  1. No mate, a 2ton trolley jack !!!!!!!! It's twisted so when you raise it a wheel pops of the ground. ****ed is the tech term lol
  2. Will be keeping the blue one mate, its my old red one I'm binning. If I get posted back to the UK the lights are yours mate.
  3. Decided today was the day to get the cats and exhaust off my red wreck, they are last bits I need off it then it can be scrapped and off the car park. However didn't go to plan. Cats are in a shit state and can't really be used on my blue Zed, so that pissed me off. So moved the trolley jack so I could get to the cat back bit better, only to realise half way up that the jack was not sitting right so bent the thing beyond use :censored: So now need to get a new jack so I can bin the car before going away next week for 4 months.
  4. Cheers for the info guys. General opinion is the worst case scenario then. If it turns out to be tubs is it a simple job to do? I.e. Can it be done with the engine still in or is it an out job? As far as I know the PCV were genuine new items, they came with the car when I bought it. I'm going to put the cats back on, I realise this isn't a solution but if it might mask the smoke then it's worth doing, it's pretty embarrassing, a local thought it was on fire when I was at some lights LOL.
  5. It's a weird one mate, done the usual checks for head gasket and all clear, Jeff didn't highlight that as a problem either. Will try and put the cats off my UK car on it and fit the mongoose exhaust I have too. See what happens.
  6. I did yeah, the main reason was a number of boost leaks when the engine wasn't put back in properly, caused overfuelling and a lot of smoke. Done over 700 miles on the new valves now. Jeff squared a lot away but it normally only happens in traffic which is quite embarrasing LOL
  7. Cheers buddy, PCV's are new so should be ok!!!!!!!!
  8. OK, here is a couple of videos showing my smokey Zed. It only happens at idle from the right hand bank BUT it don't happen every time. The PC Valves were changed and have now covered over 500 miles, its de-catted and has an aftermarket exhaust. I have a set of cats to put on it to see what happens. Now I'm sure turbo seals are going to be commented about, all I ask is we look outside the box at other possibilities, ones that can be fixed on my driveway. Is it possible it could be oil deposits in the intercoolers, exhaust pipes etc? pPTvwHj0tFM 58dRSoY-xK4 Cheerz, Rob
  9. True but it takes them bloody years to complete anything LOL
  10. Not by a lot mate, pretty similar distance I think. Sure yours will be fine mate. The only problem is the smoke on mine which put doubt in my mind, it's ok on the move, no smoke at all but about 60% of the time on idle it pumps out stinking oily smoke. It clears if you rev above 1500rpm. I'm hoping that putting the cats back on will give me some back pressure back and cure it !!!!!!!!
  11. We (the Army) get tax free fuel in Germany, works out about half price
  12. Erm £75 in England to fill it, put €40 in it in Holland and then roughly 15 litres of tax free fuel. It roughly works out about 1.75 tanks. Rough working out about 30mpg.....ish.
  13. Awesome mate love it, glad it got there ok, Army posties ain't the gentlest of guys LOL.
  14. I'll try and get it to do it and take a film, lookout for a new thread coming soon
  15. I did the PC Valves but this should have burnt off by now, NickZ32 said it may be a puddle of oil that's built up in the intercooler??????
  16. Only about 170km of Autobahns LOL. Didn't smash it tho as it was 5am and was pretty knackered by then. I've had problems with the smoke before but this was down to boost leaks and subsequent over fuelling. It's de-catted so will put some on and see what happens.
  17. Yesterday the Zed did a 800km trip without a single problem. Started in Andover, then via Basingstoke arrived in Dover. Quick trip over the splosh and next stop was home, Gutersloh in Germany. Purred all the way there, only problem the fuel gauge goes down quite quickly LOL. On the down side there's still smoke from the right hand exhaust :censored:, only on idle and not every time, very strange !
  18. Bugger didn't think of that LOL
  19. Z1 do a metal replacement for $10. Thats the way I'm going with mine mate
  20. I know mate, supposedly the book says it takes 3.5 hours when new. Add in the standard garage ballsh1t and because its 20 odd years old will take way over 5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starting to get really annoyed with it now
  21. If you could mate that would be great. Tryed 2 more in Andover today and both said no !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. It's totally shot mate, got the new one, just needs fitting. Nissan will fit for £400+VAT, but I'm not stupid enough to pay that, unfortunately a normal garage don't seem to be interested! All of a sudden far too busy.
  23. Bad news ..................... The car could potentially be broke still on Thursday. For some reason nobody is interested in fixing mr wheel bearing issue. If this is the case I won't be able to make it as I will be stuck near Andover car less. I'll keep you updated.
  24. Totally agree, said that earlier in the thread.
