How F***ing much
I just am not enjoying it. Ever since I drove the Noble in anger on the circuit nothing else lights my fire. + I spend all my time Gauge whatching. Pushing hard then backing off before she fries. 10 minute buzz is at a time is just not enough. I realized today that I'll never get my Zed to perform like I want, because what i want really is a Noble. I can keep saying, " yep but I've spent so much I've got to stick with it and see it through". But why. I could have had 2 Nobles. Your Right Wozzer it won't be cheeper, but I'll be spending the same money on Track time and more trips like the NurbergRing Run. Instead off constantly trying to get my car to work as I want it to. Which it carn't because its a Zed and not a Noble. So because I can't buy a Noble now unless her indoors can understand my pain and put it before the completion of the Barn. ( Don't think so) then I'll keep her till winter and sell in spring. Thats it Mind made up and I feel better, because I'm going to keep my Noble Standard and just rape it at weekends. Though Thiland does sound like a more sensible option. Here You go. Perfect example of why these cars just induce you to spend money you really shouldn't. I just looked at Glens rides and thought what a smart rear bumper. that would look good in mine. I made my mind up to sell it and i'm still buying. It has to srop.

How F***ing much
Last month alone I spent £786 on Optimax and £577.31 on parts and labour. Previous month I spent £2500 in parts and labour, + £550 for some wheels and £300 refurbing them and the month before £2500 on parts. + I need a new diff and a load of silly little bits that got taken of and never returned from GPS. So in three months I have spent £6,427.31 on repares and upgrades. Proberbly more as I haven't added up the tweeks bills and a staggering £1,771.00 of Optimax. Thats £136 petrol aweek. Thats almost £40,000 pounds spent on this car in 2 years and 4 months excluding fuel. I'm going to sort the diff and then proberbly sell it. That is madness and the amount of grief. If I'd have enjoyed it all I wouldn't give a dam, but I haven't. I think I'm going to draw line under it and sell it. Then save up for a Noble.

Wow, what a girl!
If you read what she has put up there then you'll see her car has been Dyno'd at 611 RWHP. The silver drop head with 1000+ RWHP is a Z1 customer car and built by Z1 as an advert to Z1's engine build quality. Bobby at Z1 says thet Gregg Dupree, Jim Wolf and others have had a hand in the tuning, but he's just an American Alabama hill billy so what would know. P.S. if any of our American Cousins read this, That is a Joke.

Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you do a blink code check first? Do you have dump Valves or original Recircs? Do you have a cone type induction or the original filter housing? sorry to say this but you seem to have jumped in to deep too quickly without going through the basic funimentals first and your going to have to back track. I would start by putting every thing back as it was. Then Check your plugs first. They will tell you what has been happening and to each cylinder provided you haven't washed them clean. Then dependant on the state and colour of the plugs will depend which next basic step to take. It could have been naf coil pack or coil pack lead, an air leak, a dirty or knackered MAF. I have had the same symtom as you on 2 previous occations. once it was a broken wire insulation on the loom. Did all the same messing around as you have and only by back tracking and going through each system properly did we find it. Could only do that by starting with the fundimentals, ie spark pluggs. 2 obviously were not fireing. Checked plugs they were Ok. Checked coil pack OK Power mmm No Checked feed from ECU for those coil packs and power there. Ran 2 new wires and bingo. in the end the easyest thing was to replace the loom. £300 for loom and 2 days work, but bar thing I ever did. The second time was a bad air leak. The point I'm making is you need an other car there to test your bits you've dabble with to ensure there fine and then start from the begining and not think you know what it might be. Otherwise your going to hide what it really is by fooking with stuff that don't need touching. There must be someone in your aera who come over with his car. Once upon a time you would have had 4 or 5 local club members offering to come round at the weekend to get you sorted. This club is loosing the essance of what it was.

Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!
What did you do to car before it stopped working? Where are you? Who's near you who could come and have a look? First thing to do is ensure that the earths are connected to the back of the plenum. They are found near the throttle regulater, on the back of the plenum where its close to the bulkhead. One is right next to the coil pack on N/S (carn't remember if thats 5 or 6 without looking) and the other is at the back but closer to the centre of the plenum. If these are not connected, damaged etc so as to stop the plenum being earthed. It will just fry the PTU. Then check the earth for the injectors. That a small spade connector next to either injector 1 or 2. Then check the PTU. I know that you've been sent it as a good one and I know Paul wouldn't have sent you a duff one knowingly, but you cannot take it for granted that it is OK. See whos close to you and try it on someone elses car. Have you checked the state of the PTU harness plugs. The conectors often go green and corroded. You'll need to spray them with WD40 and get something in there to clean the little blighters up. Once you done that check again for spark. Also if you were getting fuel through and now your not you may have popped the main fuel pump fuse. Found in the small fuse box near bulkhead, next to brake master on O/S. It is a large long green 30 amp box fuse. Then Check the injector connectors and the coil pack connectors. These go brittle and break up so that the joints go dry and insolation cracks up. If they are knackerd I hav a set of coil pack connectors (sorry no injector connectors) and you can have em for £20 + post and packaging.

A sad sight....what have I started!?!
Yep this is the lump used in the US and Euro Spec Nissan Patrol. The yanks go for the Patrol version as its low compresion and turbo charge them. They are running 700bhp on stock internals. So not only is it lighter than the VG32DET its cheeper to get reliable big horses. The Japs are now Drag racing 4X4's and there is a 2000+bhp Nissan Patrol running silly times with the VH45 lump. Good luck Dave. If you doing this then I'm quite sure I'll be seeing you at Leons a fare bit.

Cleaning MAF/AFM
I will be if you use a tooth brush. I'm talking artists paint brush and Disc brake cleaner has no lubricants in it, (for obvious reasons) where as Carb cleaner has lubricants and would leave a film that will collect dirt and dust. I'm not saying it won't work, but it will start to collect crap again very quickly. My wifes TRD (pictured on my rides) has to have the MAF cleaned every 4 weeks and you can really feel a big difference each time if you drive it before and then after.

Which tyres are on your Z
Be very careful in the wet. These are good in the dry buy once they've got a thousand or 2 miles on them they become grade A post breakers and ditch finders.

Fitted hids lost 1 main beam..?
Right I'm going to have a go at insulating them this weekend and doing a rewire job on my Side lights. Chris (mines-twinturbo) Try the Halfrauds Blue Ultra bright bulbs. They are ten times better than PIAA's (I know I've tried both) They really do make a difference big time. In fact almost impossible to tell the difference between them and the HID's and at £17 per bulb a bit cheeper. I now have these in my Pickup Truck and C70.

99-spec rear wing. What's your opinion on them?
99 spec is the mutts IMO I had the Big boy because I was going Strosek Wide arsed until my engine went pop. I'm glad I didn't now as I've really gone off the Strosek Arches. Look out 2007 for Markzx Wide Arch kits. :nana2: :nana2: :nana2: Oh yea baby.

Cleaning MAF/AFM
If you remove the gause from the ends then use disc brake cleaner on a soft brush. You don't need the gause as the filter will stop any particals bigger than the gause size, but once the gause is off give the MAF a clean once a month. You will notice a difference.

Fitted hids lost 1 main beam..?
Mine were from a group buy about 3 years ago. They work great, I just cannot have side lights on without my N/S dip beam. I even wired my N/S side lights to O/S side lights and vice versa but still no joy. I think I'm going to have to wire right from dash switch to side lights so she'll pass next MOT.

Female Hormones in Beer
Beer contains female hormones Last month, Oxfford University of science released the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer. Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption. The theory is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain phytoestrogens) and that by drinking enough beer, men will turn into women. To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour period. It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects: 1) argued over nothing. 2) refused to apologize when obviously wrong. 3) Gained weight. 4) Talked excessively without making sense. 5) Became overly emotional. 6) Couldn't drive. 7) Failed to think rationally 8) Had to sit down while urinating. No further testing was considered necessary.
