  1. I'll be there tomorrow for an N/A Diff fitment, MOT and a couple of tweaks
  2. congratulations Dave!
  3. The T-piece in question being the large black T-shaped pipe that site above your air filter and divides the incoming air towards the turbos on either side. I think the gains would generally be in proportion to your current bhp - the lower the horsepower, the less benefit you'll get from it. I think the general feeling is that stock intake (i.e. a decent aftermarket filter off the single standard MAF) is good for 500bhp, but then starts to become a limitation as you push for higher power. Although I'm not quite pushing 500 (more like early 400s at a guess) I think I would gain a few ponies with this system, as well as the suggested quicker throttle response.
  4. f***s sake not this again. But positively and back on topic: Glad you got your windscreen sorted Tony and at a seriously low price - I managed to get a crack in mine a couple of years ago and settled for the blue tint as it suited the paintwork, and I was gobsmacked at how easily the insurers picked this up! Shame the targas are bronze but hey, bigger things to worry about!
  5. Those of you with this kit already installed - do you have the filters arranged like Andrew's photo (that is, with the 90 degree elbows and the filters pointing towards the front of the car) or have any of you tried to fit the MAF and filter directly to the pipes either side of the picture so that the filters are facing eachother and without the 90 degree elbows? I guess this way they'd either not quite fit, or they wouldn't get optimal air coverage as half the filter is pointing in towards the car...
  6. Thanks for the write-up Andy, I found the Greg Dupree comments quite an interesting read, with some surprising gains to be found even for relatively stock Zs. Something that's got me thinking (and saving!)... Baz you have PM :)
  7. Happy Birthday mate!
  8. I've just been browsing Z1 and came across this: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=3986 I used to run a twin filter setup, though the single MAF, but it idled quite roughly, although after doing some research there's mention of fitting an idle assist that balances the air out across the two sides of the engine to avoid lumpy idling. However this setup looks quite good - the ECU doesn't need mapping like it does with some other twin solutions, and the description claims it's pretty much plug-and-play, and also easily reversible. Anyone running one? I noticed (adl) phoenix started a thread recently about where to buy one.
  9. I've never heard of an EBC glitching and blowing up someone's engine before (at least not on this forum!) - I've been running one for years without a problem and I'm sure plenty of others on here have done as well. As long as it's set up correctly of course!
  10. I remember Ya5een's cherry red Z well - it was a lovely motor, shame it ended up how it did.
  11. Yeah I'm running Z1s - it still pulls fine but seems a little more laggy when the weather's really hot.
  12. this last week I've been driving to work with the roofs off - never done that before! mind you the poor old turbos are struggling to chew up the hot air when you give it some beans :(
  13. ^ this is exactly what I've been noticing these last few days. The running temp's been fine while driving normally, but when I get stuck for a couple of minutes or more, the temp gradually creeps up (the highest it got was 194F), but within 20 seconds of driving again, the temp drops right down to a cool 170. :) Perhaps the suggestion that it would be useful to lower the temp at which the backup electric fan comes on is worth pursuing...
  14. Happy Birthday mate - lovely weather for it!
  15. When I was deciding on bodykits I almost went for that Z-Centre quad conversion, but IMO the front of the car would have lost its character and become more of a generic modified import than a Z. Deffo go for HIDs though - they're much better than the stock candles.
  16. Welcome to the club Karen
  17. wahey - I saw it again this afternoon and for the first time I was in the Z! Hopefully he'll join and I won't be talking to myself in this thread any more, lol!
  18. even though it may not be 100% a good idea, at least they've turned around and given something back - normally it's tighten up on this or up the charges on that, so fair do's on that.
  19. I thought if I posted often enough he might magically appear and subscribe :D
  20. you can add a URL around your sig pic so people can click through to your rides section like you could with the old forum software.
  21. I think it was the same one again yesterday cruising along Welford Road towards Wigston. I was just reseating my boost pipes and thought I'd jump in and catch up with you but she needed a damn good wash first :o
  22. too late now, but when I was removing my interior for the trim, I took every screw / washer / whatever and sellotaped it to a piece of A4 and wrote next to it where it came from as I removed it. I kept one piece of A4 for each door, the centre console, the glovebox, etc. so I knew which bits belonged where when I put it all back together.
  23. I wouldn't be a happy bunny if someone pulled that one on me!
