  6. theres me the last couple days slowly stripping me car down again to have her repainted again as i wasnt 100 percent happy and want to change a cuple of things when my nice clean sharp looking bit of exspensive black perspex strip that once looked like this. to this in a snap of a secound ouch that just cost me about a tonne i recon, rubish. needs to say that the air was blue just when one of my partners friends pulls onto the drive. put tools down until tomorow now cas dont want to break out else. toms another day hey ho .
  7. What did you use then?

  9. here we are the dirty connectors that were very loose and dirty. and heres the plug now nice and clean. now all back together and had a quick run up the road, It was like driving a different car, almost like i gained a cylinder and quite possiblly have. felt so much crisper quicker and not lumpey and no smell of fuel, . cheers guys.
  10. carbon canister link, cant find the link, dose anyone know please
  11. IVE taken out the fuel fuse taken of the battery just incase i manage to short a wire out . dont want any sparks, undid the petrol cap to releave a bit of pressure and left it overnight so here i go.

  14. heres the culprit. . and you can see which one it is, its diff to get to prop. And you can see the other leads under that silicon stuff that are not home properly. thus lumpy running sometimes.
  15. Right i had a good look around with a cold car not used today and turned on the ignition to get the fuel pressure thats norm there when im of up the road. coulnt find anything, but still stunk of fuel so carefully folowed the smell to the throttle cover. took it of and right up the back umoung all the little fule pipes one of was almost not done up at all and was compleatly wet with fuel around that area. right near the back injector treis to tighten up but really need to take of the balence pipe and move out of the way, whilst there i had a good look around and found that were the fuel has dampend the area around first injector plug and were there is some sealant still there the plugs are relatively loose and have green on the tiny plugs that are bearly on the top of the injector. so rather than bodge it iv decided ill take of the balance bar tomorow clean up that area and those little injector wire plugs reseal with sealant and retight up and check all those surrounding plugs. This then should stop the smell of petrol and make her run sweater when cold espeaslly when and somtimes a tad lumpy. that should also possibly save a bit of fuel especially with a cylinder not working 100 percent all the time. i recon if i was to take out that plug it would be very wet. hope this fixes all then tiny gremlins, thanks for your advice guys and pics to follow.
  16. thanks for your input on this one Jeff as its been very helpful and although not finished the job because of childrens school run ect ive found the pfrob i think , thanks to your advice.

  19. Why is it that sometimes more often than not its when my cars first being used/ it stinks of petrol? i now its yet to be set up cas ive put a hudge fmic on her but it was straped up to a consult i beleave/ hope , and everything is as it should be , like revs, most of the time apart from the first mile when at the fisrt junction the revs bounce a little around the 6k to the 7.5 k but thats when could and ive just got to the first junction, after witch the revs sit were they should do. the heater comes on within the fisrt mile and the temp is were it should be before i get to the secound mile. but in any time after in the day i can smell a strong smell of petol and even have strangers comming to me when ive poped into a shop, saying sorry mate can you smell petrol. there is no leakes as far as i can tell, and apart from the drinking to much petrol of witch i put down to me putting the fmic on and not being over to Noels place yet. Am i overlooking somthing? is something need replacing? or is it just because i need a remap? oh it also has a very large k a N air filter straped to the maff as well? thanks guys/ girls.
