  1. i've driven a diesel cupra R, with the chip etc. was very impressed, was rapid and very very torquey, i think it was pushing about 280bhp......
  2. sorry for the hijack but groover, is it the R10 resistor on the back of the cluster? what do you change it to? does that convert it from from kph to mph? mine is playing up, would rather do it proper than fit another converter effort.....
  3. hahahaha, fair do's, I thought you were the tired one and couldn't spell 'stock' :) I'll get my coat.......
  4. might be able to just bend it a bit from the front without removing it, can't remember, i'm very tired!
  5. you can take your gauges out, i.e. the dash cluster, then pop the perspex front off, 2 screws hold the boost gauge in from the back, and bend the needle mechanism a bit, it is very delicate tho, the 'stock' boost gauges are pretty innacurate anyways, but i can understand you just wanting it to look right, i had to do this with mine.... be gentle tho, don't break it!!! *disclaimer*
  6. yep, still an emissions test, but lower threshold as it's a non-cat test, i think....
  7. crikey, that's chronic mate, that's where a little bit of knowledge goes a long long way!
  8. it's on virgin media player, last nights newsnight, was on at 22:30 BBC2, zed is @ 37:22, it's an 89 spec front bumper, think he's in sanfransisco? :)
  9. well said stellaz...........
  10. yeah, i doubt it too, just a bit of extra cast, the wall of the plenum 'should' be the same without it....
  11. only hot water goes through the water pipes (once warmed up anyways) :) I'll be doing mine soon too, got a leak on a cam cover, so might as well do it whilst the plenum is off....
  12. iirc they send warm water around the throttle bodies for if the car is used in extreme cold climates, something like that, and it elliminates unnecessary pipes that could fail, and makes it a hell of a lot easier to remove/re-fit the plenum in the future..
  13. he's sold 14, i hope that was before the typing error!
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310213954935&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D310213954935%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
  15. he could of just as easily killed him with one punch... stabbing does seem a bit harsh, but, we all have our limits, he wasn't the youngest of people, and if it has been going on for years, i say medal.
  16. might be a dodgy connection it as opposed to the sensor itself?
  17. wow, that's some good work there!
  18. have you got a rear fog? sometimes it's taken off after the MOT....
  19. Seeing as they are our pride and joys, have you affectionatley named them? Mine's called Trudolf :)
  20. the other (yet more urination into the preverbial wind) could be an ABS sensor?
  21. i might be completely wrong, but did the UK have a diff oil level light on it? could be the sensor for it, but i might well be pi55ing into the wind...
  22. welcome matey! I'm in bolton, i always do the work my self, so unfortunately, i don't know of any zed speialists, infact, can't say i've ever heard of one to be honest!
