  1. Is that really the car which I thought was the best thing ever in 1983  It's amazing how things change. I had 48K of memory in an Atari 400 back then, it took about 10 mins to load the pirated games you got from someone in school with a double cassette deck and now you can download the emulator ROMs in about a second with a 56K modem  The other option was to type your game in which took a full evening then a week to debug the inevitable typos
  2. I thought Six Million Dollar Man and Chips were 70's? I'm glad no-ones voted for Airwolf. Fook! they have
  3. Well done Chunk. That's a great time. Wish I'd gone now.
  4. Not Z-related, the Saturn V CM.
  5. I remember kids placing a pipe bomb on the beach in Blackpool when I lived there. When it went off the tw@ts had placed boulders over it and it rained boulders for a good minute, smashing windscreens, denting cars etc. and luckily not killing anyone! I was on the 3rd floor and they even reached my roof! It took the cops an hour to turn up only to find guess what? a deserted beach :xxx:
  6. I've seen these before but they weren't this cheap, I doubt whether they would reflect as much light off the back of the stock reflector??? You could use an LED strip/s but some of them are 24V. At least if you but your own you can customise the array. The white ones would be ideal for the reversing lamps.
  7. I'm gonna be working on an all LED setup soon. I can get white 5mm LED reflectors cheap but the chrome ones are harder to come by, especially in the UK. I'll let you know how it goes.
  8. A few of my mates around North Wales have also had the kunts drawing alongside them and inviting them to go for it on several occasions :xxx:
  9. When I was a field Engineer I used the M6 in Cumbria most days, I often saw T5s flat out heading towards Penrith with no lights on etc. I used to cruise at a decent speed and they would pass me like I was stood still. Also in 1990 after getting nicked for doing an average speed of 100.1, I was banned for 2 weeks. Afterwards, North Wales traffic cops knew my car and would drive right up my ass at night to try to provoke me into speeding, they would eventually give up and race ahead with no lights at 140mph+ in their Senators then wait on bridges down the A55 hoping that I would think I was safe and gun it. Brunstrom needs a good slap, fooking tw@t has prevailed here far too long. Zero tolerance to save lives? Well why the fook are cameras strategically placed where there are no pedestrians and on downhill stretches I wonder. I bet the Goverment love that kunt.
  10. I'm about half way to being qualified and if I carry on training I will ultimately end up training Police drivers as my intructor does now. Does this mean I can use the same excuse? I fookin doubt it even though I'll also be an "advanced" driver. An advanced driver IMO generally does have a lot of experience and knowledge but at the end of the day it comes down to genetics, some of them will be good and some will be shite when it comes to the crunch. The other officers defended him because if they hadn't their lives would have been made hell by his cronies, sadly this is how it works in the Police force. Us mere mortals get told to bend over if we're caught.
  11. Na! The crime rate in Saudi is virtually 0% Scheme works 100%!!
  12. Glad you got her back, If they'd done it for fun then I suppose you could put it down to their immaturity but the fact that they tried to sell her makes it quite a different issue, the fookers need sorting for this. I would wait a few months then have a "quiet" word. A student teacher at our local JUNIOR school was arrested today for supplying drugs. WFT are these Chavs and Skippies doing in our schools FFS. I was reading an article earlier about how the world deals with juvenile delinquents:- Holland Residents who disturb others are being shifted to the outskirts of Amsterdam and re-housed in units similar to shipping containers. Singapore First time offenders, eg. littering, spitting or not flushing a public loo - $500. Germany Court orders can be issued to parents of kids aged 14-17 if they misbehave and/or fines can be imposed. Botswana Offenders can expect beatings. Missouri Children monitored from the cradle, potential delinquents are detected very early on, 78% reduction in truancy, 33% drop in crime & 81% increased their grades in school since the scheme was introduced. Saudi Arabia Strict Islamic law, amputations, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth etc. South Korea Truants returned to school by the police. If that fails, they are sent to a detention centre. Czech republic New laws, vandals can face up to 8 years imprisonment. Russia Swearing is illegal, offenders sent to jail until a fine is paid. Bahrain Substantial fines for swearing/rude gestures. Mexico Potentially you can be jailed without bail for a year. Britain Oh go on Son, work in a charity shop for 2 weeks - that'll sort you out. Why is it we're hard on silly issues such as forgetting to make a SORN declaration FFS but soft as shite on really important ones? Makes mine and probably 80% of UK citizen's blood boil but fook all ever happens to change things.
  13. LOL! - I've got a lot of respect for those VTEC engines, the first one I ever rode in was back in 1990 - a CRX, that thing just kept on revving! I can't imagine what a 2 litre version with 15 years' worth of development could do, probably lots! OMG, just looked up the spec., Redline @9000 rpm
  14. Isn't that £500 each?
  15. Hope you had a good hol, I really wanted to go this Saturday but the bl00dy Missus is working AGAIN so I'm been left holding the baby. If you don't mind sending them by Royal snail I'd be grateful. Just let us know how much to add. Cheers Dave
  16. This is EXACTLY what happened to me except that my Suzuki stopped about 2 inches off her car. A neighbour came running out and said "FFS get her off the road this time, she's a danger to everyone round here"!!! Luckily all I had was a grazed ass and a bent changer lever.
  17. This WOULD make a huge difference, my old Z32 was way quicker than my current Z32 because the suspension was spot on, this one's poo.
