Autobox problem - OH NO!
aaarrrgggh! :( not had a chance to ring Michael yet mate as been working late shifts but should have time soon. i tried a diagnostic yesterday (only had a chance to try it once due to time) which didnt work. then i realised that half-way through you're asked to put it in D (with the push-release) with the engine off, then turn the engine ON. surely it wont start when in D or does this not matter? :slap: After your last thread Mark im hoping its something electrical like the solenoids as like i said the first two gears when used manually (and also in D but i avoid it now!) still work great. thank God I only work 5 mins drive away!

Speed difference between NA & Turbo Models
Hi Michael, Rougly, a manual NA will be about 7.1, whereas an auto TT will be about 5.9. Reliability-wise, a manual will be better than an auto, seeing as there seem to be so many autobox problems (especially imports) of late (me included :( ) I think it's up to the ECU as to what RON petrol the car takes - there are ECUs out there that claim they are better set up for UK fuel, but tbh i dont think there's been any problems regarding putting standard unleaded into an import (me included again :) ). However optimax seems to have everyone's vote :D If you're being cautious, go for an NA. If you want crazy power, go for a TT!

Gt4!
I guess I'm not the only one weeing himself waiting for this game to be released. It's just been officially announced that there will be at least 650 cars in the finished game   However online play has been discontinued, until they try to release a special online version next year (doesnt bother me tho) Release date (at the moment) is Dec 14th.

Fuse question
Hi, just a simple/thick question. In the fuse box down by the accellerator pedal, is there supposed to be a fuse in every single slot, as i have about 8 missing  Would anyone have a link to a fuse box diagram (pref. not in japanese like the one on my car  )

Autobox problem - OH NO!
many thanks for the offer Mark. will give your bruv a buzz later hopefully. just another quick question for everyone: with my current autobox problem, is it still safe to drive in '1' and '2' as they seem to be fine (in fact they still scare the crap out of me!!!)?

Metalic shearing noise
just to throw another idea into the hat - i had a similar problem with my cav gsi (yeah not exactly a Z i know) and it turned out that a mudguard around the top/back of the disc had rusted, bent, and was scraping off the brake disc surface

Autobox problem - OH NO!
Hi guys. Thanks for the posts - i just got back from a weekend in manchester. Well, the fluid dipstick reads over-full when cold (almost up to the wire!), but yet it's hardly on the dip at all when the engine is running (about 10 mins drive) - it doesnt even cover the letter 'H' of hot! I just noticed this evening that from cold, it almost seems to get into 3rd gear (although im driving very carefully!!!) but after a couple of mins when the engine's warmer, it's lost altogether and starts to rev high in 2nd again and loses torque. Still not had time to do an auto-diagnostic yet ive been that darn busy (and working hard to save up for a probable rebuild/conversion  )

Forum idea
oh yeah, heh heh  didnt see that. i just thought that threads that people have started regarding entertainment seem to last quite a few pages, so if we can promote that it cant be a bad thing. however there should be very strict rules about exactly what sort of "entertainment" can be posted on there :x:

Stalling when slowing down ?
Chris i found that loosening them actually reduced the problem slightly - ie. dumped under less pressure and less aggressively and led to less drop in revs after dump (!?!?) I'll try tightening them but my money is on a very loud TISH ( :hyper: ) and dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree

Forum idea
How about a forum where we can talk about games/films/etc we've seen/played. I thought in light of all the threads and discussion about films, Shaun of the Dead, Burnout 3, etc. it would be good if people could post all about them here. Just an idea...

Safc
Was on for nearly an hour. The guys had spent a couple of hours beforehand fitting the AFC2 and an RSM.

Stalling when slowing down ?
hi Rob this problem is old news to me. happened as soon as i fitted my apexis at the recircs. the more i rev the engine, the quicker the revs drop and more likely to stall. i believe in the over-fuelling problem more than the others. i even fitted an apexi SAFC2 but it didnt make a blind bit of difference   the only advice i can give is that when the car dumps, i tap the throttle a couple of times (in either D or N) and it pulls the revs back to idle.

Safc
i have an safc2 in mine which THOR set up for me. i only gained 10 bhp but the guys said the fuelling was very good beforehand anyway. i have got standard fuelling tho. someone else said they gained up to 60bhp!!! :)

Autobox problem - OH NO!
Hi guys, It looks like its my turn to get the curse   Over the last 24 hours the autobox started playing up. I noticed it began to rev higher than usual before changing up, and now it doesnt go any higher than 2nd. :( Oddly enough when I select '2' it seems to give normal pulling power, but when in 'D' it revs high and doesnt give me much movement (as if the clutch was half pressed in on a manual) I noticed the oil pressure gauge was running higher than usual when the box was running into difficulties (over 4kg when it's normally 2 or 3) Ive searched the forum and found a couple of things to check but am not sure about how to check the autobox fluid level? I've had an ALC2 for a couple of months but that seems to have been behaving itself. I've not done an autobox self-check yet :slap: Any help would be greatly appreciated
