Had same problem from driver's side turbo area when first got my Z 2 Years ago. The ticking noise got worse & louder as the months went on and eventually caused the drivers side turbo to have excessive wear induced on it for what ever reason. Turned out the gasket from the turbo to the exhaust down pipe was nackerd, so if you got the same prob PLEASE get it sorted quickly or it could be new turbo time!! :xxx: :xxx: :cry: :cry: :shock: :hurl:

Testdrove all 3 of them. Jap Supra & 300ZX very similar in performance - 300ZX UK TT was actually quicker and cheaper that's why I Bought it!!! GTO was a 6 speed TT, very nice car but far to heavy and couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding.. And UK spec Supra was the quickest, only just but far to expensive and not good value for money... Haven't driven a Skyline yet :cry:

Hear'd all about it, gonna watch the highlight now!! Went off F1 years ago cause it's so dull, WRC much more exiciting but ITV does crap coverage compaired to what Channel 4 used to do..

My local garage who does all the work on my Z have just had a TATdyno rolling road fitted. :dance: Fortunatly for me they needed a car to test it with so was more than happy for them to use my Z as the test car!! :hyper: Had several runs done with & without the rollers having the retard added to them (alows boost to gain under engine load) My car is due to have the det sensor changed soon as the ECU is always giving a code 34.. Wiring to ECU fine etc.. First run my Z was making 320.4 BHP without the rollers having there retard on Then with the retard on which gives the true BHP figure it was making 274.BHP with 243.2 lbft at 6736 RPM @ 165 MPH.. in 5TH Gear... My Z is UK Spec & only has basic mods Blitz air filter, Z centre exaust system without CATS, E.G.R's removes, running standard boost with 360 thrust bearing Turbo's on 18" Wheels.. (Think one of the lambda sensors is Fooked too) :slap: I thought these were resonable figures considdering I'm in safe mode (Was expecting a lot less). Would these be the sort of figures I should be expecting with this setup??? The engine was also connected up to the Rollers PC from the balance bar to measure boost pressure.. Boost was recored at 0.62 bar but internal aftermarket guages we're showing 0.4 bar (7PSI) (I'm totally puzzeld!!) :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal We checked the ECU after and it was still giving a code 34 so is the Z bleeding off pressure or is it something else in the system?? ) Internal aftermarket guages used to show 0.6 BAR before my engine swap so I know there OK!! Also the rev limiter was kicking in at 6736RPM - alway thought standard was 7200RPM... Dyno info at http://www.tatdyno.com

I think you got the right idea bud, EGR Removal a must and for god sake get a new det sensor for the new engine!! Northing worse than putting a new engine in a getting a code 34!! (Learnt that the hard way!) apart from that PTU, TPS, alternator can all be done with the engine in!! I'm to tired to think of anything else at the mo but will let you know if I come up with anything!

88.9p for normal unleaded, 97.9p for super unleaded and £1.04p for Optimax!!! Yep, we get bloody ripped off in Cornwall & most of the shell garages have closed up down here, nearest one is 15 Miles away now... Don't know who drinks the most, me or me fookin Z!! :duffer: :mad: :duffer:

Yeah, I've know Nigel for quiet a few years now!! I was still at school when he got his ZX - always promised myself I would have a car like that one day, finally did 3 years ago when I hit 25!! He still sayz the 300ZX is probably one of the best cars he's ever had!!

It's a torque thing I think with the Twin Turbo's!!! The Jag XJ220's a prime example against most super car's of today that have more BHP & that weigh's a shead load!!!

I was gonna start this thread myself but someone beat me to it!! What is up with 350Z owners??!! Are they all arrogant ****ers or like everyone says is it cause they don't have a clue!! None of them wave & everytime I see one there alway out to TRY and impress the missus & TRY to race you!!! :nono: Don't they realize they haven't got a chance even against a standard Z or are they all a sandwich short of picnic?? Thank's everyone you've all been more than helpful as norm!! I will try the above but fear the worst for a faulty det sensor!! Just worried that when I get it replaced i'll still get the same error code!!!

Would a faulty Throttle Position Sensor cause the Z to run In Safety Mode???

Have left the battery disconected for 2 hours, thought that might have cleared the ECU!! So what exactly do I need to do to wipe off all the error codes??.. The engine I've got has only done 40,000 miles so I'm hoping the det sensor isn't faulty!!!