  18. LOL! Anyone round here with a reg plate such as 9 MEY is usually some rich local farmer's Son, the reg plate coming from Grandad's tractor etc. He was reeling as I reeled him in :mac1: , once I got 3 bus lengths or so ahead I eased off but he didn't get it and tried again but to no avail   £44K worth of BM versus my £4.4K Zed  They're a quick car but this would worry me if I owned one:- Default Service tech information and instructions BMW SERVICE ACTION ON M3 S54 ENGINES – AUGUST 2004 (Q1) Why is BMW announcing a service action on M3 S54 engines? (A1) We have determined that certain BMW M3s with S54 engines could experience premature engine damage. The engine connecting rod bearings were not manufactured to BMW quality standards. As a result, the bearings can overheat and fail prematurely if the vehicle is operated at higher engine speeds over an extended period. (Q2) How many cars are affected by the service action? (A2) Approximately 20,000 M3s are affected in the US (48,000 Worldwide). (Q3) Which models are affected? (A3) BMW M3 Coupe/Convertible equipped with S54 engines and produced between February 12, 2001 and May 22, 2003. (Q4) How many M3s with S54 engines in total were sold in the US? (A4) Approximately 28,600 M3s with S54 engines have been sold in the US to date. (Q5) How did BMW become aware of the problem? (A5) BMW became aware of the problem through its own quality control processes. (Q6) What is the reason for the defect? (A6) The connecting rod bearings were not manufactured to BMW quality standards. As a result, the connecting rod bearings are susceptible to overheating and subsequent premature failure if the vehicle is operated at higher engine speeds over an extended period. (Q7) How does the driver become aware of the problem? (A7) If the connecting rod bearings were to fail, the damage is often accompanied by engine knocking or a loud rattling noise. If this were to occur, the driver should pull over to a safe location, turn the ignition off and call BMW Roadside Assistance at (800) 332-4BMW to have the vehicle towed to the nearest authorized BMW center. (Q8) Is this a safety issue? (A8) No, this is a long-term durability issue. The vehicle can still be operated with no immediate need to have the repairs carried out. The driver would become aware of the problem if the engine started knocking or making a loud rattling noise. If this were to occur, the driver should to pull over to a safe location, turn the ignition off and call BMW Roadside Assistance at (800) 332-4BMW to have the car towed to the nearest authorized BMW center. (Q9) What is the solution to the problem? (A9) The affected cars will require replacement of the connecting rod bearings and the engine management system will be programmed with the latest software. (Q10) BMW conducted a service action in March 2003 for an internal engine problem. How is this service action different? (A10) Our original investigation identified a problem with contamination of the engine lubricating system during assembly and unfavorable tolerances in the engine oil pump in M3 S54 engines produced from October 2001 through February 2002. The current service action addresses a quality issue with the engine connecting rod bearings which can result in premature wear. (Q11) How many cars have experienced this engine damage? (A11) To date, only a small percentage of cars have experienced engine damage caused by premature connecting rod bearing wear. (Q12) Is BMW aware of any accidents or injuries attributed to the problem? (A12) No. (Q13) Will BMW initiate a recall? (A13) No, this issue will be addressed through a service action. (Q14) How will affected customers be informed? (A14) Affected customers will receive a letter from BMW of North America, LLC informing them of the service action. Affected customers are asked to contact their authorized BMW center to schedule an appointment for the service action. (Q15) How long will the repair take? (A15) The repair will take approximately 1½ working days to complete, however, the actual time will vary depending on center scheduling. (Q16) Are there any repair costs for the customer? (A16) No. (Q17) Can customers continue to drive their cars? (A17) Yes. However, BMW recommends affected customers schedule an appointment for the repair with an authorized BMW center as soon as possible. In the unlikely event that your engine is knocking or making a rattling noise, please pull over to a safe location, turn the ignition off and call BMW Roadside Assistance at (800) 332-4BMW to have the vehicle towed to the nearest authorized BMW center. (Q18) Does my M3 Coupe/Convertible have a 6-year/100,000 mile engine warranty extension? (A18) To show our commitment to customers, BMW provided this warranty to all 2001, 2002 and 2003 model year BMW’s with S54 engines. (Q19) Why is the M roadster/coupe not affected by this service action? (A19) The design of the M roadster/coupe is different from the M3 Coupe/Convertible. Most important, the M roadster/coupe has a lower maximum speed, 7600 rpm vs. 8000 rpm in the M3 Coupe/Convertible. As a result, the connecting rod bearings are not subjected to the same stress as those in a M3 Coupe/Convertible. (Q20) Do customers have to wait to receive their notification letter before having this repair performed? (A20) Yes. BMW is in the process of implementing the service action to ensure that the necessary parts are at the BMW centers prior to sending out the owner notification letters. (Q21) When will letters be sent to affected customers? (A21) Mailings are scheduled to commence in August 2004. (Q22) The engine in my M3 was previously replaced. Does the service action still need to be performed? (A22) It depends on the production date of the replacement engine. The customer should consult with the authorized center or customer relations to confirm whether the vehicle is affected.
  19. Many of you will have come across this site before, it contains many useful facts about choice of turbos and ECU tuning/downloads. He reckons in one instance (Greddy TD06-16/20G) that increasing the boost beyond the "choke" area still does produce some more power which interestingly contradicts what has been said in the past. http://cherrypicker.tripod.com/id10.html Dave
  20. Last year I was "done" by a Z3 M-Series because mine was running with a code 34  but tonight I was following a new M3 home and thought he wasn't going to "go" for it, I was very wrong! As soon as we reached the national speed limit sign he floored it but so did I and as there was nothing coming for a good mile I passed him with ease  I guess all the hard work is paying off at last!
  21. I actually saw an L reg one of these today in met green, I thought it must be an enthusiast's car but to my surprise it was being driven by an old dear, maybe she owned it from new?
  22. I wouldn't bid on this car, not with 820K on the clock
  23. I've got the same front spoiler waiting to go on mine, it looks great mate and in black too ;)
