  1. How did it sound in person? What is the spec? Is it a triple or quad rotor? and is it turbo?
  2. Sound of this car is awesome!!! Apparently this car will be going into production.
  3. anyone got anything to add to this? Would like to know what warranties people have got with their engine rebuilds. Hayward RX7 specialist who done my brothers car offered a very tempting option however i have already purchased all the parts for a piston engine which would go to waste.
  4. As Mike said above, it needs to go to a established garage where i will get some kind of warranty or come back if anything goes wrong as parts alone i have bills for thousands of pounds. I have contact a few garages on your recomendations. At the moment TDI sound a good option, I have done checks on the company and seem a very good company, they are very expensive however no more expensive than the current garage and i think i will get the service from them the car needs. I will keep everyone posted. Yesterday we sent out an email to the garage explaining that we are looking into moving the car on and still awaiting their reply. We are going to arrange a visit with TDI so we can sit down with them and take a closer look at the garage and facilities and discuss about the situation and the car. However before we do that, i am holding fire until the end of today possibly tomorrow to see what the garage replies who currently has my car. TDI quoted getting the car up and running within 5 days and they are aware the engine is in bits waiting to be assembled. I doubt 5 days is a completed job as there is a fair amount that needs doing however if they can get that far in 5 days then another 5 days may see the completion of my car.
  5. As for longer ones. Nismo do a kit which Z1 sells.
  6. I already have all the parts and everything. The car is at the garage with all the parts to hand and failing to carry on putting the engine together time after time. Yes it has a standalone Engine Management system. Believe me when i say the car is a very good spec. Before the engine failed which prompted this build it was running 520bhp at the fly and this time round i am pushing for allot more power. The engine which popped was built at Scholar Engines in Norfolk actually could be Suffolk. The engine was a built engine with forged internals. It had only covered 2000 miles. Cost me allot of money as you could imagine. Anyway contacted several garages, and i only considerd the best for the job. One of which i decided to take the car to. They stripped the old block found it to be a fault with the build E.g. Scholars Engines fault so affoid them with a barge pole!!! Then moving forwards i suppled another used lump. Which was then stripped by the new garage, I purchased all new internals and went the extra mile and changed allot of the rest of the spec e.g. turbos and stuff which were new 2000 miles ago on the engine that popped which were already decent parts. Imported all my new parts from the States and Japan. Mods were needed for fitment of new parts which have been done, engine stripped, cleaned and macined ready to go together. New parts have been weighed, balanced and lightened where needed. It's all waiting to be put together. Once the engine is together and in there are a few other misc jobs that need doing. Then it needs to be mapped which is currently a Aem EMS which may change but if it was built by the garage who has it if i move on then i will keep the AEM. I know I am being very vague. I have to be at the moment for obvious reasons. Once i am in a position to say may i will do.
  7. Really? what makes you say that about Thor? That is a great gesture, I see how the next few days and convos go with the current garage before any action is taken. Ideall they would finish off the car, but lie after lie and promise after promise is getting way out of control. May 2008 was a Year and 4 months ago. That is a very long time to have a car and it to be in the state it's in. The bottom end is bare, no work there at all. the heads are done i think. They keep telling me how sorry they are and they will get it sorted but i never see any more progress. Before i know it another month would of past. I really cant believe how a company like them can treat someone like they have me. They are stupid and its a really bad business move. My family are pushing me to take legal action, if i did that i would probably get a good compensation. Im getting very close to going down that route. I see it as they have one last chance to get it done if not and if they mess me about anymore we have two option. let it ride and will pursue legal action or to take my car away to another garage and also still take legal action.
  8. Thought i would keep this seperate from my other one as i dont want them all becoming confusing. Those people with built engines, what sort of warranty did you get? What sort of warranty would you expect from a expensive re-build? My brother has just had his RX7 rebuilt, it came with a 3 year warranty or 50,000 mile what ever comes first.
  9. At the time that would of been a very expensive option but now looking back it would been allot cheaper going for a built Z1 engine. Wish that was my original route. Thor Racing isnt a option.
  10. I have been in contact with TDI-PLC south. they have two garages but i would be looking at the one near London. They seem very helpful and were recomended but so was the previous garage. anyone got any experiance with them or know of their work?
  11. That is interesting you say that. Why is it such a struggle on the 300zx to get a garage to do the build? i have spoken to people in the race industry who say the garages are completly taking the piss which yes they are and that they could build the engine in a week however i say to them the 300zx is a very complicated and complex engine they reply a engine is a engine. I have spoken to several people who use to build race engine, one on the Lotus race team can't remember who the other was. Also why wont big tuners touch them? You can tune other cars upto the same power i want for half the price getting onto quarter the price, that shows itself there is something very complex about our cars.
  12. This is what i was affraid of, i really dont want to sound dis-respectful to anyone. I have heard good things about Jimmer but the nature of the build and spec i think it would need to go to a garage instead of a one man band purely if anything was to go wrong or any come back. Plus what else needs doing like the mapping and other mods. I spoke to Jeff a long time ago as the garage have it for such a long time. At the time Zedworld were very busy and wasnt interested in taking on such a big project which i totally understand. Looking forward though Jeff's workload at the time would of not been a issue seeing how long it's been now and Jeff had got it sorted in quarter the time. Thanks.
  13. Hi, I am after a list of Garages and engine builders who are capable of building a high spec 300zx. I'm sure some may question why I am asking and what the score is with me and my car but i am not at libity to say at the moment. I will just say it is one big mess which needs action taking. I really need to underline that this will be a very big spec 300zx and looking at running allot of power. No dis-respect to any other garages but i need recomendation of garages/builders who are up to the job. Someone who would take on a project that has already been started and seeing it through to completion. Ideally a garage with a full set of services, from building the engine to fitting and then mapping and running the car in. Also there are lots other bits that need doing as well as building the engine. I have heard good things about Phil who used to work at C&S woods and understand he has done some big builds. Any info and help would be greatfully recieved. I am very very sad and disapointed that it has even come to a point that i have had to create this thread and think about other options. this whole experiance over the last year and so many months has turned my life upside down and got the better of me. has took allot out of me and cost me allot of money, stress and depression to say the least. thanks as always :D
  14. there is a guide some where. cant find it
  15. thanks guys.. That is perfect exactly what i was after :D
  16. not knicking the post but.... i love that toe hook!!
  17. good man, what a good idea. Hear before you think of purchasing :D
  18. not eleanor? ok how about a Shelby 1969 fastback GT500 :P
  19. Well maybe i am wrong then I just thought that it relies on another 9000 user going along the same stretch of road on the same day within a few hours of your self was very very slim. Didnt realise you could plug in the laser adapter for it. Thats handy. Also, recently on fith gear they reviewed the radar jamers/garage door openers. Apparently they work well. I think a laser gun has 3 goes at picking your plate up the gadget blocks the first with a visible warning allowing you to slow down before the second. Well something along those lines. However they are illegal and your only allowed one if you can proove you have a electric garage door or gates. Mum... can we have a electric garage door?? :D
  20. Can anyone help me out with stripped interior pics of a 2+2 if you have gutted the car and still have front seats in that would be still be helpful. I need some of around the front where the dash sits on the edges. behind the where the front seats sit of the floor. the rear around top of the shocks and on top of the arches with no trims fitted. and a pic of the rear where the rear seats would be but with them removed. Thanks.
  21. Cool, thanks guys, will try the others pm sent Baz.
  22. Yeah i have tried them. along with takakaira and nengun.
