  1. Hmm, should I mention joining the ERM? Maybe not LOL! If I thought there was a single party out there which would do everything right then they'd have my full support. My point is that you just have to go with whoever you believe to be best and for me, it's not the Tories, maybe some day it will be. We're a democratic society and the Poll tax went down with the majority like a lead balloon and for once the British public protested and won.
  2. Rover is a microcosm of what was British industry, remember that Rover was bought cheap when John Major was PM by BMW back in 1993 after being bought by BAe in 1988:- "BAe bought Rover from the U.K. government in 1988 for $222 million in a heavily subsidized sale. BAe promised not to sell Rover before September 1993. The sale was widely seen as a government ploy to get the company off its books without drawing political criticism for selling Rover to a foreign group. BAe had not been expected to keep Rover for the long term." Who was Prime Minister in 1988? Margaret F-ing Thatcher, sorry but I can't defend these people especially someone who needlessly ordered the sinking of the Belgrano in the Falklands war to raise her profile for the '83 election:- "The Belgrano sinking was the most controversial event of the Falklands War. Many people, both inside and outside the British Parliament said it was an unnecessary use of force - the ship was outside the exclusion zone and apparently sailing away from the Falklands." http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3165/is_n12_v29/ai_14859315 http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/may/2/newsid_2480000/2480241.stm
  3. We've been installing Firefox in work for about 7 months now and we get far less calls relating to browser issues now ;)
  4. I bet that hurt :D If you hit the OD switch during normal cruising do the revs vary? It may be electrical because my auto used to do this very occasionally and it turned out to be the switch itself.
  5. Speaking of farmers, http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1579491,00.html Brynle Williams, the farmer and haulier who led the stand-off at the Stanlow refinery in Cheshire that triggered the protests in 2000, is now a Conservative member of the Welsh Assembly. He has refused to support unlawful blockades.
  6. If you lent someone your cars ten years ago and they kept writing them off then you would hardly feel inclined to do the same today. The fact is that the demise of industry in this country affected and still affects us today. What once made Britain great sadly is no more and unfortunately we're just another European tax-funded Nation
  7. I'm from Preston too! Maybe it's sommat to do with supporting PNE LOL! :D
  8. Obviously you're unaware of the damage done to British industry under Baroness Thatcher. I'm not entirely happy with any of the parties' policies but I would never vote them in again.
  9. I'm glad to see that you share the same hatred for Anglesey farmers and as I do! Most of them are councillors in disguise and we know what they get up to around here. Remember all the corruption back in the early 90's - Shell Rhosgoch etc. I work with someone who is knows exactly how rich these fookers really are and we're talking millions.
  10. Some interesting stuff there! I was -1.0 left of centre.
  11. FFS - They should be hammered. :xxx:
  12. You're right about farmers, a) they always plead poverty and b) They do get large subsidies but I'm more concerned about the poor old lady down the street who can't afford heating oil and us not being able to fuel our Zeds
  13. Poor clutch! What had it done to him?
  14. I was listening to Radio Wales this afternoon and I heard there's a big meeting taking place tonight between Farmers, Hauliers and the likes to discuss action regarding rising fuel prices and taxation. I thought about this for a while and realised that their timing couldn't be better, if the Government don't back down this time then they'll lose the General Erection. :D They sounded really determined this time and said they would "Do what they do in France". The radio interviewer said "But don't you think you'll be very unpopular" to which the farmer replied "Why? everyone is against rising fuel costs". Let's hope it does happen but this time I hope they don't listen to made up stories about the emergency services being crippled - what a load of shite.
  15. I heard that too and he is against rock Chunk so you'd better get that Ghetto Blaster out!
  16. Peter Kay Derek & Clive Benny Hill John Cleese
  17. After hearing stories like this, I decided to e-mail the local rag. Not expecting to hear anymore I noticed my comment "Bring in Boot Camps" was the main headline this week  Many other people with similar views as expressed by you guys had their comments listed too. It's obvious that no-one is actually listening to our words or that the "do-gooders" of this world have far too much power and are fooking it up for those of us who know what these tw@ts need - a good hiding. Our local MP said "These people should be beaten to within an inch of their lives" - What a star :D
  18. No other Nation would put up with this. People used to kick off if bread went up by 1p in the 60s, now we just take whatever shite comes our way. The Government used the excuse that emergency services were crippled during the last blockade but that was a load of b0llocks which the organiser believed and so ended the first good demonstration which would have taught the tw@ts that we weren't gonna be walked all over. Last year I drove a V8 Jeep all over Florida for 2 weeks and it cost fook all to fill up. Over here you can barely afford the petrol for a run at the Pod!!
  19. This surprised me:- RC Engineering modified our stock injectors to flow 928cc without leaks. Cherrypicker provided the original information that convinced me to ditch the Haltech and pursue tuning the factory ECU. I'd like to know what they did to the stock injectors!
  20. I was in a Cavalier SRi last year overtaking a new shape mondeo on a dual carriageway, when I was level with him he decided to accelerate so I had to floor it to over 100 to get in before the dual carriageway came back down to 1 lane. As soon as I pulled in front, on came the hidden blue lights but amazingly he let me off cos I said we had a hospital network down. My manager was in the car at the time and he still talks about the day I raced the law. It was nice to do him in a 17 year old car though!
  21. Hope you do it Macca, can't see why not! Does anyone know how high the rev limit would have to be for a theoretical 200mph on a 5 speed? Suppose you could always stick 70 profile tyres on the back :D
  22. I'd do the power steering pipes whilst it's out. I didn't because they were OK at the time but it sprung a leak soon afterwards! I'd also fit a better set of engine mounts, I've removed 2 engines now and 3 out of 4 mounts we're completely severed. Oil seals are probably on your cards already but I swapped the rear crank oil seal when I fitted the RPS clutch just in case! Good luck Dave
  23. Fook! Makes me feel like I'm drowning.
  24. Handy if you need to change a front wheel, just get someone to pull the zorst pipes back :D
