  1. Out of interest, did you have the plastic splash shield there in front of the filler pipe?
  2. Just looked at your resto ..my god ,was that parked in the northsea! That should be made a sticky just for rust reference alone. Top work , fantastic job!
  3. mine are solid i think, maybe i`ve forgotten about the vent there. I know the inner skin is solid uk 91
  4. wow , mine don`t look like that. What year is this car?
  5. If you`re talking about the rear quarters where the bumper attaches i`m pretty sure there is no drain hole ..but they do rust. You can buy the section as a repair panel from nissan. I had to weld mine as water had accumulated via dodgy light seals. All rust proofed now. A pic of the area would help..trust me i`ve had rust in every part of that area and i can point out what i know to keep an eye on.
  6. CLASS probably applies to most garages too.
  7. SO...it`s true..they really do think I`m a living God! I`ve screwed britain..These poor souls with their puppy dog eyes don`t stand a chance! Better tell Sam "CURRYS BACK ON THE MENU!"
  8. Do they start to fail, ie once ones gone they will ultimatly all fail? That`s the general opinion as to what I`ve been told, although not always the case. Does mean keeping a keener eye on them though.
  9. "So now the excess casting has been removed the screws were able to be removed easily, one tip get a real good fitting screw driver and use a small hammer to tap the screw driver when undoing the screws" I bought an impact screwdiver for this job, great tool, no screw damage what so ever. Give it a whack with a rubber mallet and it undoes the most awkward of screws! Cheap too.
  10. Slick pete for all your fancy dress .Costumer lol
  11. I`ve got that with an exedy clutch and it`s been fine.
  12. think it also kicks in if one of the temp sensors is dodgy. First thing i would change would be both sensors on the water pipes for new and the fuel temp sensor on the fuel rail as any of these going wrong or getting naff signals due to connections will cause all sorts of running issues.
  13. [ - oh by the way cut all my knuckles and my elbow just doing the plugs this cars gonna hurt me lots ;-) now you`re an offical owner!
  14. wow..I feel very..thanked. may I thank you all in return. Thanks.
  15. It is obvious it has an orange surround. I know nothing abut mr2s but def. red and orange. He sounds like a numpty.
  16. Yep they just want to put you off. If it`s proven that the flooding is a DIRECT result of something they are responsible for , it`s their fault. Simple. They are (NO PUN INTENDED) trying to muddy the waters. As they say when having an accident ..never admit liability. They`ll probably pay up as an ahem gesture of good will.
  17. Are you absolutely sure it is the rubbers that have gone? i.e split/shrunk as it`s usually the targas causing the leak. A few people myself included have been having issues with water ingress lately. See if you can see any rust under the lip of the targa top. This is a pretty good indicator that the seals and inner seals of the targas are past their best , with the only option to rebuild or replace. The other likely spot is where the A pillar seal you mentioned joins at the corners, usually needs resealing with rtv or, as i`ve found to be even better sikalastomer 710 buytl sealant. Good luck.
  18. Make sure you get the parts from a known trader such as mjp or 2nd hand and new from zed world. Motorfactors are not the best places to try, they ain`t got a clue. Uk`s differ in several ways to japs as I have found over the years. Welcome, at least your car is red..will disguise the blood!
  19. no taste more like
  20. My point exactly... wouldn't want soggy doo dahs to become a permanent feature
