  1. Congratulations Gary!
  2. Gain's only set at 17. This behaviour only happens now and again, normally the boost is fine - in fact I should be able to up it to 20ish perhaps a tad more. However saying that I was driving home this afternoon and a pipe's worked its way off - loud whooshing and hardly any boost. Third pipe along going into throttle body isn't on properly so I'll get my screwdriver out tomorrow and reseat it. Hopefully this will explain the weird graph!
  3. I've been playing with the graphing functions of this unit over the past few weeks and normally one good boost in gear looks like the left-hand side (when graphing boost), but more and more recently I've noticed sometimes when I'm belting it that the boost graph looks like it does on the right of the picture - performance is slightly but noticeably reduced while boost is scattered like this. I think it normally does it when the wheels are spinning (i.e. in 1st or 2nd), but could it be a sign of a slipping clutch or something else? It tends to do it in third gear mainly. If this happens, I back off and then reapply throttle and all is well again for the next few goes. Anyone know what would cause this? I've been running an RPS Street Sport clutch for a few thousand miles without any noticeable problems, and I can't smell any telltale smells of clutch, although perhaps a faint whiff sometimes (hard to tell with so many old and hot bits of engine in front of you!).
  4. RIP Donna Summer :(
  5. lol it was all accurate up to 6:40 when they reach the non-turbo'd car question, then it got a little tongue-in-cheek  great vid though!
  6. have you tried writing a letter to them explaining your situation in detail, and that you have started work and wish your out of work benefits to be stopped, and that you have contacted the helpline and nothing's been done? keep a copy and send the original RECORDED delivery and keep the receipt!
  7. shatt it meduck! :D
  8. hmm not quite my cup of tea - as said above it sounds like there's a hole in the exhaust or a loose pipe somewhere! plus you can't hear the whistle of the turbo's on full chat - for me that's what it's all about. just my 2p :D
  9. thanks for posting that Paul, that's a relief! It's just the smoked indicators and HIDs I need to worry about now!
  10. wow - silky smooth mate!!
  11. holy guacamole! the two chaps in the bottom corner don't know which way to run. hope everyone ended up ok!
  12. :thumbup1::shifty::tongue_smilie:
  13. Yeah I noticed some of the HP figures are a little high (unless they're US HP figures in which case that would explain it). Going by that list mine should be well over 500 but I know that's not right!
  14. Happy Birthday John!
  15. all I'd say is, good quality of work on the front. everything else (and I mean everything)...nil point.
  16. Congratulations on your purchase mate - the 'Z grin' should be trademarked! :D I'm expecting my next one once the N/A Diff is installed!
  17. when my VVT springs went it sounded like an old diesel around 2-3k revs but not below or above that range.
  18. a local in-car entertainment place inspected my alarm and provided a certificate. I think it was about £35, but this was about 4 years ago.
  19. cheers mate :D
  20. Welcome to the club Ryan. ^ as Richard says, the engine will be happier warming up under load. if you're only 'pottering' to work then you won't need a turbo timer either. Their main purpose is to allow the engine to continue to run and oil to be circulated around the turbos once you leave the car until they've stopped spinning. I think a lot of people prefer to stay off boost for the last few mins or so of their journey than use the timer.
  21. Oh man - I saw these photos yesterday on FB :( gutted for you mate. Is there much mechanical damage? Did the other car stop?
  22. Easy win: £800 to import a stock steering wheel from Japan. Yes, that's eight hundred, from the Nissan dealership near the old Foxes ground here in Leicester. I was tempted to buy two or three at that price lol, but Mr. F sorted one for me for £50. This was about nine years ago.
