  1. i made my own, but i've got the bezel if ya like, touchin the front of the surround, i had some black vinyl left so i wrapped the outside of the gauges with it, looks tasty...
  2. well, around the ignition barrel is a pick up coil for the chip in the key, have removed that and the code light stays on when you put the key in, put it back on, put the key back in and the code light goes out, so i'm guessing it's working, bit of a bizzare one as it started up after a good hour of fettling, but nothing in particular, ran pefrect, drove it about 5 miles, back to unit, turned it off, never fired or even tried since.... aaargh... 'F'ix 'I't 'A'gain 'T'omorrow :)
  3. well i'm off down the unit soon, left the battery off overnight, will try and start it with the blue key first, possible cam sensor or crank angle tho, as the injector light shouldn't stay on, well, i don't think so anyways, wish i had one to compare it to! need to get it right and get it flogged! cheers....
  4. :2guns: i know this should be in non zed stuff, but i'm thinking more people read this as i need to sort it!!!... (if a mod wants to move it then fire away!) basically got a fiat coupe 20v NA, 96', will not spark, immobised i think, however, after generally messing about, changing the accelerator cable which had snapped, disconnecting the battery for a while, it randomly just started... earlier that day, my mate bought it, he started it up 4 or 5 times with no probs, towed it to the unit, then it gave up... just wondering if anyone on here may have one? the code light stays on for a second or 2, then goes off, but the injector light stays on, but a very quick flash off for a split second when the ABS light goes out... Fuel pump is priming, cut off switch is fine, even held the spark plug with my hand when turning over, no HT whatsoever... and not a sausage of a smell of petrol blowing out the exhaust of even the cylinder with the plug out... cant seem to find anything relavent anywhere.... also have the red and blue key... any advice if someone owns one would be cracking!
  5. if you do go a garage, make sure they point out and prove where the problem is, maybe get a pic then come back to us, shouldnt cost much for an inspection, but dont tell em thats all you want :)
  6. did he smoke it or eat it? maybe try eating it, different effect, takes ages to kick in tho...
  7. i used a drum stick
  8. could be a bad earth mate, if you search for it, there is a few threads on it, you can do a simple mod whereas you take a nice solid earth to your lights... hth mate...
  9. Me too! I hate it, people don't understand how much we put into these cars, it's finished when it's finished! :gun_bandana:
  10. don't watch CSI, watch loose women, then you'll be right in the mood for cracking bolts :)
  11. fuel leak (maybe on the top of plenum), so it's lost pressure over night?
  12. i've been doing mine for 3 years too, but have never got to the point where i have wanted to give up, i've always taken the opinion that 'money i might not have, but time i have got', i didn't set a deadline, to be honest, if i had it wouldn't have been done, still isn't!
  13. bad times mate, just another thing that keeps us all busy tho eh? any joy with the headlights? or are you still smoking cherry/green stuff :)
  14. not the clearest pic matey, that's not coming from the cam cover is it?
  15. i'm sure they are bog standard, either m8 or m10, i found a nut sraight away to clean the thread up after i fettled em....
  16. green flavour might be even more relaxing :) :) just thinking, 2 left handed thread nuts is pointless, one and a right hander yeah, so it locks, but have to be thin nuts, could use 2 normal ones if ya can lock em... i wish you were closer matey, my hands are made for the job! skinny and long fingers, i'm a keyboard player by trade :) they have adapted!
  17. good point wowser, never thought of that, although it does seem to be ok, the rubbers that are part of it are all perfectly flush, so we will see!
  18. i guess yours are deffo alot tighter than mine were then.... Not too sure i'm afraid, have a brew, have a cig (even if ya don't smoke :) Best of luck pal, if i can think of anything else, i'll let you know, have you soaked em good n' proper in a penetrating fluid? could help, or find a small child with a slight knowledge of nuts (ahem) and bolts and spanners, get there hand in! I managed to get a bent spanner on without removing the recircs, think one of em i had to hit with a hammer, don't get me wrong, took me a few hours to get just those two bolts off!!! Bit random, but a left handed thread nut/2 nuts the same thread might go on the top of it, them you could use that to unscrew the bolt??? then you have to remove them of course, just a thought pal...
  19. ya gotta crack it with a spanner tho more than likely, i have got not small but slender hands, the clips on my recircs didn't want to come off.... I also got a 12mm spanner, put it in the vice, blow torch got it red hot, then put an angle on the shaft close to the ring end by hitting it, dropped it in water, 1 modified spanner, really did help... but if you've got or can get a spanner with a pivot/moveable whatever they are called ends on, probably just as good, maybe better, i keep meaning to invest in a set!
  20. i did it not long back, first i used a hacksaw blade in my hand filing a git in the top on the bolt, and after just about cracking it, and using a screwdiver i had 'thinned' the tip of on the grindstone, i got them, and i did it without removing the recircs, be patient, file a nice deep git in the top of it, crack it, even a little bit, oil it up, then try the screwdriver on it, might have to crack it a bit more, it is a royal PITA, i took my bumper off to do mine also. when i put them back on, i used 2 fresh bolts from the other corners, cut a nice perfect git in them, managed to start them with my hand, then the screwdriver does the rest, and the ones i originally put a git in went in the other holes... HTH matey...
  21. We could do a 'Mr 300zx'? Might not be many applicants tho :cool3: I've got a bunch of 20 year old models itching to pose on my car, just need it finished, nice day, nice setting, thinking a bit of sun, sea, and, erm, more sun and sea and a bit of sand knowing my luck, haha... doesn't count as a miss tudor tho, well, wish me luck anyway, maybe next year hehe :) I think it's lovely being proud of your better half and showing them off to the world...
  22. raggy dolls, raggy dolls, dolls like you and meeeeee :) (sadsack haha)
  23. all my clips where square too, and i had a square hole :) didn't use them as said above tho...
  24. i made fixings that slide in place of the original clips, i ground the head of some bolts to a square so they slotted into the perspex strip instead of the clips, fitted it then put nuts and washers on, i can remove it and fit again as many times as i want and it wont damage :)
