  1. Still not done much, lost my job so bloody skint lol...but its given me some spare time to do some bits to the zed.... all I really been able to do is re tape the looms cause they was dirty and had overspray etc on them. anthony oobumblebeoo got all the turbo pipes in engine bay shot blasted and sprayed gloss black.... Need to get new bolts for tops of shocks but had to use old ones for the minute I know they look crap. bro in law should be spraying the rest very soon. some pics Loom before I re taped it and loom with tape
  2. Done for u mate, but used misses phone so voted so says stacie mitchell lol..
  3. I can get the welds ok but its the grinding that gets me i try to grind it to flush. Think it all depends on the finish u want, if u want invisible repairs then u need someone who restores cars, I done a gto at work the other day failed its mot so I just welded a patch over it, ground it a tiny bit and stone chipped it. Which is all he wanted and got it through its mot, but to me it wasn't done properly. Some people can do it easy Im crap lol, im a mechanic, bodywork I just take forever and mess up.
  4. Hi mate, I tried welding my old shell and I ended up scraping it. And im now in the middle of putting all my bits on a new shell. I can weld pretty good, just not old cars lol, and then if your fussy like me and want it to look like its not welded. I ground the welds to much and then had to cut it out and put a bigger patch in. I spent the whole winter doing this to scrap it. I hope u sort it mate but welding is a pain in the f@#king a@#e... U can pick a rust free shell up for couple hundred quid, take a torch and look in rear quarters, sills etc and find one with no rust... The one I have theres no rust, not even surface rust in rear quarters and cost me couple hundred. Once they start rusting unless u cut them to bits the way I see it there just gonna keep rusting.. Trust me to put a downer on it but after 6months of welding and grinding, burns everywhere I for one wont be doing it again lol....
  5. Sorry mate video dont work
  6. Hurry up and get your chip, it runs...... Never done a video so hope it works.
  7. Cheers guys ill have a go or when it goes for respray I have a spare rear screen/tailgate I will swap it over...
  8. They did mess it up quite a few times but its quite good now... I went to leigh on sea and theres some grass slopes just before the huts on the beach... see an adder and grabbed it ended up in southend hospital for the night, My arm swelled up and turned black and blue lol. I live near sheerness now so im opposite u on that little island. U in the car trade too then.
  9. I got it done near to where I live ..but took about 3 times to get it looking half decent, good thing is they kept building up the powdercoat so now it has no casting marks its smooth lol. I dont no if there dreams or nightmares. where bouts in essex are u, I work in Dagenham.
  10. It will get there 1day, but your right if I had all the stuff and money here to build it id rush it together. so im taking my time with each bit and only moving on when I know im 100% happy. should be a nice car once done...it bloody better be lol...
  11. Im glad I kept at it, only thing is I want to hear the bugger start like yesterday, and work is slow and need respray and engine machine work money to finish it lol....
  12. Nice mint steering wheel Newer swade type panels
  13. Candy blue powder coated plenum, sprayed balance bar My wheels 18 by 9.5 and 18 by 8.5... Hoping they should look good on an artic white z with black roof bars
  14. Heres some bits I've bought waiting to be fitted, looks like a zed is slowly moving into my bedroom... Starting to get a big pile lol Brand new 99spec bumper Gt2560 turbos Weisco pistons 88mm Eagle rods Denso 850cc injectors 5bolt down pipes
  15. Well again not done much, I have original version r side skirts and to fit them properly they have panel clips all along the sill, I was really worrying about marking where and drilling the holes but it seemed to go ok, measuring and marking exact posistions is not my strong point lol... so now the skirt will fit up to the sill perfect and not need glue,
  16. Sorry to jump in but my tailgate glass is purple, was gonna change the whole glass, Was wondering if the tint is removable, will it damage the heated rear screen. how did u guys remove it...any tips lol...
  17. Thats what I had before I got my zed a prelude, I had an import 2.2vtec, I could break it the bugger went forever. drove it to benidorm in spain and back when I 1st bought it without even checking the oil. I loved it....
  18. That is the only problem doing it quickly, I was giving up garage so had to either build it or leave it there cause had nowhere else to park half built cars. it went together ok, but rushed to get engine in and scratched new paint in places, im now building another one cause want to do the same and not scratch everything up and want to satin black all the original bits in engine bay etc. so is better to take longer do it once and do it right...
  19. heres a pic of the shell when I did it, and changed engine and everything in the engine bay over,
  20. I bought a shell stripped it to literally nothing did the filler work and painted it artic white, then stripped my uk car and put everything on the new shell, That was including every panel, the dash and all looms, all interior etc. I had a unit to do it in, bro in law done the bodywork, and I done the rest a couple of friends came doen here and there to help. I didnt rebuild the engine, or retrim interior and took me about a week. if u have somewhere to do it, and a company re trimming interior I reckon it could be done...
  21. I've always made something up that goes where the maf is, never had any problems thst way. test it all in one go....
  22. Yeah mate shell is really clean, only bit of rust on it was under battery tray, Welded the holes up, and all good now. Can't find a single bit of rust anywhere else even with a torch inside rear quarters and sills. looks like this one is gonna get finished lol. thanks stu....
  23. Started sorting some bits out tonight, cleaned up the headlights and sprayed the little black brackets that hold the rubbers to the lights satin black. fitted them, had to bend the little brackets underneath the lights to make them sit right, So many zeds seem to have wonky head lights and the nose panel lol. Little bit of bending here and there and they look so much better. Also got the servo and master cylinder back on... Found all the pipes for turbos/intercoolers bro in law going to paint them black. Im having a crap time at work at the moment, need a few full weeks so I can get my gasket set and bearings, and then the engine is done... Anyway heres a couple of pics sorry there boring and not done much
