entitled to do, but I was curious as to what work had been carried out since it was last listed just two weeks ago to justify the extra £2,000 addition to the price tag (I was thinking that maybe it had recieved an engine overhaul or minor repair etc) I politely enquired and the come back was basically as follows: "YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT LAST WEEK , AS THIS IS THE NEW PRICE , AND IN MY OPION STILL UNDERVALUED , REGARDS" To be fair, that is one hell of a way to go about pissing off a genuine cash buyer and losing a sale Why are some people such K**b heads these days?
  19. Ah, that explains it then cheers bud
  20. Just a quick question, is the genuine Strosek wide arch rear quarters made from metal or FRP? thanks
  21. Playing soldiers??? Sorry, not my thing
  22. Cheers bud that's a shame, I'm in the market for a SWB and was hoping to fit the pair of LWB Blitz back boxes that I've had sat in my attic gathering dust for the past 12 months I was hoping that it would be workable with minor fabrication work oh well, thanks again mate
  23. I've never understood why some people, when selling a car, aren't up front about things like condition and mileage. When the buyer will see straight away that the condition isn't as described in the advert or as in this case, the odometer clearly states differently. Unless the seller has paperwork to support the 'replacement engine' claim then you have to assume that it's the original surely. Just wastes other peoples time and if they've travelled, it costs the potential buyer money as well, which they have no way of claiming back.
  24. How much difference in length and angle/bend is there between a LWB and SWB exhaust rear section (back box)? thanks in advance :thumbup1:
  25. Idiots is exactly right but there are some bold claims coming out of the Max Power clan. The last time I bought Max Power (other than last night) was 1998 when it was all chopped springed 205's and piss heads in Tesco's car parks, now umpteen years on it's no change. The only thing that I think of that they trail blazed is leading the charge on antagonising the Police (which anybody with a slightly modified motor has now reaped the benefit of) and higher insurance premiums. It is what it is (a spring board for Nuts and Loaded magazine and a source of duff info) Better off without IMHO
