Paint Dilemma
That true, if you do them smooth and regret it then its a lot cheaper to have them stonechipped as u can go over the top of the paint, but if its stonechipped and u want to go back to smooth .. MEGABUCKS.

Paint Dilemma
Personally I think it needs to be smooth, I have never seen skirts painted with the textured paint, I would have them painted smooth and maybe go back later to have the rest smoothed out, but I agree it will look odd if you look at the door and as you work your way down it will go to textured paint then go back to smooth. I think Mr Visa would have to thrown at the paint shop in my case as she has already taken a chunk out of my bank account and there is loads more I want to do, Ive just got to learn to be patient I guess.

Does my Jap NA auto need an extra cooler
Cost me £100 but I believe the Zcentre does one for about £110 plus vat which would be suitable, to be fitted I guess you would be looking about £250 parts and labour, depends who you go to, trying to find someone that knows the 300 and you can trust to work on it is the hardest part tho, my particular car didnt have a seperate engine or an autobox oil cooler (i think this is right for the N/A autobox cooling is done thru the radiator and this gets blocked stopping the flow of oil) so I fitted an autobox cooler as all you really need to do is undo the pipes going into the rad and plumb them into the oil cooler and will fit an engine oil cooler later as I figured the autobox one was more important, if you need anymore details let me know.

Does my Jap NA auto need an extra cooler
fitted one to my N/A as I have read so much about the autobox being the weakest link and saying "goodbye", I guess if your not doing many long runs it might be fine, but cost me £100 and really is a doddle to fit so I decided it was the best thing to do.

Mcguard?
I believe they cover most applications, and if Mcgard list them, Halfords can get them, Mcgard were very helpful for me recently on an application for a 300zx with aftermarker wheels and Halfords ordered them in for me and arrived withing 4 days direct from Germany, and at no extra charge so I was very impressed, Richard.

How do i get to the dials?
I think if the speedo is out you will be very lucky to get it right as you will be adjusting it hit and miss, I know because I tried it on a Mercedes with no joy and a wasted day.

Odometer problem
If the cluster is a UK one it will have a boost guage as all UK ones were turbo models, a conversion will change the signal the cluster recieves and make the speedo and odometer read in miles.
-
cutting out at 130mph in top
I believe they are still limited by the ecu as well so that needs playing with from what ive read before, before you can get the full top end.
-
Odometer problem
I think if you just unscrew this one out and put it in your cluster it will work fine without affecting the conversion but you might want to get someone else to confirm this first, really want to see the whole cluster not just the odometer if thats ok but at least you will have the rest in case you need it.

Odometer problem
This one is in very good clean condition, only the sort of scratches you would normally find on the clear plastic from being wiped with a cloth, I really dont know what its worth if I say £50 let me know if im overpricing it. From looking at this one I think you need to undo about 3 screws to swap the odometer over. Richard

Odometer problem
Hi, cant help you with your questions im afraid but if you find you need a new odometer I have a known good working cluster from a 91 na showing 69k kilometers, I know you only need an odometer but it may be cheaper to buy the whole cluster. Just thought I would make the offer. Richard.

throttle position sensor
Hello all, I have just taken some readings from my throttle position sensor and wondered if any of you could confirm wether my problem is the sensor itself or the wiring leading to it, going into the side I have white/red 0v green/red 11.9v and white/black 0v, coming from the bottom I have Black 0v white 0v red 0v and moving the sensor itself made no difference to any reading, car symptons are that when slowing down for corners it sometimes dies on me, the car itself is a 1990 n/a automatic, cheers Richard.

McGard Locking Wheel Nuts
Hi, I recently purchased some of the above for my 300zx but on the Racing Sparco wheels that are fitted to the car the hole is not big enough to accept them, do you think it would be possible to have one on each wheel machined out bigger or would this be dangerous? or do I just buy different wheels cos I wake up every morning expecting them to be missing without the locking nuts. Thanks, Richard
