hey guys. i'm even a bit stuck trying to do an autobox diagnostic :slap: i try and try the sequence but dont get any flashes and am starting to lose my temper! lol. a couple of stupid questions: a) it asks you to put the gear in D (while engine off) then turn engine on. naturally it doesnt fire up cos youre in D. is it supposed to just give you the lights and not fire up? b) i have a turbo timer which naturally keeps the engine running when the part of the sequence tells you to turn engine off. i turn the key and reduce the timer to 0 straight away to kill the engine, but will this upset doing the sequence? c) oh, and which light flashes at you anyways?

i was going to say: there must be a catch!!! (the whole 2.0 or below thing kind of ruins it)

the rumour is 15psi although some have claimed 16. depends how you drive it. just get a tubby timer first! :D

HOLD will skip first gear and pull off in second, great for traction in the wet (or if youre low on petrol and want to save your revvs! ;) )

Hi buddy. Come and join the knackered-autobox club "The K.A.C." :( The ALC2 is an aftermarket autobox oil pressure controller made by HKS. A few of us have this installed in our cars and someone suggested that it might be misbehaving and to disconnect it to see if it improves the situation. You'll know if you've got one by checking the ecu area behind the passenger footwell (the series 2 ALC is a black box which is usually visible from inside the car anyways) when your Z is revving right up to 6000 before changing up, do you notice a significant loss in accelleration, as if the clutch was half-in in a manual?

ok it looks like we have 3 or 4 autoboxes with the exact same symptoms in the last couple of weeks. coincindence? has anyone bought anything from a GB or has some trend gone round that could have started this off??? not saying anything against them (yet) but HKS ALC2? ApexI Super-AFC2? there's been a bit of talk about them over the last month or so.
