  1. ^ exactly what I was thinking!
  2. I might pop up to Donnington and join in as well if there's space :D
  3. maybe drinking too much tea is the problem - try changing to a decaf tea or something like red bush. try and get a massage off the missus before you try to get to sleep (or maybe that's what's keeping you up :x: )
  4. cut out all caffeine, get more exercise, drink hot chocolate or warm milk before going to bed, with a wee dram of whisky stirred in. if you can't get to sleep, turn the light on and read until you're more tired, otherwise you get more and more frustrated and find it harder to get to sleep. put on some soothing music at a low volume - whatever takes your fancy be it whale song, a bit of LTJ Bukem, etc. ^ this is what I do when I'm feeling short on energy
  5. so sorry to hear mate. RIP :(
  6. I know exactly how you feel mate, since the day I was born we've always had dogs in the family and sadly had to see them go. It's important that you remember the good life you gave Sasha and remember the good times. Everything and everyone has to die at some time in life - it's going to be one hell of a party when you meet up on the other side! :)
  7. 280bhp from a (standard?) non-turbo VG30DE?!
  8. I bet you couldn't tell what colour it was? If it was dark grey then as Bolt says it could be running a little rich to protect the engine under boost. If it was blue then a little oil could be making its way into the system somewhere. Mine gives a brief puff of blue smoke sometimes - I try not to worry about it - just put a drop more in when I get home :D
  9. interesting development - I decided to take her out to fill up with petrol [holy crap its been off the road for 3 months during which time we've both been sulking and ignoring eachother lol] - took her off maintenance, started her up and eased her out of the driveway. got to the petrol station with no probs. after starting her up again it turned over a dozen times before firing up which is a first, but no probs after that. [i put this down to the car not having been run for so long] anyways as the voltage seemed to be fairly stable at 13.6ish I decided to warm her up a bit and go for a gentle blast. waiting at some lights I noticed the rear windows were demisting by themselves. I'd not turned them on, and the light on the pod was off. I pressed the button, it beeped, and the voltage jumped about 0.2-0.3v to 13.8/13.9. Pressed again and it dropped back down to 13.6v. No light came on on the button when up until now it's always come on when pressed (I've got the blue/red LED pod conversion) Got her back onto the driveway and decided to leave her off charge to see what happens overnight. The following day - 13v in the battery. The day after, a little under 13v. The day after, about 12.5v!!! With the above problem it would have died overnight to the point that the doors wouldn't unlock themselves! So it seems that somehow there's been a failure at some point between the demister button and the element (or whatever you call it!) but while it's been standing on the drive the window has not been demisting. Can anyone think of any possible cause? To try and prove this point I'm going to leave her on charge tomorrow night to make sure the battery is full, then take off charge, press the demister again and see if the battery dies the night after that.
  10. if the Z continues to behave herself then I'll be there! :)
  11. I love the look of the good old Datsuns especially the 240 and 260
  12. sorry to see that mate - world would be a much better place without these scrotes
  13. Congratulations Jeff and Lynda!! :hyper: :hyper:
  14. looking good mate - ripping the old leather off your seats and the tweed off the panels and replacing with colour-coded leather/vinyl/alcantara/hide/whatever totally revamps the interior of a Z!
  15. you'll find plenty of porn - just look at people's signatures ;) welcome along

  19. yeah it went off like a bomb, then both the rally cars caught fire! (deliberately of course!) there's no end to what them lads can come up with
  20. Awesome day - really enjoyed it. Some interesting stands before the event where you can buy things, have a go at racing games, etc. Which times were your events Dewi? I was at the 12:00 performance and 3:00 track display. The live performance was great - the three presenters turned up on a drivable section of studio with their chairs and the engine block table stand  followed by stunt bike displays, car bowling, chariot racing etc. The track event was cool also, featuring Tiff Needell, the Stig, the lovely Sabine Schmitz (Queen of Nurburgring), Lewis Hamilton's brother and the sons of various motorsports celebrities like Martin Brundell were go-kart racing. Drifting, drag racing, Class B rally cars - thoroughly enjoyable day and I'm totally exhausted!!
  21. I guess that setup would sorely need a set of forged pistons! a larger radiator wouldn't hurt either.
  22. It's great to hear of progress being made in building bridges between the two clubs. I've always found the, shall we call it, 'great divide' topic to be depressing and hopefully sometime in the near future it'll all be behind and we can enjoy shared meets/club shops/banter/etc.
  23. I'm there midday this Saturday!!! :hyper: It's my first time going so I'm really looking forward to it!
  24. Great news!!! Thanks guys
