  3. I had a black one many years ago, actually quite a nice drive, felt sporty but solid. The first in a long long line of Volvos, good for ferrying the kids about in safety.
  4. Golf GTi for slumming it and Volvo S60 when I want to be posh. oh and GSXR for when I am late.
  5. BTW I cant see it on your engine, sorry.
  6. Read this Vini, could it be the problem? http://home.comcast.net/~donwillson/index.html
  7. Sorry Vini we seem to have drifted off on one :D its an idle air valve / air idle control valve made by Vauxhall, take it off some carb cleaner and a shake and its all worky pooos again. Joint effort by me and hellraiser and if you give us a pic hopefully we can show you where it is.
  8. See I told you it was a Vauxhall part :D just on a Volvo they like to give it a grander (does that word exist?) name
  9. its all in the wording :p one does like to be accurate you know.
  10. Air idle control valve, its usually on the front of the engine under a black plastic cover and is actually a Vauxhall part hence a common problem, if Volvo made their own it wouldnt play up. :D
  11. I know what causes surging on a Volvo, its a common problem, let me just rack my brain to remember what its called. I cured mine by cleaning out the valve with carb cleaner, its on the front of the engine from memory, dont suppose you have a picture of your Volvo engine bay do you?

  17. Deffo a cam belt, needs to be changed every 60k miles.
  18. Easy mistake, unless someone tells you then who who think you would check the level with the engine running?
  19. Correct, no mention of what happened to the driver in the thread but like you all said I doubt it was good news.
  20. Try checking the oil with the engine running like stated in earlier posts, it may be low. :D
  21. Apparently car was doing 150 when it hit the lorry head on
  22. Happy Birthday matey. :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:
  23. I have Tanabe Sustec TBZ32 coilovers, from America lowers the car about an inch and firms up the ride. I only have the standard suspension to compare with and it is an improvement in my opinion.
