Mine have done the same but it's not an MOT faliure so don't panic! It's normally caused by the reverse switch in the gear box. If when in reverse you shove the stick hard back and hold it they may come on!

Take Daves advice dude, standard guages a rubbish!!! Best thing to do is get a 2 or 3 pillar A Pod from Z Centre and get a boost, oil, and water dial. Boost & Oil Pressure most important though!!

It's all to do with the amount of oil pressure the engine has actually got. when driving hard or accelerating you will notice the guage rise. when at idle it will read quiet low. This is normal though so don't worry!

Replacing your top intake hose with the Hard one's from Smithy and then modifying them to take BOV'S is the best place to put them as they are closest to the throttle boddies. Other guys fit them to the bottom 2 hoses which is crap because when your throttle bodies close all that air then get's forced back through the intercoolers into the outlet pipe from the turbo before it's dumped! Makes a good noise but you may as well not have dump valves for all the good it does. When your back on the throttle all that air has to then be re-accelerated again causing Major Lag! Yo Dude! Had to get one for my TT last year, ended up finding one on http://www.1stchoice.co.uk there's plenty out there as they search all available breakers yards in the uk!! I got luck got one from a written off 1992 UK Spec Z which had only done 42,000 miles. They send proof of milage compression tests etc. It was the main engine - tubs cause my tubs we're new but a bargain at £900 inc delivery!!! Hope this helps!!
