1. Today being the first dry, sunny, windless and post zero degrees day of the year in my part of the world, there was little question of how I was going to spend the day... give the Z a good old wash and plenty of wax! Really pleased with the results, and just hope there is no rain for the rest of the week or it will all be in vain. 2. Thanks; just need to keep the kids out of it!
3. Thanks. You're right; it is exceptionally clean which is why I bought it as originally my target was the 3.0 litre. That said, I almost bought the 4.2 V8 (:cool3:) but then chickened out due to the fuel consumption, especially as fuel costs are likely to rise forever going forwards. Very tempting though...

5. With my Merc sadly written off long before it's time, it's been time to move on. Thought I'd try something different and got this 2 weeks ago. It's a Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 Sport. The wheels make interesting reading; 17" on 235 tyres!
6. Buy the one you like as you will have to live with it. Merc SL for me all the way. The most beautiful affordable roadster on the road IMHO.
7. BTW, would the gearbox/clutch need to be replaced, i.e. would an NA box and clutch be strong enough?
8. My engine is super healthy so I would definitely want to re-use it. Is it easier to install another engine or modify the existing one? Who did the conversion for you? Sounds quite low @ £300...
9. There's also been much talk of adding superchargers etc., but I don't know if anyone anywhere has actually tried it.
10. Sorry for asking a question that has probably been asked countless times before, but if I wanted to convert my N/A in to a TT, how much am I looking at all in (parts and labour)? Don't need the details, just an approximate figure + number of days required for the work. Thanks.
11. White/cream is essential on the trim and accentuates the beauty of the dash/interior/doors. Did you do the work yourself or use a professional?
12. Never noted the Z on the front... When selling the car, you could now state "...still with original first aid kit..." and no-one would be the wiser!
13. Superb. Like it alot, and I see that the seats are all black which is great. The problem with any white in the seat is that it will become filthy very quickly. Cream is bad enough but white would be horrendous I think.
14. Continuing on the colour theme, what combinations look best with a white exterior. I know black is the traditional combination, but I want to re-do mine is a light colour, ideally cream. However, I don't believe this goes at all well with a white exterior. The other option is a white interior, though keeping the seats black to avoid most of the dirt. Any ideas and does anyone have photos of white interiors? I think Funki Si's was white and looked stunning.
15. Ice white for me, although certain shades of red are also outstanding. I have to say though that in certain colours it can look very plain Jane, which is surprising for such a good looking car.
16. I get around 16mpg in town, and 25-28 on the motorway in my NA. The town figure is expected but I would have hoped for nearer 30 on the motorway at a sensible speed. I think the main reason is that the gearing is not high enough, especially in 5th. It's doing 3000rpm at 70mph. My E-class used to do 2500rpm at that speed and my Jag runs at 2200rpm (which for a 2.5 is very low but that's probably due to the 6th gear. Mind you, it hasn't translated in to the expected great mpg...only 31!). If only there was some way of making 5th gear higher...
17. Great news and congratulations, but doubt you'll be in the UK for your Z!
18. Baz, The first pic of the black car, from the rear, is stunning and you are clearly a great photographer. What kind of settings did you use for the black photos and I am assuming you used a tripod.
19. Lovely. The best angle of the front I think.
20. BTW, can anyone with the skills possibly come up with white versions of both cars? Not being picky, but ice white would be perfect! Sorry, don't have hi-res versions of these.
