  1. Welcome mate, i've gone from a 300tt to an mr2 turbo, lol. Am considering another z, but it'll be an n/a version next time. Good luck mate.
  2. As above, has anyone done this to a td? Does it have the same performance gains as de-catting a petrol turbo engine?
  3. Just keep at it mate, ride at your own pace, don't be afraid to get off and walk if you need to, we all started somewhere. I find it easier to do about 3-4 miles at a slow pace to warm up a bit, before tackling any hills.. Try to find a rhythm of pedalling you are happy with, then use the gears to keep at that rhythm, when you go up hills, or technical stuff etc.. I believe it's called 'cadence'.
  4. I rode just over 2500 miles last year, 80% of that was off road. Your arse never gets used to it, trust me! Doesn't hurt as much as when i started, but you still know when you've been out on yer bike!!
  5. IIRC, thats the one with the skyline gt-r engine & running gear. Lovely car!
  6. Thats probably about right for an n/a, they don't fetch much at all. Auto's are even cheaper. I used to do some valeting for a guy who imported supra's, he reckoned he could get me a n/a auto for around £1500!
  7. Sorry to hear of your loss dave.:(
  8. Happy birthday guys...:duffer:
  9. As above folks, have heard rumours for a while about this. Anyone who remembers the specials will undoubtably be 'nursing a semi right now' as i am! Would seem it's gonna be true, the original line-up too:bow: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/news/20080330_specials.shtml This has a bit of info about it, have also heard through 'the grapevine' that there will be 5 consecutive nights at the brixton academy, how true this is, i don't know. Anyone not heard of the specials... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWZzsxgH2gY&feature=related if you don't tap your feet to this, then you have no feet!:D
  10. Am changing jobs soon, have been 'on the tools' for 20yrs, finally landed myself a job off the tools, trousers & shirt etc:wack: Anyways, i need to use my own car for work, around 800-1000 miles a month. Currently running a mondeo 2.0, which is gonna be a bit thirsty for my liking. Have narrowed down my search to a 306 turbo diesel, seem to be able to pick one up for around a grand, dont look too bad, economical and reasonably nippy. Has anyone got any experience with them? Things i should look out for etc? Gonna be getting 40p per mile allowance with apparantly is quite good too. Thanks in advance...Simon.
  11. Happy birthday andy...
  12. Happy birthday mate..
  13. Ooooh, nasty!
  14. Hi John, i'm from the oxford area too. Whereabouts do you take it if you don't mind me asking? Also, you could try Brad at Motovation in Hanney Nr Wantage, he used to look after my z, and looks after another local z too. He had one in a while ago for some welding, sills etc, so i'd imagine he's capable of the repairs you need.
  15. I do a bit of 'paint restoration' in my spare time, do a lot of the local authority vehicles before they sell them. Took some before and after pics of the last one... As you can see, it was in a bit of a state! Not been polished for at least 5yrs or so. Here's some of the 'after' pics... Half a door, just to show the difference... Took about 7hrs all told!
  16. In no particular order... Getting laid for the first time... Racing motocross, especially the first corner... Downhill mountainbiking in Afan, Wales...
  17. Someone pass john terry a hankie, poor bloke:rofl:
  18. Yeah, mine's a rotary, didn't realise the meguiars was an orbital. The flex can be a handful at times, very powerful. I mainly use it for 'cutting & mopping' faded paint, it's ideal for that & the heads are available from screwfix, so no probs there!
  19. Yep, what he said. Used to swear by 'mothers' polish, but this stuff is just as good and more readily available too. If you really want the 'perfect' job, use a claybar before the 3 stage polish's. Claybarring a z would take about half a day though!:D
  20. I've got a machine polisher, it's a 'flex electronic'. Good bit of kit, variable speed etc. It's just a bit big & heavy at times, can give you 'arm pump'. That Meguiars one looks nice and small, would probably be easier to use than mine, whats the cost of it?
  21. Godddammit, i love you! Thanks bud, next time we meet at reading i'll get ya a milkshake!
  22. Lol, town called malice.. the jam, brings back the same memories for me, my first girlfriend, i must've been 12, reckon i kissed her at least twice!
