Brakes, or lack off...
Many people go for the Brembo calipers from a Skyline as an upgrade but if you get the standard calipers rebuilt properly with good discs and pads they are actually pretty good. I would also recommend a fluid change to start with as you mentioned the pedal travelled to the floor. See what that does as its the cheapest starting point but may be the master cylinder or something thats packed up / leaking.

Things to be done to an import
I would guess they are talking about the flap in the filler neck that lets fuel go down but not back up, not heard that mentioned before.

Things to be done to an import
I guess a really good service is gonna set you back the best part of £300, the fog light should be done by them for the MOT, if its not then its a good indication of wether the tester actually saw the car. Its a manual so no auto box cooler needed.

Get it properly serviced by someone that knows the zed well, theres a few places on here that can do it, probably a full 60k service is best, even if they said its been done its doubtful they did more than an oil change with the wrong oil.

NSF Steering gaitor
Yes mate, if you count the number of turns off and then on and use the same track rod end then it will be fine.

NSF Steering gaitor
I think Partco will do the glue together ones as well but its probably just as easy to fit the right one straight away, jack it up, remove wheel, undo track rod end, count turns off, remove old one, fit new one, count same amount of turns on and bolt up track rod end refit wheel. Slightest bit of dirt on the stick together ones and they dont glue together, and if they do they dont last long.

NSF Steering gaitor
Had to do mine for the MOT this year, I got it from Partco, they had it on the shelf, less than a tenner for the pair.

Its my second year with them now, I really dont think they can be beaten on price, never had to claim though so cant comment on what they would be like at paying out.

Carole Nash are becoming very popular on here for Zed owners on classic insurance, mine was low £200 I think.
