I have done this recently. As Uno said above. I called them up to make sure it went on their records and followed up in more detail by email.

So ok after the garage saying they are happy for me to collect my car to move onto another garage and a couple days before picking up saying i owe them about £8,000 to pick my car up completly in bits, engine out, engine stripped and completly in bits. After feedback from people on here and other garages. We put together a more realistic price structure than what they tried pushing on to me. With Legal advice and input we put together our reply which was sent on Monday. It is now Wednesday and waiting for their reply. The last few weeks I have been busy. I have been in contact with media publications. Luckily I work with a company who has our own PR department which will be coming in handy. I have been in contact with the main UK TV stations, looking for programs like watchdog and rogue traders. I have been in contact with Consumer Direct and as suggested IAEA. I still putting a list together of motoring magaizines and articles who may be interested. What happens now? Well I am a descent and fair guy. However the garage have completly took advantage of me and tried to rip me off. I don't see how it is fair a garage with a reputation like theirs should be allowed to get away with doing this to someone who is vunurable like me. Now we just wait to see what they come back to our reply to their invoices, this was sent Monday morning and still not heard anything yet. I have a few interesting leads and options now in front of me now. The next step is up to them. I want this resolved asap as you can imagine and i want to be happy and satisfied with the end result. As you can imagine i am sick to the heart not having my car for a year and a half. I have been messed about in the past so I was willing to pay the extra and took it to them as they were meant to be one of the best. If I am not Satisfied with their reply, i will be taking further legal action against them. I will have no other choice to also follow up the media route and get this resolved by a publicity orientated consumer group like Watchdog. I have been in talks with several TV media groups and have a few choices in front of me with which one to go with. I really hope it doesnt have to come to that, the next few days will decide depending on their reply.

Mainly in the for sale section you see people amend their post title with a Sold before and after. How do you amend a title? i have tried editing and going advanced but it does not change the title. help... :D

Thanks Paul. I dont think they have all the facilities still, they do have some however. My owner concern would be, could they bump the price up if they had words with the machine shop.

The garage who has been doing my engine has stung me on hours for workshop labour. I also believe this may be the case on the machining. 40 hours for number 6. Below seems a very long time. I have been charged for a dummy build which they have sent a pic to me of and for 20 hours I feel allot was missed off as if they were pulling a fast one. Pic attached with my comments on. Even so 20 hours is a very very long time just for a dummy build. Hi, Still having problems with my garage. until I can collect my car (in bits) they are telling me i owe them about £8000 this is a new development. Of course we have questioned what that £8000 is for. They have sent me two invoices which they believe i owe them the money for. The first invoice was garage services which i have got checked out no problems. the second invoice is for engine machining costs and head work. Is there anyone who would help look over the hours they have put down for the work done. for example: they have charged 40 hours to "Labour: Cutting new valve seats, fitting new stems, porting head, fitting springs" There are other items also. What I need is someones or places i can ask about 8 items i have been charged for on this invoice for how long they would take. Solicitor said i need 3 different machine shops to comment. At this point i am asking a favour and will not ask you to stand by me in court. This is purely for us to see how long things take to do. It's not that simple, they have about £35k worth of my stuff. There are parts and everything every where. I need it to be civil. All the parts are in the workshop laid out on benches. I need it bagged and boxed and labelled carefully. I tell you what they have pissed the wrong people off. I am as nice as pie but i can't speak for the people they have also pissed off in all this. I wouldnt be surprised if they had a visit. I know allot of people all over the place in the jap scene, if they keep this up i will be making this heard of on every big club forum. Why should they be able to do this to me and get away with it. Also how can anyone else use a company like that. Everyone needs to be warned what they do to people and how they are well just crooks. I would love to. I am crossing the T's and dotting the I's I can not say anything until I have my car back and i know where i stand. You will be gob smacked if i said who they are. I really want to say, because if you wanted some work done and took your car there and they done the same to you then i would feel terrible for not warning anyone.

We are meant to picking my car and parts up on Friday from the garage. They seemed happy for it to go. Keeping in mind they have had it for a year and a half. We had to call them today to confirm Friday. They said they have been working out what work they have done and discuss the money I owe them. Are you kidding me?? Seriously!! They have no idea!! How can they even think about saying that! They should be ashamed! I have had enough of this! I have reported them to trading Standads and the osmunds what ever it is called. I am taking it to the press and I am reporting them to the watchdog! How dare they even say I owe them money. I can probably guess their game, they have no leg to stand on, they are so in the wrong!! What i bet they are doing is lie yet again and make the bill up even more. then they will say you owe us ex amount but i tell you what we will call it quits and dont pay anything. In other words they know i am in every right to take them to court, they also know i want my deposit back and compensation i bet they are trying to get out of giving anything back. I really dont believe how a garage with their reputation can do this to a customer. They have no idea what road they are driving it down, I will take them to court and make this public. Why should they get away with ripping me off and coning me. How is it fair for them to do this and no one else aware of what a bad garage they are and how they just rip people off. Are you sure you want nos? I would stay clear personally. You mentioned a chip above, i would be keen on going stand alone management on a big spec.

Oh i will do. Thing is if i did take my car else where allot of money the £3k deposit would have to be re done by the new garage. Any measurements and checks would have to be redone, they might want to re do the heads to warrant their work. They will want to do their own mockup engine. If i dont get what i want from the garage which i am happy compensation wise then i will name and shame, local press and all sorts. Thing is they are stupid!! my car will be a massive spec if it was done, making big hp. I will get allot of attention in the car and no doubt a Feature in magazines which i will just name and shame in all of them and everything and tell it as a story in features how it went from some rubbish garage to another to get it done.
