  1. Its possible, I would spend some money and replace hoses cap flush the system etc, maybe even a new water pump as these cars run hot and rely on a good cooling system.
  2. Its all easily replaceable but I would imagine expensive, might be worth asking AndyZ if he has a good second hand set or maybe one of the other traders can get them new cheaper.
  3. theres a complany called MAL plates that I used for some for me bike recently, check the website for more info http://www.malplates.co.uk
  4. Hi, if you decide to sell the clear side repeaters I would be interested, let me know, thanks, Richard.
  5. Hi all, my 1990 N/A has developed a fault where when overdrive is switched on and I am cruising along, if I lift off the gas the revs go down to an idle almost immediately, then if I accelerate again the revs build back up to normal, this doesnt happen with the overdrive off, any ideas? I have spoke to Raydetinu who had a similar fault so I am pretty sure it is electrical but anyone else know of, or experienced this that could give me some more info to work on? thanks, Richard.
  6. Been through this with a previous employer and unless he can prove you were the driver at that particular time you cannot be done for it and the police will have to chase the employer to prove who it was, mind you that was a few years ago and maybe things have changed.
  7. Had the same problem and changing the PCV valves sorted it for me and reduced the amount of smoke coming from the exhaust considerably.
  8. There is no reason I can see that you cant buy the Zcentre oil cooler and fit it to your autobox.
  9. Hi, I used http://www.greenline.jp and they offered a very good sevice and price for parts the only thing was the carriage charge was a little bit steep in my opinion but still a good saving, still havent seen you driving round sunny Ipswich, and your right the local main dealer doesnt seem to know or be interested in imports so I have given up on them.
  10. Hi, had a lot of trouble trying to find some centre caps for racing sparco wheels that are only available from Japan, eventually found http://www.greenline.jp were able to help, but its not cheap due to shipping from Japan, I tried just about everyone I could think of in the UK but no one was interested in fact most had never heard of racing sparco.
  11. I had mine MOTd without the plates the once it was registered I went back to them and they put the registration mark on, I did question a few people about driving from the port without plates to an MOT station and recieved different answers, some said its ok to drive it from the port to an MOT station, others said if the Police see you without plates they are sure to pull you and technically even if you sort out insurance before you leave you will not be covered for driving a car without MOT on the public highway so you will be breaking the law, I chose to trailer because Im Mr Unlucky that gets caught for everything,
  12. Hi, I have recently imported a 300zx from Japan, for the MOT all that I needed to do was fit a rear fog light, it passed with the speedo still in km and tyres but maybe I was just lucky and they didnt notice, you need the de registration paperwork from Japan to prove ownership and register it in the UK along with an MOT and insurance certificate, it should all be done before you drive the car from the Port or do what I did, trailer it from the Port and do it all later, if you want to ship it in a container bring it through Felixstowe and I will make sure its looked after till you collect it but its a lot cheaper to ship it on a roll on roll off ship which is what i went for. Hope it helps, Richard.
  13. someone has way too much spare time, lol, looks good though, whens the sequel out?
  14. Sperex do a high temperature engine block enamel, but you will have to look on the tin as to how high temp, really need something endorsed by NASA to take the heat of our engines, doubt it would be any good on the belt cover but should be ok for the balance bar.
  15. It was getting a bit dark so I could not see too many details but it was a grey Z with round rear light conversion, if you read this you sounded awesome as you went past me in the wifes Volvo. How come I never see anyone when im in my Z. :D
  16. Recieved the keys and Im well chuffed with them thanks, as for the valet key, when I had mine cut the man behind the counter said something about you have to be careful doing them as the profile is different and he wouldnt give me a guarentee it would work after he has done it, but fortunately it does, thanks for sorting this out and ordering them in for us mate.
  17. I have read stories of people seeing, or thinking they saw something because another person wanted them to see it if you know what I mean, kind of enforced hypnotism and I do believe that to be another possible explanation for what I encounted, but, bloody seemed real enough to stop me ever go back in there.
  18. ok, in a room with my girlfriend when I did something to upset this "ghost" or whatever you call them, first phone in corner of room starts ringing constantly not usual ring ring if you know what I mean, then an ornament next to phone is hurled at me, when a green looking haze starts appearing we exit quickly, now I sound like a complete freak lol, Mac, if your interested in the full story I will pm it to you, not sure I want it all on here.
  19. Try bodyline sealer and adhesive cleaner, its designed specifically for this purpose, available from Brown Brothers and Partco, I think if you use cellulose thinners you would need to be extremely careful.
  20. Never believed in them till I upset one, still scares the **** out of me to think about it.
  21. Think you should have taken a saw to it straight away but im an old git ... sorry
  22. Hi, does anyone know how to remove the exterior trim on the door with the rubber seal that goes against the windows? do I have to get the mirror off? if I do, the black trim inside with the nuts that hold the mirror on, does it just pull off or does it have to be pulled up? I dont want to break anything ..
  23. mmmm, name rings a bell?????? lol
  24. I think this goes back to when bodyshops used cellulose paint which took a few weeks to harden throughly, but with modern paints like 2k etc (which I would think most decent bodyshops use now) that use an activator to harden and then dried in an oven there should be no problem with a wax, should be no need to use a cutting compound tho and I wouldnt as you may ruin the work thats been done.
  25. Would just like to say thanks to you, insured with you in January brilliant price and service.
