I'll agree with you there! I started an IT job in the NHS back in 2000 but my HND didn't seem to count for sh1t with my old boss who after 5 years of no regrading despite saving his ass on numerous occasions, took on some 20 year old tossers with no quals and put them on my grade so I've just quit my IT job and gone back into Electronics. I've now got a boss who respects HNCs and HNDs and is pushing for regrades all the time. There's a deal going on between my new department and my old NHS boss's at the mo so I've already advised my new boss to tell the old one where to shove it :xxx: He has listened fair play!! :cool: Revenge is sweet.

Disturbingly when I used to work in a hospital In late 2001, I repaired a PC for a Muslin doctor. He seemed like a really nice guy at first then he started saying that he fully supported the 9/11 terrorist attacks which had just taken place. The tw@t never paid me for doing the job so I completely blanked the bloke in work and made sure he had no home or work-related IT support from anyone afterwards. Fookin tw@t. I'm not suggesting that they all support terrorism but it disturbs me to think that someone high up in the medical profession who I may rely on one day to save my life, thinks of me as Western trash and probably doesn't give a flying fook whether I live or die.

If they don't like Capitalist societies then why target innocent people? I'm not a big fan of Capitalism either but I would never go to this extreme. We are born into it and there's nothing we can do that will change things. I ended up hard wiring a £25 SD MP3 player into my radio and fitting an input selector switch. It was a tw@t to figure out which chip was the pre-amp though! I reckon the next generation of car radios will take SD cards.

I never believed in ghosts until I started seeing weird things happening around my house. Despite everyone being out or asleep, I've seen a boy aged about 10 walking across my landing a few times but found everyone to be sound asleep or downstairs watching a film! It is happening less and less these days but it scares the living shite out of you when it does happen. I recently found out that a 10 year old boy DID tragically die around here in 1979. His Brother pushed him through a window and he bled to death after cutting himself on the glass. He lived in the house behind mine. I can only assume that he would have come here because the previous owners' daughters were also aged 10 back then. Sometimes during the night we would both hear loud noises from the bathroom like someone getting ready in the morning but since I moved the internal walls around and blocked off a door, it hasn't happened since??

A rep once told me that when he got caught, he would say that his mate from America was driving at the time (false name given) and had since returned home. This makes sense as you HAVE to provide them with the name of the person who was driving at the time and if he lived over there I doubt they would get Interpol on the case for a poxy speeding ticket. My mate's father was fighting in Iraq last year. A notice of intended prosecution dropped through his letterbox for a speeding offense which he'd committed just before he went away. When my mate phoned the nick on his behalf they just dropped the whole thing. :shock:

As Mike says, the Hard disk drive will almost definately be formatted using NTFS which isn't readable when you boot off a 98 floppy. What errors do you get? Do you get BSOD (Blue screen of death) or ntldr missing/corrupt? This latter can sometimes be fixed by replacing the deleted system files but if this fails then you've got 2 options:- 1-Try to re-install XP over the top of what's already there, failing that you can install another instance of XP on the same drive if it's partition isn't totally screwed. 2-Put her hdd into another 2000/XP machine (must be formatted NTFS also) as a slave to recover any data then perform a full re-install, booting from the XP or recovery CD (needs a 2.5" to normal IDE adaptor). Hope this is of some use.

Just read an article in the local rag, aparently the government are drawing up plans to shaft anyone with big-engined vehicles. I would order it from the US anyway. I popped my 600Watt Harman Kardon amp years ago and it was gonna cost around £100 here just for the output transistors FFS. When you get some tw@t of a producer who includes a scene in Casualty where a young girl gets admitted after shoving a tampon in before getting rammed by some bloke and gets ill then it sends out the message that people must have sex by the time they're 12 or they're abnormal. What the fook do they expect is gonna happen? Schools wouldn't be a bad place to start because half the parents are riddled with Chavs disease by now but it would help if TV was filtered of its depressive/explicit shite. Hardly any parent knows what shite their kids are seeing or doing on the internet, this can't be a good start in life either.
